This show is amazing. The gritty style brawling mixed with martial arts for the fight sequences are incredible. Andrew Koji embodies Ah Sahm perfectly. He channels Bruce Lee so perfectly with the fight sequences but also brings his own take to the character. Already the first 5 episodes are intense.
Fun fact: the people (or at least the director) who made this intro also designed the intros for Boardwalk Empire, God Of War III (all animated cutscenes), The Pacific, Narcos and Stranger Things. Arisu Kashiwagi, that woman is a visual artisan.

This intro is so Fire. I love the blend of Hip hop into this. I don’t think the show would of had the same effect as it does now had it come out 50 years ago.
Boz there’s no hip hop in this intro, but I think the dude was talking about the songs that plays during the credits when the episode ends.They use a lot of Asian hip hop there.
The foundation is hiphop, you can clearly hear it in the drums, also the looping in some of the transitions is typical hiphop sampling techniques. The bulk if not all the ending credits on the show are hiphop tracks, which usually indicates the composers vision of the type of soundtrack that perfectly portrays the series. The best way to describe it, is a blend of multiple genres kinda like the succession theme song.
Not to take anything away or offend the late David Carradine or "Kung Fu", but Warrior to me IS the TRUE "Kung Fu" show. The only regret is that Bruce Lee is not alive to be in this masterpiece. But, even though he passed away over 40 years ago, glad that his flame is still burning here, continuing to inspire, and that the writings he left behind are now being realized. So excited that HBO Max picked up Warrior, and gearing up for season 3. And, on the subject of more future Bruce Lee projects, I'm excited to see his original story for The Silent Flute be captured on film, now that it is picked up and on the early pre-production stages. I just hope one day his original story for Game Of Death comes to light as well.

I use to go to CHINATOWN in NEW YORK in the 70s and watch Bruce Lee movies and read the subtitles. When the first episode of WARRIOR switched from Chinese to English that switch was AWESOME.

@@eduardocosta86 I think they mean if this had been produced when Bruce Lee was alive and still in his prime. He clearly wrote Ah Sahm’s character based on many of his own life experiences. But you are right if he were alive today he would have played the role of master or head of one of the tongs.
Not only that this is a brilliant composition, in my opinion this is a great tribute to the spirit of Jeet Kune Do and Bruce Lee, definitely one of my all time favorites!
