Hi Craig and others. This is a great feature you discovered! BUT don't you have PROBLEM WITH LAGGING of the instrument controlled by Groove Agent 5 / SE - because I do 🙁 ? On moderately comlex project playing kick pattern in paralel with the same kick pattern from Groove Agent 5 SE it is ca 50 ms for me and it fluctuates (this is a test scenario). It is dependent from ASIO latency. But even fast computer cannot handle acceptable latency of i.e. 5 ms with moderately complex project. Cubase support told me, that when MIDI is fed "in realtime" (signalized by 🔈sign), there is always this latency. Do you have this problem too? Have you figured out a workaround for that? (I tried but with no success). Thanks for any helpful tip. Cheers, MJ
Thanks for making that video, showing this workflow. Really fascinating on the one hand, really disappointing on the other hand. Disappointing because that's "the best Cubase got", and it's lightyears behind what proper live looping is (Ableton/Bitwig). I think it's a pity that Steinberg does not have a third option in between Cubase and VST Live, which allows proper Cliplaunching, Loading Plugins while Playback is active, Launchpad Support, etc.
Amazing video!! I believe this is close to what I’ve been trying to achieve and I believe the answer to my question may lie in this video but I’m not sure in how to go about it. Let’s say I just want a midi note loop to trigger a sound using a pad. Around the 19 minute mark you use a drum fill pattern from the “styles tab” which is essentially midi loops that are triggering your samples on your pads. This is essentially what I’m looking to do but what if I wanted to import my own loops and have a drum pad trigger the loop which triggers a sample. Is this possible? I would like to import a bunch of midi loops and have them triggered by the pad but be able to switch what sample they trigger. As well as edit the midi loop to shorten it or change it however I see fit. I hope this makes sense and it seems like essentially what you are doing in this video but something is not clicking for me. Appreciate your time and thank you for making this video!!
First, thank you for this great tutorial! :) Can you pleas help me. As I'm pushing the buttons on the Nektar Aura I hear only single Instrumets eventhough I'm in the pattern mode. Thanks in advance! :)
This is just so addictively COOL 😎 I'm learning the art of DAWS and have just purchased Cubase 11 Elements and Dorico 3.5. Really Loving this video ! You sound like you're from near where I lived (and left) in the UK 20 years ago 30 miles East of Leeds although I was born in London the local accent caught on ! :) Subbed for Sure. (I could be way off on your accent ✌️)
Wow ,make templet i will buy it ,i can not go true all that my self. ,so your controller just triggering midi send message yes . can be any controller ?
Great video and very doable. I’m wondering if another midi pad controller could be used like Arturia’s beatstep pro or a Maschine Micro MK3? Since I’m not a beat maker, the Aura seems overkill to me… ideas? TIA!
from watching this video I am dissapointed to learn I paid around £500 to get what I thought was the full version of cubase, only to find out it comes with groove agent se5 which has to be upgraded to groove agent 5 to get all the features.. .which basically means spending another £92!!! what a scam.. however, great video! and thanks for covering a workaround for se5... seriously gutted though spending that much on a daw and it does not come with all the features! is it worth the upgrade? is it something that will be used a lot ?
Yeah, I paid for the upgrade but to be completely honest I rarely, if ever, need the extra features of the full version. This video was more a proof of concept to myself to see if I could replace the functionality of Ableton within Cubase. GA SE is always my go-to for drums and is the version I have loaded up in my default template
@@Tutorial_ism yes I binged on your vids they are great you explain everything so clearly and nicely best tutorials on YT honestly you are the reason why I will upgrade to cubase pro 11...I was thinking about upgrading to live 11 as well what do you think? will it be overkill?
Genius! Love the way you manage to figure out clever and unexpected ways to get what you want!
Thanks for another helpful Cubase video.
i like it but what is pad remote? do vid on that?
That was a great summary.. thanks so much.. really help me set up my AKAI MPK Mini for live performances
That’s awesome mate. Good luck with the performances - looking forward to the full return of live music!
I have learned something, many thanks.
You are very welcome my friend!
great job, thank you (Y)
Great job, thanks 🌹
Most welcome Khaled!

Thank you so much.
Super fat track! powerful! 🚀 🚀 🚀

Why can't I find the "Keep Fit Kit" in GA5?
can i just say also that is a really nice beat!
Thanks Lucy 🙏🏼
Great video! How come you didnt want to use Ableton instead?

Thanks for the sub. Not a million miles off with the accent. I’m from Newcastle but left about 20 years ago too

Thanks. I will set up a website and put stuff like this on it soon!
Is there a way to jump out of the loop by triggering a midi signal with a sustain pedal?
Great video and very doable. I’m wondering if another midi pad controller could be used like Arturia’s beatstep pro or a Maschine Micro MK3? Since I’m not a beat maker, the Aura seems overkill to me… ideas? TIA!
in cubase 8 i can load 4 inserts how can i add more but my insert pannel showing only 4 effects can add
Hi, Can I load backing tracks to the Necktar.
really helpful!
Glad it was helpful Aayush
Cubase > Ableton. Great way to experiment with different arrangement ideas especially when you're stuck on a loop.
Yeah. I’ve been having so much fun with it!
Cool. I'm surprised Cubase hasn't got an easier was of automating things, not requiring an advanced drum machine for triggering midi sequences.
See my video on the arranger track
Great 👍
Hi can you record the performance into the arrangement ?
Yes. Just record enable the midi channels

Hi, is it possible to do this with Groove agent 5 SE?
I think I went in to SE towards the end of the video
Cubase goes Ableton... 😆 😎
steinberg doesn't know that ,
i would like to send this video to greg ondo ,to make him happy,
Thanks for the support!
I think you’re the developer of Cubase lol
Wow. You just did a whole lot of binge watching. Thanks for the support!
