Luke was playing in a tournament in Fort Wayne, IN once while I was living in Fort Wayne. The dude was literally sleeping in his little car. I invited him to stay at my house for the weekend. It's crazy to see where he's at now and has been so fun to watch him progress. Keep it up, Luke! The next time you're up this much with the win in sight, break out a lefty shot for us!
Apparently there is very poor cell coverage, which is why there was no live coverage. I'd be fine skipping the live coverage to make this course an elite or even major since it's such a great course but that's just not going to happen with the recent emphasis on live coverage. At least I doubt it will happen. The pro tour needs to start bribing companies to put up cell towers near the best courses.
Love this course. Besides what I've said on previous videos, I'll add that there's many unique and memorable holes, which is hard to come by. Gotta make this an elite series event at least. Commentary was phenomenal as well. Conner providing articulate insight regarding each hole from a player's perspective adds another layer of detail to viewing the round which is great.
This suddenly turned into one of my favorite tournaments I’ve watched this year. Also cool to say I have another favorite player to root for in Luke Samson
Great coverage and Congratulations to Luke. Didn’t appreciate the DGPT announcers talking over the presentation of the trophy to the winner. One other observation in general about Pro Disc Golf events…. WHY, is the Trophy presentation so hurried and rushed. It’s like “hey you won, I am late to pick up my kinds, here is your trophy, Congrats, se ya…??? Or is that just me thinking it is strange?
I think it's because nobody really wants to stick around at the end, if you have to collect everyone together to sit down and listen to speeches probably a lot of people will have left by then.
The video crews aren't sticking around for delayed ceremonies. They have to get the footage back to the editing room asap. They might have even done an additional awards ceremony but you like to get the trophy hand off on camera.
I remember Luke playing baseball with my kids with sticks and pine cones at a tourney in Russellville, while the tournament was still going. Super nice guy, very happy for him!
True story… Met Luke out on a course back in his Prius days…fast forward a year and I’m at an A tier in a different state and we’re warming up on the practice same basket. Not only did he remember me, he remembered my name (Jacob isn’t my real name) and I’m a nobody in the disc golf world. I instantly became a Luke Samson fan boy lol
Love seeing this course get some publicity. The crazy thing that I'm not sure was mentioned is that there's another stellar course like 200 feet from hole 1. It's shorter but more wooded and still plenty of challenge, reminiscent of smuggler's notch 2 course combo. This place at the least deserves an elite series stop.
I've seen Luke play only once before way back at Metro in Austin, finally getting to see him again, he's gonna be somebody to keep an eye out for. great win Luke
Im Happy to see Luke Samson Win i remember seeing him in other tournaments before like Goat hill. Hes a Passionate player who Loves the Game. I didn’t know his story like that.😲 id support him whenever he gets his name on discs. (Samson the Giant with Shades and chains hanging from his wrist!)
No, no, no, no.. the original pronounciation of the Berg is with a soft g. Almost identical to "berry", but with full emphasis on the "e" and none on the "y" so it becomes a one-syllable word. And if you're picky, the "e" sounds like the "a" in bad. "baddy" is another good comparison, where the only difference is to exchange the "dd" for an "r"-sound.
Connor O’Reilly is an outstanding commentator. Hope he becomes a regular.
Would love to see this course stick around on tour!

How this course isn’t an elite series event is beyond me. Has to be one of the best courses in the country
This course should host he tour championship.

Thanks Ian and Connor and the crew!! Great coverage and commentary
Conner is super well spoken, enjoyed his commentary!
Agreed but he is a little emotionless.

Excellent commentary. Great course and play ( Pro Level for sure ). Conners heartwarming story about Luke was awesome.
So cool seeing Kastaplast being thrown at pro level.
Charlie Goodpasture also throws kastaplast I’m pretty sure and I like how he plays. both are solid.
Very much so. I'm hoping Luke comes back to AZ this Jan. to play The Shelley and The Maricopa again.
I LOVE my BERG!!
“Feelin like a big strong boy after that” I died 😂😂
that was definitely funny
This suddenly turned into one of my favorite tournaments I’ve watched this year. Also cool to say I have another favorite player to root for in Luke Samson
Really enjoyed Connor's commentary! Real relaxed and natural on the mic with great insights and fresh lingo.
Not the finish I expected but congratulations Luke. Will look for you next year and many years to come. Great coverage Ian and Conner.

Beautiful property. This course will only get better. Hope to see more of it on tour.
Great commentary. Beautiful course.
Congratulations to Luke. Well played. Amazing shots and distance.

What an amazing course design
Awesome coverage! Probably wouldnt just talk through the winners ceremony though
The RUclips ads are plentiful!! Good commentary, thanks for the coverage.
Great looking course - great coverage fellas.
THIS COURSE IS SICK
Let's FUGGIN' GO, Luke!!! I'm so proud of you, bud! Bee$ sending my love from Dela, here! Way to hold it down!
Fantastic coverage, commentary and location!! Well done, and congratulations, Luke.
And next week on Foundation disc golf’s podcast:
Chris Dickerson SABOTAGED by PRODIGY
Brodie Smith shares the inside scoop
Congratulations to Luke Sampson. Great course as well. Great job on the mic guys. Well done. 👍
I would have lost the bet when I saw Dickerson was up by 2 . Great win Luke. Amazing round was that close to 1100?
Was 1065 rated, but would honestly think it is worth more.
Great commentary guys this is top-tier quality stuff

sounds like they're building towards that, possibly they want some bigger money from the pro tour
Dickerson’s soft and floaty with little to no spin putt getting rejected all weekend by the prodigy baskets is absolute tragic irony
Need a petition to outlaw prodigy baskets 🤷♂️
@@unclejemima9079 I'd second that!
This is intense. Love the production value and the commentary as always with Ian
Loved this coverage !
18 gives me pebble beach vibes
I've seen Luke play only once before way back at Metro in Austin, finally getting to see him again, he's gonna be somebody to keep an eye out for. great win Luke
also wanna add that this coverage and commentary was really good, and this course is beautiful.
Great coverage. Great insight from Connor!
what a round Keep killing it out there Luke! cant wait to catch more of you on the 2023 tour
No mention of the Mike Griffith Ace on hole 13 during final round ? I know there wasn't video but a shout out would have been cool. 😎
Congratulations to LUKE SAMSON COULDNT BE A MORE DESERVING MAN. A TRUE GRINDER IS CHAMPION TODAY. HERES TO U LUKE
Spent the front 9 wondering what the hell the "Barracks" disc was lol. Great coverage guys and sick nasty round from Luke
I'm glad nothing unlucky happened on 14 to impact the round. I was slightly worried about that.
Great job Connor
Shout out to Magic Mike for hitting the $1500 ace bounty on hole 13

He’s got a tour series reko x out atm
Smiths side arm at the 36m40sec mark is 🔥. Seems like could had just stand stilled that disc 430 feet!
I love how Conner says “Berg”.
bairg
Incorrectly you mean? The Swedish actually sounds more like 'Berry'
Does he say Norway at 16:07?
Yea Connor was basically just saying that that stretch of holes has a very different feel to them.
@@iBenJammin It's true; I thought I had accidentally clicked into the PCS Sula coverage
Some fantastic d g this weekend
Way to go, Luke!! So fun to watch
So happy for the Kastaplast fam, you need a Berg in your life. Congrats Big Luke!!!!
Congrats 👏 Luke
Great win by "The Working Man" Luke Samson
Awesome to see him get a win
lovely course
What a great advertisement for the Bearg
Those prodigy signs got Chris on 16
Conner O'Reilly - 4.99 STAR COMMENTARY (.01 off for saying Ulibarri wrong at the very end)
Awesome commentary, get Connor back on the mic
Official pronounciation of Berg --> the 'g' sounds like the 'Y' in Yeet
Evan is soooo buttery
Hard not to be a luke Sampson fan, 12 down at lake marshall is top tier disc golf….
Let's!
I just lost a putter last weekend. I think it’s time to buy a berg.
Well played James Conrad,deserved win!
Kinda sad to see a player throw a round with only 7 holes to go....
Did Dickerson spit on the prodigy logo on hole 10's basket after his spit out? lol🤣

Chris Peniserson is great to watch🙌
So Evan Smith has his own logo? Evan Smith? Really?
I hate those prodigy baskets.
i protest the fake baskets. design championship courses that i can play after.
Prodigy baskets are the worst
berg. like iceberg. why is conner saying Bairg
He adopted the southern accent where it's more like Barj.
I like the way he says it. I assumed it was accurate. You don’t think it is?
@@discettegolf3363 it's more like Burger like Burger
@@FuckGoogle2 ???????????????
Because it's not an english word?
These baskets are not good
must smash chains, its part of the game to smash chains
Hole 14 ... NO
In regards to Chris. It's hard to complain about prodigy baskets when they're your main sponsor. He had so many bad spit outs.
Former main sponsor*
They aren't his main sponsor.
Connor’s bias towards Luke took away from his play for me.
I appreciated the gushing bromance
Kataplast represent
