I have been using Logitech G-733. They are super comfortable, look really cool, not bulky, very lightweight, and very easy to connect with a standard USB wireless connection. Also the Logitech G-hub is super easy to use, escpecially because I have the Logitech G-pro wireless. Everything feels really nice. Also, G-huh connects to my Yeti X mic which is really nice.

I've got an Arctis 7 and also love it. What surprised me the most is when you said "I'm not going to take off points for a mic no one is going to use." That's weird because I think MOST people, who aren't big into streaming, buy these headsets expecting to use the mics, which is another thing I love about my Arctis 7--for an integrated mic, is pretty freaking good.
Or, to put it more succinctly: I think you should've tested and rated the mics too. :-)

You need to make comfort it's own category. Really matters for those who listen or game for hours at a time.

    • @Volker_A4
      @Volker_A4 3 года назад +9

If you want long term comfort I wouldn't recommend a wirless headset tbh. Even my Arctis Pro gets heavy after a while.
I would however Highly recommend the Arctis 3 Bluetooth. You use it wired for gaming and it can wirelessly connect to your phone for calls/music simultaneously.
That thing is much lighter than my Arctis Pro and It's very versatile because of it. I've used it as a primary gaming headset before, but it's so comfortable that I also use it while I'm doing yardwork. Comfort wise I have worn that thing all day and it still feels cool and light.

    • @zitoc09

@@Volker_A4 This is a fair point however many people prefer the freedom of a wireless headset.
Some don't have the privilege to buy a headphones for listening around the house and a headset to game on.
I like the ability to get up and stretch, go grab a snack or answer the door while still listening and chatting with my friends.

    15:26 - I have the answer!!!
Just finished the video and yeah, I'm currently listening to phone audio through AUX while the last few seconds of your video are playing on PC audio with my Arctis Pro Wireless headphones.
Just have Line In hooked up, with your Arctis Pro Wireless audio selected as output on your PC, and then select the AUX source option on the base station. That's all there is to it. No need to get a new headset! Just make sure you're on the latest firmware and you should be fine!
I have only had mine for two weeks and updated the firmware right when I got them, so I don't know how old this is, but it 100% is not an issue anymore if this was a problem 2 years ago. I use this dual connection feature all the time. Hopefully you see this! You don't need to switch! xD

Full on 3D surround sound and great balancing. It works great with the Dolby Atmos app. They’re very sturdy and comfortable to wear, but they do get a little warm from the ear cuffs. First time I'll actually give my two cents in a youtube comment.
Firstly: Talking about wireless headsets and not mentioning battery life is a big omission. For example, the Cloud Flights 30 hour battery life should definitely be mentioned when talking about it compared to the others.
    Secondly, having tried most of these headsets, I'm beginning to feel like the ones Harris has, and the ones we have in the EU have to be different because;
JBL: Was trying to demo these a few times at my work, yet every time (on several different pc:s) downloading the JBL software, got me a corrupted text file every time, so theres something to be said about that.
Corsair: The sound quality the several times I've used them has been significantly better than the Razers
Biggest difference here, The Astro vs Steelseries:
I've had a few pairs of both of these headsets so far, and my experiences couldn't be further from Harris'.
    - The Astro sound quality is miles above the Steelseries. The (3) ones I've had from steelseries have been laughable in terms of sound quality. Everything is tinny, there is literally 0 bass to be gotten from the headphones (even with the leather "closed back" cushions you can buy for them) no matter how much you try and play with the EQ settings. After the third pair, and not getting any similar experiences from people on the interwebs, I was sure it was just me, but I've actually ran in to a few irl acquaintances that have expressed the exact same experiences.
    - The Astro EQ settings are also really not brought any justice here, I have 3 presets for very different things, 1 for gaming that is very crips and clear with still nice bass and can hear footsteps just as well as I can with my Sennheiser Hi-Fi headphones, 1 for movies with that lovely booming bass that really makes you feel like you're in a cinema and 1 for music which really brings out every little aspect of any song I listen to.
Now I don't claim to be an audio guy by any means, just a guy that really wants to hear stuff really well when gaming, and with a rather large head, want to feel comfortable in really long gaming sessions, and the Astros provide me with all of the above. I really love the hot swapping batteries in the steelseries, but it is seriously the only positive thing I can say about the headset.
TLDR: After several units, in the EU, for me, Astros have been better than the steelseries every time.
PS. Sorry for typos. English not being my main language and all that

Biggest issue for me atm is wireless audios delay. They have yet to address this really at all with any wireless headphones. Wireless mice and keyboards now exist with worse latency than wired ofc, but it is so close that it really will not make a difference unless u are playing on 360 hz etc 4k all the details uk and even then it is up to the skill of the player. Wireless audio is getting way better with the quality of transfer, and not the latency of transfer sadly. Ik this video is mostly playing to people who are probably avg at games and are not focused on hype exclusive things like this, but it sucks that using in ear monitors or overear audiophile headphones are basically what you do.

The Steel Series rocks for all the reasons you mentioned, BUT the one big problem is that the connection of the ear piece to the headband is a real weak spot and will break if you're not super gentle with it. That one failing makes the price point way too high. It's already a big ask for a one-time purchase, but way too much for a headset you'll need to keep replacing every year or so because of that engineering flaw.

As someone who had to replace a pair of arctis pro wireless due to a crack at the hinge of the ear cup, I ended up going with normal headphones, started with a pair of SHP9500 with a Bluetooth low latency adapter and was golden. Few months back got a pair of hifiman headphones, also with a BT adapter.
Aptx low latency isn't as fast as 2.4ghz, but it's extremely close and cheaper than buying another pair of arctis pro wireless while having better quality audio

My Arctis Pro Wireless is great. However I do have to say that my original one became bricked during an update. Steel Series Replaced it, but it was pretty annoying and they made me destroy my first one which seemed excessive for a software issue.
The headset could have easily lived another life as a nice wired option for someone, and now it's just E-waste. It was also a little uncomfortable snapping my headset into pieces and cutting the wires too.

As a user of the Steel Series Arctic Pro Wireless, they are honestly the best headset I have ever used. I was initially put off by the price tag. But after using them for a year I have to say I wish I had bought them soon. With working from home and being an avid gamer I wear these for 10 - 12 hours a day. I recomend buying some extra ear cups so you can rotate them out. Depending on how hot it is i usually change them weekly. Toss them in a container with some hot water and some laundry soap, shake them up, squeeze them out, let them sit in the sun to dry, good to go.
The steel Series has so much thought put into what it does and how it does it I dont think ill ever be going to another headset that isnt a steel series for a long long time

I've used literally hundreds of different headphones over the last 20 years and these are the best.

That being said,I found sound to be lacking with them even after tweaking the EQ. Main issue is the base, just weak IMO.
Another issue is that the headset is a "once size fits most" type and well,I am not part of the most. Even with the band all the way out,my ears are covered but just barely making it uncomfortable on the top of my head. I've gone back to my Hyper X wired headset and the fit is night and day.

I've had my WP's since they were released and they are hands down the best gaming headset I have ever owned. The only reason I tried to replace them with the GPro's is because my WP's broke for the 3rd time and are now out of warranty. I returned the GPro's and I'd rather use a broken set of WP's. The only thing wrong with this is that the right earcup is a bit loose because a plastic part broke inside. I'm working on a 3d printed replacement part for it.

I love the steel series one I had the wireless ones and loved the dac since I can eq it on a small device and high gain it too while simultaneously using the line in plugged from my monitor to basically hear all my console games thru my headset and my pc all at once. My only concern after two years was the main negative that most people have gone thru and that is the build quality. Where it connects on the ears more specifically on the right side, it always cracks or wears or is extremely fragile and cracks. I understand after 2 years things might go bad but I was not expecting the frame of the headset to go out in 2 years. Maybe the speakers or mic or something. I really missed that headset but I ended up upgrading to a GoXLR mini and 770 pros 80 ohms and a antlion mic and has worked flawlessly and sounds really good.
I did try the new steel series nova pros wired and loved the quality and the leather cups but I just worried it will break on my again and the price for that product was almost 300$ and did not equal to what I got. That's where I got a semi permanent headphones with the 770 pro 80 ohm and a mod mic that I can eventually replace with an XLR mic down the road with my GoXLR mini that can power a decent mic. Just made sense to me. I had to get out of that "gaming Headset" space cause you just get stuck with half built products almost intentionally for you to keep buying there new one down the road.

Deal breaker for me is I have a 7 7/8 fitted hat size. Arctis Pro Wireless do NOT accommodate a larger head. They literally will give you a headache even adjusted all the way out. I've owned just about every mid range wireless headset so I think you guys got a few things wrong. Like you I a lot of comparison and know what's The best overall for gaming and media. My comparison headsets,
Steel series arctis 7 and arctis 1, hyperx cloud alpha and alpha s, astro a20 gen2, razer black shark v2 pro, corsair virtuoso SE, senheiser gsp370, Turtle beach stealth 600&700 gen2, Logitech G933&G935 and the razer nari.
With that being said I've found that the hyperx cloud flight s, razer black shark v2 pro and Logitech G935 were the superior of all tested. I really think you gave the black shark v2 pro a low score. They are definitely over priced for the simplicity but make up in comfort, light weight, tri drivers, 3.5 mm port and overall sound. The highs, lows and mids work very well together bringing you the best emersion and situational awareness. For a true plug and play They trump the Corsair virtuoso SE in every department except the mic. The hyperx cloud flight s is so close in this sound field and another great option in this price range at $160. Surprisingly the Logitech even though bulky design has the best sound and software with the G935 at $130.

Hope you can do more videos on (wireless) headphones in the future, as they are an integral part of anyone's such setup.
Some feature requests, if you're up for it:
    1. Display the name of what you're reviewing, on the video, when you change between the units.
(Had to go to back to 2:20 or check the "description tags" section under description to find "Arctis Pro" instead of just "Steelseries").

  • @zap9243

I've owned several generations of the Astro A50s and this newer gen just feels cheaper than the previous ones. The padding on the headband is thinner and the little earpads between the drivers and your ears are also thinner than in previous generations. If you're coming from something like the HyperX Cloud II which are pretty light, it might take you a while to get used to them and it might even feel a little uncomfortable at first (on the headband), so keep that in mind if you're thinking of buying these. On the other hand, they improved the drivers and battery also seems to last longer, but that last one could just be me. Overall a great purchase if you wear your headset for long periods of time but if you're on a smaller budget I'd recommend going for the Gen 3s.
Edit: The Dolby feature is really good for listening to music and watching movies, but I find it impractical in games such as Counter Strike. It's pretty cool for games such as EFT (it actually works) and it really takes the immersion to the next level.

No one touches on this: when you adjust the volume on the headset, does it change the windows volume? That was the largest reason I stick with headsets with base stations as it could quickly ruin your stream. I currently use a Arctis Pro Wireless, and while /very/ pricey in Canada, I expect the Pro's to last as long as my old SteelSeries H (6 years before the plastic hinges broke).
