    I've been in piloting school for a month now, and man, the learning curve is rough. But every single time I went back up in the air to fly, it kept motivating me to push through it. Videos like this are really getting me more excited to get to this position of airline pilot, especially since it's been a dream job of mine since I was a kid.

    Great video. I have been a pilot for 30 years, and an International Gulfstream Captain since 2012. My son is getting ready to head to ATP for flight training soon. I feel like the sooner he can get in the pipeline, the better. As much as I enjoy flying corporate, there's no denying that the airlines have some massive benefits, especially if you have the years to give. It's a great time to be a pilot.

I started about a month ago and I am about to transition to my TOL's eval and I and say that in a month with studying, already passing the PAR, and about 11 flights in, I am enjoying my progression a lot. It really depends on what you want your end goal to be. ATP advertises to its students that it has a fast track program to the airlines. A lot of that fast track progression is because of the self study that each student puts in and the constant flying that we have as well.
      Although if you are interested in pursuing a career in aviation, I would do research first. Regardless of choosing ATP or a different flightschool, the cost of all of the training and progression towards the checkrides can be pricey. If you haven't already, I would go on a discovery flight with a local flight school to really get the feel of flying in one of their training aircraft to see if it is the right choice for you.

      You can do it, @mpepi8778. Jesus love you : He took your place of punishment by allowing Himself to be nailed to a cross - undeserving of punishment because He is holy and perfect, without sin. He did that - knowing that all of us sinners deserve punishment for breaking God's law, something we can never repay - so those who believe will be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ 💙 please do not rebuke Him, anyone who does not believe in Him will be judged harshly for their sins. Time is running out, your faith should lie in Him. He loves you and will save you , for He is the way, truth and life (John 14:6 ). If you reject Jesus you will be casted into eternal punishment - hell. Jesus loves you. Amen. Here's a prayer for you from Daily Prayer For You:

    I'm in the UK and things are very different over here. Especially with budget carriers it can be very difficult to get a day off when you want one and the amount of seniority you have makes no difference whatsoever. The pay is a lot less than $100 an hour for FO - halve that figure and you'll be about right. There are no or negligible staff travel concessions unless you make it to the likes of BA.
    I'm not trying to rain on your parade Garrett and I really enjoy your videos and I would agree that being an airline pilot has many plus points but I think it's important that guys this side of the pond go into the career with their eyes open. It's not until they are able to graduate to the likes of BA or Emirates that they will see terms and conditions approaching those in the USA that you mention.

Same with military, Helicopter’s you get paid fuck all for a long time but better hours and are really in control of the aircraft & flying missions. I am insanely passionate about all things flying, the only thing that really puts me off the airline industry is the control. How much are you actually doing whilst in the air? I love this! The only downfall is getting through flight training and the massive cost. With the profits all these airlines are making you would think they would start recruiting cadets and footing the bill of training until they can get the 1,500 TT flight hours. In turn candidates sign contracts binding them to time owed for x amount of years. Once this is done, I can almost guarantee, your shortage will diminish. Grab people off the streets and put them through training. All these airlines can afford to do so, I guantee it.

    I don’t think you understand how a 401(k) works lol. The airline is not putting money into your account AND matching. They are just matching what you put. Usually there’s some sort of max they will match up to. Rest is on you to put away.

    I’m looking at going to the military for 4 years and then beginning flight school possibly while still active or after my contract but do you think that it’s good idea to go that route or would it be better to just get the loan and go straight to a flight school? I’m 21 right now and I don’t want to wait too long and there’s so many different routes you can go in aviation I’m just curious about your opinion or anyone else’s as well

    • @EnsignRo_
      @EnsignRo_ Год назад +2

      Depending on your financial situation, 4 years in the military could be a good option. The Post 9/11 GI Bill can pay for your flight ratings at specific colleges, while also paying you a monthly housing allowance. If you're not interested in a 4-year degree to go with your flight training, there are other options to use the GI Bill for flight training but I don't believe it will cover the full cost of all the ratings. There are much faster options if you're willing and able to take on a lot of debt.

    • @jd8184
      @jd8184 Год назад

      @@EnsignRo_oh so you’re saying the gi bill mostly focuses on schools with 4year degrees?

    • @blakegilmer21
      @blakegilmer21 Год назад

      @@EnsignRo_ yeah I’ve hear the Gi bill doesn’t cover all of the costs but they will cover some but yeah I’m interested in going and getting a degree in IT and potentially working from home and then going to flight school so that I will have more time as well, there’s so many things that I’ve thought about but I’m just trying to get opinions on them as well but I have definitely thought about getting a degree and then working while I’m in flight school too and slowly get my ratings and stuff

    • @toegum7451
      @toegum7451 Год назад

      try going through a Cadet Program that some of the majors have , the GI BILL can be very tricky with the flight schools. I would save ur GI Bill since you can only use it once

    • @EnsignRo_
      @EnsignRo_ Год назад

      @@jd8184 It's been a few years since I've looked up options other than 4-year degrees for GI Bill funded flight training. When I last checked only certain flight schools were eligible and there was a yearly cap that would not even cover the cost of the Instrument Rating. 4-year programs at places like University of Alaska Anchorage will charge Instrument rating as a lab course. There is still a cap on how much the GI Bill will cover for each flight lab so if you require more than the standard syllabus you may need to pay some flight costs out of pocket. Also, You can get a restricted ATP with a 4-year degree.
