I come for the amazing scenery, authentic cocktails, engaging guests, and the “So Rad” blasts…but I stay for the freaking Artsy Enders!! 😎 If you leave early, you slippin’ ✌️
Omg I just found your channel and now I'm your biggest fan! That glass looks like its from the 50's! Beautiful! My loving husband just passes, not civic thank god we loved our cocktails every night together, you make me feel I'm not alone!!!!cause I still love the cocktails, thank you for making me laugh when you were talking about the egg!!!!!I really miss laughing! So thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't seen the glass before until the show tonight. I gotta admit, when you first showed it I was like ok, I guess just cause it's vintage. But when you filled it with the grog and the garnish I was blown away by how the glass brings it all together. Great episode once again Spike. Thank you!!!
Loving it, man!! Thanks for doing these... love the love for the time-traveling :) I've been learning a lot, and getting ready to do 2 tiki weeks in a row: Trader Vic's in Atlanta next week, then Makahiki in Indianapolis on the 11th. Cheers & Aloha!
Made this tonight and love it. I opted for a classic approach with a dry shake, a large ice cube shake, and then strained to a chilled old-fashioned glass and grated nutmeg. Have you ever listened to Juniore? They're a yéyé noir French girl band and their catalogue has a style that fits modern tiki, e.g. 'La route' or 'Mon autre'.
I’m calling it right now, Spike is doing a galaxy’s edge cocktail with his friend on the Mandalorian. There’s definitely a tiki vibe in the drinks at the cantina!
Maybe the Yub Nub from Oga's Cantina in Galaxy's Edge at Disney. Pineapple rum, spiced rum, citrus juices, and passion fruit (from their menu) served in a Star Wars Tiki mug!
Thanks spike for another great cocktail! Now I gotta go get some pimento dram and Rhum JM! I did find a bottle of cocktail foamer which can be used instead of egg whites but not sure if it would be a good substitute.
Spike, If you want to make a vegan version without the egg white, use aquafaba (it’s the water from beans). Way less gross and it acts the same as the egg whites. 😊 Organic chickpea (garbanzo) bean water would be my first choice. Aloha🌺🤙
so many glasses i saw in the early days that i passed on that i wish i could go back and get! at least TD still has a copy of the voodoo glass available
I know what I'm making tonight. I finally got ahold of some passion fruit pulp last week and have been making the Puka Punch this week. Tonight will be the Voodoo Grog! Great video, as always and awesome glass!
I have this flask of Baernjaeger. It's German Honey Schnapps or something. If I add a Tbsp of honey to a 1/2 oz of B-Jager, I get a hell of a syrup. Passing on tonites' conniption -- I'm not fond of messing with eggs, except for breakfast. I had a shirt like that, but it wore out, and it's gone. If. I had any foresight, I would have saved some strips of it to make into Hatbands for Panama Hats.
A bar in Denver (Stranahan's Whiskey Distillery) uses a dollop of ricotta instead of the egg white for some drinks in their lounge. Same froth and no egg smell.
I had to oder a bottle of Pimento liqueur after watching this. (Here in Australia we don't seem to have a lot of the random flavour boosters used in many authentic Tiki cocktails) To this end, I found a recipe for shelf stable Falernum, which tastes really good. I do not however have any point of reference as to how it should taste so don't know if this is actually good or not. Is there any chance you would be willing to make this Falernum based on the recipe I found, and then give a review compared to a store bought version in the states?? I figured it is still making a tasty beverage so technically still fits your channel, sort of, mostly. Cheers
Just remember, Steve the Bartender smiles while shaking drinks because he knows he can crush you with his pinky. Guess you'll just have to have him on the show to apologize.
One of all time favourite drinks, but it's one of the few drinks where I prefer blending it in a blender as opposed to a Standmixer. Something about the texture of the egg white and ice feels off to me But great episode as always!
Spike - I was laughing so hard at your egg white gag reflex that I thought I missed the dry shake (without ice). Re-watched that part and did it not make the cut? Mixer cups aren’t good shaking tins though. If you upload again with the booze added, maybe show this step too. Love your channel!
Beautiful, just beautiful. You can get vegan foam stuff in a small bottle that foams less and taste way less goopy than egg white. There's a few brands in Europe, so there has to be some in North America. It's not original, but again, way less goopy.
I'd love for you to see if the cutting the bottom of the lime makes a difference in amount. Like use 2 jiggers. Also why don't you show how much of the rum goes in the drink?
I think I accidentally edited that part out. 😵💫 But the proportions are also in the RUclips video description. 👍 there's a first time for everything. 😣
Regarding the 'mint game" I always smacked the mint on the empty glass before pouring in my drink instead of smacking it on my hand, but I always regarded it to be a personal choice more than anything.
OK, I've watched this episode three times in a row now, because I thought I missed it, but you only pour in the non alcoholic ingredients before you taste it! A little drunk while editing, Spike? 😂🥴
I'm watching this and thinking...you forgot to add the rum! LOL I waited for you to drink it and realize there's no rum but it never happened. Am I missing something? Weird. Saw the recipe in the notes so I'm making it anyway!
I'm with you, Spike. I think eggs are super gross. I took a drink making class, where we made a drink with an egg white in it- yummy! Great video, as always. I really want to try the VooDoo Grog!
I, for one, appreciate your mint game, good sir. 🙂
Thank you kindly

I always wonder how many people leave and never see that stuff... a lot of the viewers drop off after the cocktail is finished being made. 😭🤷🏻♂️
Spike's Breezeway Cocktail Hour Their loss!😬
@@BreezewayCocktailHour I always stay to end for the bonus clip and bloopers. Thanks Spike!!
History and Mystery all in one video! Keep killin' it Spike!!

Look forward to these each week. Watch on repeat obsessively. Better than TV.
I do enjoy the banter with the guests too. The recent lady guests have been really fun. Looking forward to more shows!
More lady guests on the way!
Great episode tonight Spike! Thank you for the immersion into your world. Aloha🌺
Wow! Very impressive. Love the cup!
Can’t wait bro!!! I love the vintage Trader Vic stuff! 🤙🏽😎🍹🍍👍👍🗿
Great video.Leandro has become my virtual cocktail mentor. One thing though...gagging and saying "Ewww gross!" doesn't sell the cocktail. Hahaha! 😁😉
😂😂😂
Loved this one
I love these! Cheers.

Love the glass great show!!!
Your mint game is on point Sir!

Great show brother! Nice egg 🥚 work 🤙🏽😎🍍🍹
You've inspired! I'm going to make this grog this weekend! I checked ebay for that glass.....DANG that baby is expensive!

I use a little plastic egg white separator, no mus no fus works great
As a bartender, Spike you are doing Awesome! You’ve improved so much. I look forward to Fridays so i can learn more about Tiki from you.
Nice video all the way to the end! Oct. 2nd can't wait!!

Your mint game is strong AF, man.
give that egg yolk to astro!
the colors on that glass are beaut!
gold and teal glass....such class
Where is the rum? Haha! cool glass and presentation too.
I just realized that I must have cut that step out of the final video! 😵💫
Was wondering the same thing myself haha. Had to rewind it cause I thought I missed it

But great episode as always!
Interesting 🤔
Yeah bro!!! Don't Skimp on the mint!!!!!🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🍹🗿🤙
Rookie move, NEVER smell the egg white!
What book is it that shows the pictures of all the glassware?

Ditto. I just rewound again. No booze. Although I do love Rhum JM. Also the reason you had room for more ice in the new/vintage glass.
@@andrewperry5593 yup 😂
Yeah, I think I cut that scene out by accident 😵

I didn’t see that you added any Rum to that drink??? Or did you not put that into the vid?
More mint, what a about corks?
Yes!!!! The Breezeway Broadcasting Network (BBN)!!!!
Hahaha
October 2!!! Where??
What kind of mint are you using? It looks like lemon mint?
Whatever it is that they sell at the grocery store 🤷🏻♂️
Nice glass
Go Corks!
Yessss
REALLY looking forward to this one... just don't put that beauty in the dishwasher!
Uh, Spike Buddy, you didn't film yourself putting the rum in before you mixed it. Go back and check. Take 3, go...
Seriously, how is NOBODY noticing he didn't add rum?!?!
I noticed that instantly, but had to re-watch it to be certain!
I know 😵 now I have to hear about this forever... I'm wondering if I need to reupload it with that scene in it
@@BreezewayCocktailHour You do you, big guy. The real star of this episode is that glassware.
So jealous of the glass
Dump the visceral feeling. Embrace the egg white. Keep up the great work.
Honey....mother fff.....lol
So.... eggs really freak you out, eh?
Only in cocktails

Don’t skimp the mint dude! The more the better!

Voodoo Grog, smells bad makin’ it. Tastes good when it’s done! 🥚🥴
Totally
Sorry, Spike, my money is on Steve. He's 6'8"! 😳
😂 no kidding!

I'd pay big money to see that fight...
Ran across that glass once but passed on it. Wasn’t willing to drop the $100 they wanted for it ☹️
team more mint!
Hey Spike I like your show but...
You'll never be as good as Steve the bartender.
Shots fired!
@@BreezewayCocktailHour
lol...cool.
Ive watched this 3 times and you never used the rums
You forgot all tha rum... 😅
Egg white in drinks is great lol this was dramatic
You have everything in the world but you don’t have a fucking grater? Come on, dude.
Haha... 🤷🏻♂️ it just arrived today
