I tried playing with a calloway superhot bold in red, (found ball) and the visibility difference was amazing. it may have something to do with the tint in my glasses, but it looks like a hot ember and is immediately noticeable if it is in sight at all.
I agree with bright coloured ball other than white but yours looked green to me. I use both callaway super soft yellow and green. Bright green really works for me.
Where I play in Canada, we use push carts. On it, I can put up my umbrella on the cart handle and stand under it as I push my bag around. I also have a full-size rain cover that covers my bag. I take out my balls and tees and carry a few in my pockets and in my little basket on my rig. Great tips. Towel under the umbrella to dry hands.
How very apt, when I purchased an amazing deal on a Deluxe cart bag I didn’t realise it wasn’t waterproof! Bingo , today off Amazon my big can of Scotchguard waterproof spray turned up, for £799 for 400ml sprayed the whole bag…….. happy days ! Even if I do it every now and then it’s certainly worth it 😎 thank me after you’ve done it !
A trolley with a brolly holder is a must in rainy conditions. A cap with a beanie on top of it also keeps your ears warmer, might look daft but in the pissing rain nobody cares, the bucket hat idea with a cap underneath is also a good shout as well.
I only do three things for playing in the rain. One umbrella, two waterproof shoes and three waterproof bag and cover. Keep a towel handy for drying off my hands and grip and I am ready to play. For cold weather I just want one thing. A thick coat I can wear all the time, except when I am hitting. I cannot play in layers
Lots of good info! The only question I have is regarding taking the one club-length drop from an embedded ball. I thought the rules said for club length you have to use your longest club, is it different for this situation?
I confess me view is that if it starts raining once I'm on the course, I'm prepared with FJ rain gloves, waterproofs I'd trust for walking the Lakes and so on. That's life. If it's hammering down when I get to the course, why bother going out? That's a different scenario. However there are proper winter high cut boots that really do the job of keeping the feet dry and offering max traction. FJ 50090K boots with proper cleats for example. I don't use them often, but they are great when I do.

So, that’s tournament enough for us I guess. I used to play a specific 2 day flighted tournament every year. I would shoot near par on Saturday to get into the 1st flight, then shoot around 80 on Sunday. I figured out that I obviously wasn’t cut out for it. lol
@@nisch2379 I have stopped before, yes. But, I’ve also finished it out, if I had a good round going. Just depends. I’ll ride side by side in the rain, or hunt in the rain. However, golfing in it just isn’t worth it to me. Hey….I understand why someone would though.

Rain hoods are a complete pain in the arse.. The amount of times I see golfers pulling them back to get clubs out of the bag so getting their hands wetter than using the bag without one..
Increase pace of play and decrease your pre shot routine to keep as dry as possible but then take the time to mark your ball and measure a proper one club length relief from an embedded ball???
With a trip to Bandon Dunes next week, playing in the rain appears inevitable. Good tips. Thank you

Use one of the T bag handwarmers and place in moist glove.In drizzle it keeps them dry for many a hole

For me the best thing is to check the weather report the day before I'm supposed to be playing. If it's going to be a rainy day I stay home.

rain hood tip: if it's likely to rain, don't take the rain hood off. got it.

I wear glasses , anything more than light drizzle and im in the bar . Slippy grips , wet straps , cant see and just all round misery , sod that 😂
