- The Waverley, the last seagoing paddle steamer in the world, steaming into Porthcawl harbour,South Wales,U.K. on a wet, windy miserable June morning..... Wednesday 17 June 2009.
Gees, what terrible weather. I haven't ever seen Waverley in such rough seas before. Great video @Stewie1155. - Luke
I was a 18 year old barman on this ship for one summer. Great laugh. Fantastic times.
He sure seemed to come in fast toward the dock, but stopped on a dime. Wow...skill
I was on board at the time - it was a great trip despite - or perhaps because of - the weather.
At penarth we transferred to the Balmoral for a cruise around the Holm islands, but had to return to Swansea by bus from Penarth as the weather had deteriorated further.
I love a boat trip, when I was a kid my Dad offen took me onto the boat to Ilframcombe, The Bristol Queen And the Cardiff Queen where the two boat used under the White Funnel Flag, Brilliant time which I shall never forget. I went on the Waverly a couple of years ago smashing just smashing
I was the ships purser when we took her to London for the very first time
