    I'm just making a guess but 99% of the cargo that Starship is going to launch will be fuel and oxidizer to the fuel farm.
    The fuel farm is going to be a beast in its own right. It might make sense to use an inflatable bladder tech instead of a specialty starships. Where do you locate it? Starships have to be able to reach it with some residual fuel if they're ever going to stockpile. Then there's the issue of having LARGE amounts of combustibles on orbit. Its going to need shielding from debris and possibly the Sun and power might be helpful to curb boil-off and over-pressurization of the containment vessel.
    The things a POM geek thinks of.

When the disasters hit the survivors went underground and developed inner earth civilizations. Humanity had to start over and unfortunately we no longer had the knowledge of building those megalithic stone structures even today. So I can see how Elon is focused on a similar scenario. I don't focus on the fear of nuclear destruction of Earth, because I believe that their are E.T.'s that can stop that from happening.

    My degree was in Production and Operations Management.
    I retired as a division manager that orchestrated the daily work assignments of 400+ people.
    I would love to work for you in exchange for a seat on your first Mars crew.

      Yeah I got some of that but SpaceX is still a separate entity. Maybe spin out Starlink and let long term holders of TSLA have some of the pre IPO. That’d be nice and something Musk has mentioned in the past.

      No, you really don't. Elon wanted to take Tesla private for a reason. Public investment curbs innovation, investors will be demanding quarterly profits at the expense of multi-decade mission that is not clearly profitable ever

    • @lawrencefrost9063
      @lawrencefrost9063 Месяц назад

      There is. Want me to walk through it? One option which I believe Space X is pursuing is to fly a Starship to orbit, then fly another three ships to refuel the ship. With a fully fueled Starship you can use that fuel to speed up the process to Mars. It takes just a few months like this. Two to three months.
      Secondly, even if you take your time, the probability of being irradiated to the extent that you get cancer is actually very low. The best way to think about the radiation problem is to compare it to smoking. You will increase your chance of cancer by a similar amount. People willingly pick up smoking, willingly increase their chance to die due to cancer. They are taking a similar risk due to space travel Mars. It's not a big deal.

    The main reason why we haven't seen any aliens is that space is huge. The distances between star systems takes very advanced tech if there ever will be any, to traverse. The star systems that have received our radio transmissions and had the time to send an answer are very few.
