  • @MBAandcolleges
    @MBAandcolleges Год назад +2

    Hey brother, do you have any idea about how they confine the nmat score within the 50 percent ( the calculations behind these)?, lets say They take base as 50 for a score of 260, then 250 will be around 48 and 240 will be around 46 which is not much of a difference and crossing sectionals should do good enough and rest should depend on how I perform in the wat, pi, watson... Right?. I have 240 nmat score with 0 workex. It looks like I am kinda at the edge and hence these questions 🥲..

    • @EnvIshaan
      @EnvIshaan  Год назад +1

      I understand the unrest. Your score is not bad, but having workex matters a lot. Do well in Watson Glaser and essay, try to maximize your score in interviews too. If they like you, they will select you.

    • @MBAandcolleges
      @MBAandcolleges Год назад +1

      Thanks a lot brother for the reply, but the weightage is only 10 percent for the interview. So, doing very well in the interview will do the job? Like many other colleges..

    • @EnvIshaan
      @EnvIshaan  Год назад +1

      @@MBAandcolleges It's not just the weightage. Interviewers have sort of a veto power. If they want you in, you're in. If you want you out, you're out. And only if you fall in between is when they will consider other criterias like your grades, nmat score etc. 80% people fall in the category, so try to be in the 10% that are just let in.

    • @EnvIshaan
      @EnvIshaan  11 месяцев назад +2

      I would suggest against going to either at this stage. Let me tell you why. I'm sure they would be great colleges, and some of their top students can get decent packages as well, but 2 things are at play, and it applies everywhere. 1. One can think the brand name NMIMS carries, but it doesn't. Recruiters are smart enough to make that distinction. Case and point - difference between top and new IIMs. Second, the market this year and probably the next year will be abysmal unless things improve. Last thing you want to do is get stuck in a college where you cannot get a good summer internship, because the best way to get a job is a good summer internship and then converting it. Many top firms don't come in final placements and only come in summers, give their PPOs and close their cycle

      As far as I remember off the top of my head, there were around 5k students that gave Interviews last year, and around 1200 got the merit list call, of which some leave and some stay. The numbers can be slightly off since I don't remember the exact numbers now.

    i saw somewhere that nmims results come out in march and if one gets selected does he need to book the seat immediately or else he'll lose it or can he wait for iims to announce their results if he feels he can convert them and if he doesn't then he accept the nmims seat?

      That's correct. You need to book your seats immediately, but you get a refund in case you don't decide on joining. The 100% refund will be applicable for as long as 15 days before their season does not start.

      It depends. If you want a career in consulting only, maybe you can reconsider. If you want a career in Finance, NMIMS is one of the best in the country. If you want one in marketing, maybe you can ask the seniors from the college as they can give a better picture.

      I would say aim for 40. 40 is a safe score for call, but maybe not a great percentile. Anything above 42 will be good. Sectional minimum would be 13 for VARC, 12 for quants and 9.5 for DM. Aim for scores higher than this. @@Writersstopp
