I am also finding there are some topics in language which are not there in cat, like grammar. Could you please help with exactly what all extra we need to study for NMAT section wise and resources from where you studied that?
@@asmitamandal3606 Hi Asmita, most of what is mentioned is quite intuitive. However, I referred to RUclips itself whenever I had any doubts. Again, most of these are quite intuitive.

I scored 220 in my NMAT this year without any preparation for NMAT I just gave it for fun without knowing anything I am currently preparing for CAT I didn’t even gave my best in NMAT I didn’t even fill the form for NMIMS because I didn’t, can I get any good B schools in that score in NMAT
You can, but I wouldn't suggest going to any other NMIMS B-School other than Mumbai, reasons simply being if youre doing an MBA, do it from a place worth it. Your NMAT score is decent, this is your base score. Give the exam next year with preparation and aim for 250+
If you can't show your workex, talk about it during interviews. Also, your cat percentile makes no difference in XAT, snap, nmat. So study well, try official mocks. Set a timer, attend all questions without fail with extra emphasis on starting questions of each section. Study your cat syllabus, as well as time series, syllogisms, blood relations, clock questions

252 is a great score. Gap may be an issue but since you're saying you had a genuine medical condition, maybe you can talk about what you did in those 3 years? Also I've seen people not converting even at 265, and I've seen people convert at even 236 marks. So it all depends on how much they like you. Try not to sound cocky during your interview, be polite but knowledgeable (think before you answer, no shame in Asking for some time). You will definitely go to the interview round. All the best!

XIM, KJ and Tapmi do not have a sectional cutoff as far as I remembered. And yes of course, you can do verbal first, it's your strategy at the end of the day! I found verbal to be the easiest, so I wanted to do it at the end because I would not want to attempt quant or DILR at the end after hours of my brain getting worked..
Hey!I really enjoyed your video- it was incredibly immersive. I’ve completed the two free mock exams given by GMAC and am considering purchasing the additional two. Do you think some of the questions from the mocks might be repeated or follow a similar pattern in the actual exam?
Most probably. Congratulations on the score! Start reading news paper for atleast 30 mins daily till your other exams are done, and then dive deep into exam preparation. Also, download InShots for news updates each day.
Well, I'm not really sure how to answer this. Grammar is a long term commitment, it comes intuitively. In the short run, maybe try previous year mock papers of NMAT, or word power made easy by Normal Lewis. I am suggesting these since you asked for resources, but I still believe your best bet during the exam would be intuition.
@@subhrodeephazra6039 Wren and Martin is more than enough. NMAT grammar is similar to GMAT grammar, and anyway, either you know the term or you don't. You can make calculated guesses, look at successors and predecessors, any commonalities, etc. So yeah, wren and Martin is more than enough
QS - 78 LS - 87 LR - 74 Overall - 239 in NMAT. Is it possible to get a call for NMIMS Mumbai this year? When will they email us regarding it and when does the interview usually happen. Thanks in advance.
Hi @EnvIshaan I want to know if you attended different interviews for the NMIMS MBA and MBA HR programs? also if we give the interview for One institute will they share it with other collages or do we need to give an interview for each and every NMIMS collage (Bglr/Hyd)we applied for?
Hi, My overall nmat score is 249 with sectional as follows: Language skills - 81 Quantitative skills - 79 Logical Reasoning - 89. Can i expect a call from NMIMS Mumbai considering my language skill score?
Hi, bhai. Hope you are doing well. I am a General Male Engineer. I scored 65% in 10th, 55% in 12th and 62% in graduation. I also have a 1 year gap in my graduation. I have 3 years of work experience in IT sector. What are the cut-off CAT scores for new and baby IIMs ? And after I get into an IIM during the job placements do companies check 10th and 12th scores ? Is there any eligibility criterias the companyies keep for the 10th and 12th scores or will I be eligible for all the company interviews during placements ? I am thinking to do MBA in Finance. I am very stressed regarding my career as I am already 28. I should have given CAT earlier. Please assist.
Hi bro. The profile seems quite difficult to go by, your academic scores will be a major hindrance, so will the gap and so will your age. I am sorry to say, but even for new IIMs and baby IIMs the cutoffs will be very high, closer to 96 or above. Even for private colleges, this will be an issue. Companies do check for your previous grades for Summers and final placements, so even if you do make it in, it'll be difficult to land a good job. I'd recommend making lateral shifts as it is in your job, and maybe try abroad, or go for an executive MBA from some top B school. If you still want to try for CAT, try to get as high a score as humanly possible. That's the only thing in your control!! The reality is sad, but you got this! Let me know if you need any more help.

Hi I have scored 194 in nmat mock test by gmac so how can I improve to at least clear the cutoff any suggestion got 70 in english 67 in LR and 57 in maths and I have exam on 5 December.....
Maths is the weaker section here. Read up on the quants necessary for CAT, the level will be slightly lesser than it, but you need that practice. Be realistic with your expectations, you need to score close to 90 in one section if you are to just pass in maths.
If you cat didn't go well, then you can focus on SNAP, MICAT and XAT. Your NMAT score will not be sufficient for NMIMS-Mumbai, so you might have to take a break yes.
hey, I scored 241 marks in nmat exam language 89 reasoning 80 qa 72 And my acadaemic profile is: 10th - 100 % 12th - 95% graduation - 83% will I get a call from NMIMS Mumbai and if I get it what are the chances of the call getting converted to admission please reply….
Most probably you will get a call, QA might be a little touch and go, but you'll most probably get the call. Your chances after that depend on a lot of factors, your Watson Glaser, your essay and your interview. While the interview score has a low weightage, make sure to do well there because they would take you in if they like you, and they won't if you don't. I know people who score 260+ with a 8/8/8 profile who didn't make it in.
@@ronaldo910 Yes, of course! With this score you'll most probably clear the NMIMS Mumbai cutoff itself, so you'll definitely clear the XIMB HR cutoff for sure
Hey , I really liked your video, shared some solid points .I went by a lot of other videos on yt but i did not see anyone mentioning anything regarding the importance of attempting the initial questions . Do not get me wrong ,but is it actually like that? So my attempt strategy should be to maximise the no of initial questions i get right? Devoting more time on those questions? Could you please clear this up for me .
You're exactly right! Point is, initially getting questions right is the key, so spend enough time getting the first few right. You can skip a few tricky questions in the middle and make up for it at the end. But your start is the key.
There's a youtube video by Idin Sabahipor, so please give that a look. Watson Glaser is simple, the video will help you know how it works and how to solve it.
It's not irritating at all! I understand the frustration. Your QA score is very borderline. Even if you make it in, it'll be very very close. Last year you would have missed the cutoff for QA by 1 marks, so I can't say for sure, but it's very very close.
I have secured 79.5 percentile in B TECH CSE. One year gap is already there. This year(2024) I have secured 298 in NMAT a few days back. Will I get NMIMS MUMBAI and would it be worth joining by spending so much amount?
My home based MMAT was conducted on 20th October. I had recieved my raw score after the exam got over. After 2 days instead of getting my official scorecard there was a Hold Placed. They said that the attempt was given for auditing and that it'll take 5-7 business days. It's been 2 weeks after my exam and there's still no update. What should I do?
From my understanding (I might be wrong), Hold Placed usually occurs when there are doubts about unfair means used ie. cheating during the examination. Since you have raised a query, I would ask you to raise another, asking them the reasons for the delay- maybe they will fast-track your process, and maybe they will give you the reasons why your paper is not accepted. Hope it helps!
Hello sir, I wanted to ask usually how much difference is there between official mock scores and actual paper scores. My scores in mock attempts are 227 & 240
There's not a lot of difference, but the interesting part is you got such varied scores in both your mocks. Is it because of difference in preparation between the two mocks? Did you change your sequence strategy for sections? Or is it just luck? The mocks exams are awfully close to the real exam. I scored 264,260 and 263 in my mocks and scored 261 marks in the real exam.
@@EnvIshaan actually when I gave the first attempt, I was not that much prepared and then after 3-4 days after preparing some topics, I gave the second one in which I scored 240. And in the first attempt, since that was my first ever NMAT pattern mock, I also missed out on few questions as I was not able to manage time accordingly.
It's been a while since you posted this video, I hope you see this comment and answer my question. I am a general male engineer (GEM), I have a 9.6 CGPA (91.2 %) CBSE in 10th, 78.8 in 12th, and 95% in graduation (SRMIST), do I stand a chance in good IIMs or even in baby IIMs if I do well in CAT.
Your 12th might be a hinderance, however your 10th and grad scores are great! So definitely aim for all IIM's below top 6, and aim for a 97+%ile for the best possible results.
Hey buddy scored 202 on nmat qa-65 diLr-66 VA-71 any chance for NMIMS hyderabad campus or should i re -attempt ? profile -9/7/9 (engineer) , did some full time internships also maintaining family business.
Last year's cutoff was 206, so while you're close, I'm not sure if it'll be enough to make it in. I'd anyway suggest to aim for a better NMIMS college, if you have to, maybe give it next year again? Or there's many omets left this year too, so focus on them.
Hi, can you please tell me the process after the NMAT exam in a little detail. As in do we need to do anything or will get calls directly from NMIMS? Are the calls program specific or it is general call and programs are selected at a later stage? Basically what is the first thing that happens after the exam and what should we wait for and how long? Thanks you in advance!
Hello! Hope you're doing well. I'd be really glad if you could answer my question. I'm a general, non-engineer female. My profile is 6/6/8. My graduation year is 2023 and I'll be sitting for the exams this year itself. I don't have work ex but I've done an internship, few certificate courses and have held several roles of responsibility during my school and college days. I wanted to know if I had a chance in any of the new/baby IIMs or in any of the top B-schools, provided I score a good percentile?
Hello! I believe IIMs put in a lot of emphasis on acads, so it becomes quite difficult with these scores. However, new/baby IIMs can be cracked by getting a high cat score and doing well in your GD/PI. Private colleges like NMIMS/MICA/SIBM are better choices, as while they put in emphasis on acads as well, it's still possible to make it on with these scores. Hope you find this useful! If there's any other questions, do let me know
It's the same place you would study for CAT, with just a few other topics (I have mentioned them in one of the comments). But make sure to not judge yourself on random mocks; try to give specific adaptive mocks like the official ones to get an actual picture.
I got 221 in My Nmat with 68in QA, 81 VARC IN AND 72 IN LR Can I expect a call from NM Mumbai Or Bangalore? Do you have any idea regarding the cut offs for Tapmi via Nmat?
I'm not sure about TAPMI. It'll not be possible to get a call from either nmims Mumbai or Bangalore unfortunately. Bangalore might be a slight possibility, but a very very small chance
hey, this is an awesome video. I scored above 250+ on my nmat exam. I have a score of above 7 cgpa in 10th 12th and grads. I come from a science background and did B pharma, can I get selected in the interview process? I have work ex of more than 1 year, but only doubt I have to be rejected on behalf of my academic fields As I don't belong from the Engineering or commerce side, I have no knowledge of this field. My past job was also as a physician assistant in US healthcare. please clear my doubt
Your NMAT score is great! And your overall grades might not be the best in 10th-12th-Grad (with respect to CAT selection, you obviously would have put in a lot of effort for 7/7/7), but they are not a deal breaker even. Now as for your stream and previous background, the difficult part would be to make a correlation between what you want to do and what you have done. Why is it that you, as a medical expert would make for a good marketer or financer? Have conversations with people from good colleges who were previously in your shoes (LinkedIn is a good platform) and help your preparation from there. All the best!
I am not sure if there is any particular channel that helps with NMAT prep. The best channel for NMAT would be Learn4Exam as it's a channel dedicated to NMAT, and I think there was a channel that used to solve NMAT mocks on Oliveboard. So search for that, that might help!
Hey man, thank you for this video, really helpful and informative. So i have 10cgpa in 10th. 90+ percentage in 12 th, and 7.7 cgpa in Engineering, also with 18 months workex in core industry(mechanical-civil). Got 255 in nmat. Is it good and what do you think about my chances for conversion? Also preparing for cat so what can i expect from cat colleges? Because i think my grad score can be a little trouble maybe, need an expert's advice!😂😂
Hello! 255 is an Excellent score in NMAT (according to previous years). Assuming you clear the sectionals, you will be called for an interview there in person. Do whatever, but make sure to not come off as stubborn or rude, or a know it all. Be comfortable saying I don't know the answer to a question. You have a pretty solid profile, and good thing is they have defined percentages for all segments, Watson Glaser, Essay writing etc. So you need to do a good job in all these. Interview is more like a screening here. If you do decent in your interview, or atleast don't give them an opportunity to not like you, you'll make it in as long as you do well in other segments. A 255 NMAT score will definitely help you! Hope that helps
@@EnvIshaan Thank you for the information. I got 77, 89 and 89 in quants , language and logical. I will keep your mentioned points in mind and for sure will again watch your video before starting my preparation for the Nmims interview. 😁😁
There's no specific number of questions ypu should solve. It's a test of score maximization in the beginning, and taking calculated guesses towards the end. And yes, attempt all questions without fail.
From what I have heard, it's not worth it. Long way to go. But, do your due diligence. If I was to recommend you about the college as of now, I would not recommend it.
@@sidhartha_21 That is a great score! I would recommend you go only for the core campus. I am not sure if XIMB still accepts NMAT scores or not. The only other college I would recommend, if you absolutely cannot take a drop, is NMIMS Bangalore, but I'd say don't look for any other option. MBA is a very expensive game, and you will be heavily in debt if you don't choose the right college. So choose wisely!
Hi bro, just had a major doubt I have the official mock 1 & got a score of 204 is it the actual level or easier compared to actual exam pls reply if psble
It is not mandatory, but even losing one question will negatively effect your overall score. Please attend all the questions, there's no negative so you won't lose out on anything even if you make calculated guesses. You can solve around 80% questions easily, it's the remaining 20% that are difficult to solve. Recognise that, and take a guess on them
I appeared for the NMAT exam few days back , my score is as follows - QUANTS -68 DILR - 88 VARC. -98 TOTAL -254 any luck with getting a call from NMIMS MUMBAI. the quant section appeared difficult to me when compared to CL + GMAC mocks. Have you received the same feedback from other students or that is the case only with me?
Also, the same situation happened last year as well..I know a lot of people who've scored similar marks to you, so let's hope the cutoffs comes around 66-67, but I wouldn't count on it. There's a real chance still, but do start preparing for other exams too.
@@EnvIshaan hey, thankyou for response. Did you find the quant sectional difficult/lenghty than prior years or recieved similar feedback from other aspirants?
@@harshdhanania4448 I did not give the test this year, but I believe everyone is scoring the same marks as last year, so I'm assuming the cutoff will be the same +-2
Hello, my 10th, Diploma and BE scores are 78%,62% and 5.9CGPA. Worked in construction industry for about 4 years and decided to quit coz of stupid work culture and low pay, they weren't even paying salaries and experience letter. I did manage to steal a few letterheads and company stamp before leaving. Would you recommend doing what I am thinking ? According to you will they deeply investigate into the experience letter matter and how can I answer about my gap after job? As of now I've been learning to code in python and java. Thanks in advance!
They will not, but if you do get selected, they definitely will, so I'll absolutely suggest against it. Your profile seems a little difficult to work with, as you have a lot of work ex, an operations role as well as your acads are not 8/8/8, even after a 95+%ile it might be difficult to get a lot of good colleges. I'm not saying this to discourage you, I'm saying this because this is the harsh reality. 3.3 lakh students are going to give cat this year, and every percentile will be even more difficult to get. So give your absolute best, aim for a 99%ile and keep that as your main focus.
Hello may I please get your attention as I really need help and guidance I am a general non engineer female I got 67 %aggregate in 10 ICSE ,69.6 %aggregate in 12th ISC and 76%in my graduation that too not from a very prestigious college I also do not have any interships till now and have not been very active in school or college I appeared for CAT this year that is 2023 but It did not go well so shall I prepare for CAT 2024 Are there any chances of any of the IIMs Please tell me
Unfortunately, I don't think it'd make sense to wait for IIMs if your score is below 90%ile. You might have to apply again next year, or you could still try for other exams!
Thank you so much but the my main question was for next year only that with this profile is there a chance of getting baby IIM or new IIM next year For this year I know that I won't be getting it I mean with this profile shall I give one more year to CAT Please do respond to this question 🙏
@@KalpanaMishra-i3p You know the truth about your profile. Honestly, the risk to reward ratio is sort of messed up here, you need to touch the 95%ile mark for new IIMs and a 92%ile+ for baby IIMs, and that's an optimistic number. So if you can get a good job, maybe try to do that for a few years before trying again? Or if you're sure your preparation was good, why not! You have the target in front of you. But just know a year gone is always a sore spot, so make sure to make the most of it
I have a score of 79% in 10th and 75% in 12th and 6.9 cgpa in college. And I have started preparation for cat last month and has given few mocks in which my English and lrdi scores were decent but maths has been a problem. So what are my chances for nmat ? I don’t have work ex as 2023 is my graduation year
Colleges give a lot of emphasis on acads, which is not ideal, but it's the truth. Even if colleges like NMIMS put much less emphasis, it's still a criteria. If you want to give NMAT, give it's official mock only. I've noticed a lot of people give normal mocks, only to feel their score is abnormally high/low on the real day
Does not matter. You could clear it with two weeks worth of studies and fail with 6 months of prep. The quality of mocks you give and how you follow up on the feedback will matter a lot more.
Does not matter. You could clear it with two weeks worth of studies and fail with 6 months of prep. The quality of mocks you give and how you follow up on the feedback will matter a lot more.
Of course!! It's not the duration, it's the preparation that matters. If you've been preparing for CAT, you are already through with the theory mostly. Just a few more topics, and some adaptive practice, that's all you need
@@RUTUJACHAVAN7 Tab toh mushkil hoga thoda. Because there are a lot of topics to be covered as mentioned in the video. Maybe give NMAT as a practice test this time? 2 months are a lot, but it depends on what you make of them. Any score less than 235 will not fetch you a great college, and I would not recommend a subpar NMIMS college. So give it your all, all you need for preparation is mentioned in this and my previous videos. But even if you're not able to make it, that's okay, next year bhi de sakte ho 😇
Possible, Yes. Difficult Yes. You need a really high score in both interviews and NMAT to offset your shortcomings in the other sections. It's not your fault entirely, but it is what it is. The MBA market is really cutthroat at the moment.
Try to find patterns in the passages. Elimination always helps, the answer always contains keywords from the passage, and the answer always makes logical sense. Usually you can get the question down to two options, it's just recognising that pattern that'll help. It's difficult to cover over a video, but I'll try!
Depends, what are your expectations. Famous college name with okay expectations with salary? Sure, take it. But if you want a high paying or high position of responsibility in a firm, then no.

Let me know if you need any more help.

please reply….

Will I get NMIMS MUMBAI and would it be worth joining by spending so much amount?
Obviously yess go ahead 🗿
Btw what’s ur study material
I m giving cat king mocks are they good or very easy
My home based MMAT was conducted on 20th
October. I had recieved my raw score after the exam
got over. After 2 days instead of getting my official
scorecard there was a Hold Placed. They said that the
attempt was given for auditing and that it'll take 5-7
business days. It's been 2 weeks after my exam and
there's still no update.
Well that explains it, give the third mock as well and see your score. If it's around 235-245, you can be sure that's your real score
@@EnvIshaan Actually tomorrow is my exam and I haven't purchased the paid mocks, so is it worth now to purchase it?

I wanted to know if I had a chance in any of the new/baby IIMs or in any of the top B-schools, provided I score a good percentile?
Hello! I believe IIMs put in a lot of emphasis on acads, so it becomes quite difficult with these scores. However, new/baby IIMs can be cracked by getting a high cat score and doing well in your GD/PI. Private colleges like NMIMS/MICA/SIBM are better choices, as while they put in emphasis on acads as well, it's still possible to make it on with these scores. Hope you find this useful!
