Thanks for this. I am a 45 year old married, straight man who is very interested in the industry. And I do have reservations of the career simply because of what you said. It is historically seen as a predominantly female career. I carry myself well and work well with people. Literally in the process of interviewing with two airlines as we speak. Have you seen any men my age in your career working on the airlines as flight attendant? Great video sir. Enjoy your travels.
I’m 28, and I too enjoy working with people. Currently I work in a grocery store, and I enjoy providing customer service and working with the public. It seems like a very interesting job. I see people who come in my store wearing airline uniforms. I always ask them what they do for the airline. If I could work for an airline, I would work for United
Love your great attitude ! I resigned a couple yrs ago (after working 6 yrs) as a FA. I wanted to go back to school to pursue another career. I enjoyed being a FA, especially after I finished "reserving"😏 but I enjoy my new career more! Good luck to you and be safe!✈
I’m a heterosexual black male aged 43 with 16 years of customer service experience (with one company) and 8 years of experience as a U.S. Marine and I have my F2F with Delta next month. I don’t care about how ish looks I’m confident in myself and I know that lifestyle is for me as I’m a avid world traveler on their isn’t a better career for me.
Hey this helped alot I'm actually a bigger black male my self and I honestly felt subconscious and it was one of the things holding me back from doing it
What you mentioned about being a straight male flight attendant ,goes the same for us straight male nurses .We deal with the same stereotypes about male nurses. You’re not being petty about exes ,I’ve dealt with the same stuff.I’m currently retired from the bedside, and would be interested in being a flight attendant. However ,I’m 64 yrs old and my age would not be a plus ,though I’m healthy.
When I started as a F/A in the 70's there were not alot of male F/As, so we sometimes had to put up with not so nice comments from passengers, and even sometimes some pilots. Don't mean to say it like this but we broke ground for the male F/As today. It is not uncommon to have an all male cabin crew now. We could only be between 5'6"and 6 foot not shorter or taller, and of course you couldn't weigh even a 1/2 pound over the weight limits, as a matter of fact the first thing they did was weigh you even before they would interview you. They even made me walk across the room to see how I walked. Glad they can't discriminate against anything now, that said it was the best career ever. It was truly a blessing!!
Bro, I'm actually considering a career as a flight attendant. I'm currently in nursing school and thinking of moving on from a career as an RN for various reasons. My sister is a flight attendant and she absolutely loves it. If there is a way that we can connect, I'd love to chat to explore this possibility.
