I had a bad motorcycle accident in remote Australia last Sept. I damaged my spinal cord at C4/5 and C5/6. initially left me totally paralysed but my legs came back quickly but my shoulders and arms are coming back slowly. Yours and Empowered Para’s You 😊Tubes have helped me understand what my body is going through, especially spasms, as my whole body did it at first and now it my upper body. Hi Brittney. I love you videos and have been watching them from the beginning. keep up the good work! as someone like me who is 23 years into SCI and the wheelchair life I am still leaning from you and understanding myself more. I really enjoyed your podcast with Fred. funny and informative and I will be watching more of feeds videos. I have been to Edmonton in 03 and 07 and stayed with my old school buddy from back in the 80s who now lives in Edmonton. I have done the long drives over the Rockies to Banff, jasper, Kelowna and Calgary a few times and you are lucky to live in such an amazing country with mind blowing scenery. Thank you so much for your Efforts, Ps I live in England.
You are my top 2 favourite RUclipsrs for SCI. I was injured in August last year and I’m now a T6 Complete paraplegic. Thank you so much for not only this video, but for all your content. I’m now totally independent throughout the day and recently returned to work. I couldn’t of done all of this without you both! Thanks again, Michael
Wow Michael that’s incredible, you should be very proud of yourself, you’ve moved on faster than both of us did. If I’ve played any part in helping you along in your journey then that means the world to me, as I’m sure it will to Brittney too 😊❤️✌️
Mate, it hasn’t been without its challenges. I suffer from a lot of neuropathic pain and I can’t seem to find a solution to it other than more medication which isn’t great for work. I also have spasticity so I feel your challenges there too! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, it means more than you could imagine ❤
I think being yourself and doing everyday things are interesting to people, because they can relate better to you and their own disabilities. I'm a bilateral amputee in a wheelchair, and I have learned a lot from people who are paralyzed. Thank you for this video ❤
You guys are great and doing a fantastic job, I’ve been a para for 44 years, but I still love learn new things, Freddo I moved 1200 miles from where I grew up for better assessability, affordability, and don’t regret it, empowered Para you rock you are very helpful, hope to see some camping videos, that’s how I found you, by the wheelchair lift on the RV. Hi Freddo, Just found this channel via Brittney from Empowered Para. Looking forward to checking out the content. In the short bit that I've seen, it looks like an interesting channel. I'm personally in my 22nd year of this bizarre lifestyle of paralysis, and it's awakened my sleeping Spirit within. Christ likened those with a sleeping Spirit as to being "dead," and I can clearly see that now. When I came into the realization that God's kingdom dwells within His Creation (Man), it connected with my Spirit and awoke my sleeping Spirit from death. Anyway, Freddo, I'm looking forward to finding out more about your channel. God bless you!
While I’m not so keen on organised religion, I do believe my life is better since my accident and gratitude has been my spiritual awakening. I guess it’s similar to prayer. So I can relate. Thanks for checking out the channel and the other comments you left. I hope you find value in the other vids ❤️✌️
I found you through Brittneys channel as well and loved the interview and your content. Addressing why females have more followers and this is just purely my opinion and insight on it. I am recently injured, 10 months in and am an L2-L5 incomplete para. 98% of my friends I made in my stay at rehab are men whom I still talk with. I encourage them to watch you tube videos or even follow people with an sci on line as I found it to be my life line right now. They are reluctant or can’t see how it would help. I hope as time passes and the pain and transition of learning to live with an sci changes, that they will connect here! I am going to share your channel with them and with my support group I attend! Thank you for your content I am greatly appreciative!
Fantastic, I have made a playlist of the most helpful vids, in my opinion, so that would be a great start. The wheelchair vids on RUclips saved my life! Richard from Wheels2Walking and Brian from Paralysed Living especially- both channels I would highly recommend and their content is evergreen. Thanks for the kind comment and I hope you find value in the other vids ❤️✌️
Thank you for sharing this awesome conversation with us ! I did not know Brittney('s channel here on RUclips), but this is something that has to change now :) !
Love your channel and glad you're covering topics like this. I grew up with a paraplegic dad and feel my 'alternative' upbringing with challenges and experiences made me more empathic and interesting. My dad will always be my hero and he's an absolute warrior for surviving a major urological operation last week at 69. Keep producing your great content, hugs! 🫂 And happy Spring equinox everyone too 💜 🌼 🌸 🌻
That's incredible. I hope to be a dad one day, and it's inspiring to hear that your upbringing was nourishing and you feel good about it. Obviously it is something I'm a bit insecure about, but this comment gives me a lot of hope that I can be a great dad one day - thanks for sharing ❤✌
@@FreddotheWheelchairGuyYou're so welcome and I'm glad it helps you to feel more confident about hopefully having your family one day. I think we're around the same age (I'm 39 now) and from Yorkshire, UK. My mum was actually his nurse once he flew back to Sheffield hospital after an accident in America at 24. They've been married 43, almost 44, years now 😊 Never felt disadvantaged and all of our school friends were cool about it even in the 80s and 90s! I've met other kids over the years with a similar background. In fact, we have family friends where both parents' are blind or hearing impaired too. Such differences are more common than most people realise. All the best! 🤗❤

What a joy to see them together! I follow them both, also Richard, although he hasn't uploaded a video in a long time, Shane from Canada "ParalifeTV" Tanelle "Pro Tips For Para" from Canada too, he hasn't uploaded in a long time, Gem England "Wheelsnohells" and more, I enjoyed the conversation because I identified with the sense of humor that you both have, I wanted to say something about work, I think the transition you made before going back to work is sometimes necessary, when you go back to work. After learning how difficult it is to live "empty" days, you enjoy it more. If you return to work earlier, you feel that you work with physical limitations that you did not have, you do not know how to get the most out of your wheelchair, you are not prepared to face the people's looks, I think that sometimes waiting is good, the case of Britney being a girl when she was injured is quite difficult, that's why it is so necessary that the two continue uploading videos, also so that parents or relatives learn to develop the child's potential, a hug to both of you ✌️☮️🍄 😜 🤗🤗
Great comment, thanks 😊 You’re right, it was the 4 years of being unemployed that makes my job so sweet. Still, encouraging others to return to work earlier is a good thing.
