Ah the good Ol’ former Rolling Acres area. This actually used to be a former Sams (controversial restaurant) then a Dennys. 5:10 that used to be a Handy Andy hardware store.
Yeah that place used to be a Denny's I remember it being there. We used to go to Rolling Acres a lot going up. I saw my first movie in the movie theatre there. The Lion King. We stopped going because of how bad the area became. After that we just went to Chapel Hill, and/or The Summit Mall.
The building that is now a ReStore was once a Builders' Square, which is a lost home improvement store chain. I remember visiting the JCPenney's at the old Rolling Acres mall in the late 2000s (during the financial crisis) when I was very young.
ya i used to go to the jcpenny outlet there a lot when i was a kid! i used to get a lot of clothes from there as they had name brand stuff a hell of a lot cheaper than the other places... after the mall closed that jcpenny outlet was open for a while after the mall closed..
I live in the area it was a Burger King that moved down the street by the V Odem ramp. The empty lot next door used to be a Mcdonalds that also moved, the Habitat Restore used to be a Handy Andy hardware. I went to the mall until nearly the day it closed, was friends with the theater owner so I would go there for movies. They also had a JC penny outlet that was nice at the mall. All that remains of that time is the Long John Silvers, though technically Diamond's Men Store was inside the mall and just moved outside
The building behind this restaurant was a Children's Palace when it was built. Marc's took it over shortly after they closed. Marc's closed in 2004. The Pet Supplies Plus was connected right next to it. It's now a shredding company and I swore a spray foam insulation company but I'm not sure if they're still there.
yes it was a Denny's closed in 1999, 2000.. and Mcdonalds was right down the street.. both closed do to three times a day robberies.. it was a hills that close 3 months later and then a children palace and when it closed in 1991'is is was 20 other stores is that last 30 plus years.. never go to that area at night if you wanna live..
Hey there WallieB26 one thing about this restaurant is that it kinda does scream burger king but of course there are no drive up windows for you to pay at one window and then pull forward to the other window to pick up your order
There Was A McDonalds There To The Right Or Left Of The Buliding DependingOn Where You Are Standing!!! I Don't Ever Remember A Burger King Being Up That Way But There Is One At The Bottom Of The Hill On Old Wooster Ave!!! But Yes It Still Looks Like You'll Catch A Squatter Or A Tumbleweed Or Two Rolling Around Up There!!!
as far as i can find out on google maps some views show w-18 a wing restaurant before being judd's. before the wing restaurant it was el puente a mexican restaurant. go figure. also there was no burger king over there as per google maps it was just a storage place as far as i have found out it was called storage america. in the building next to the storage place it was furniture and mattress liquidators.
I agree with your Bojangles comment! We stopped at the Mt Vernon, IL one and they didn't have any bone-in chicken???? I mean, really??? It was in with the Loves Truck stop, but the Bojangles was quite large. Not sure who is making those decisions but it's pretty dumb. Enjoy watching your videos!!
What hasn't this building been. I think the last tenent was a mexican restaurant. Rolling Acres area was a booming part of Akron until the mall shut down. Now its a total dump.
Looks like even with the Amazon center on the mall site that area is still for the most part a ghost town :(

Oh yeah I forgot about Sam's, actually it was Sambos Restaurant. Closed up in 1978 my brother was A cook while in high School ,at the one in Kent .
It was indeed a Denny's. Had many drunk, late night after-party breakfasts there back in the early '90s. 😂

It used to be Denny’s when I was little. I miss Rolling Acres.😢

Looks a whole lot like an old dennys even down to the parking lot. Interior also how it’s set up .
Awesome 👌 video
Looks like a old Denny's to me as well.
Awesome Wall
that empty spot you mentioned was the wings 18 sign :)
It was a Dennys
It was a Denny’s back in the 80’s and 90’s.

I wonder if they took the ceiling fans down so they could replace ceiling tiles or put new wood up there.
It used to be a Mexican Restaurant Closed up during COVID And a Denny's a Long time ago. IDK about a Judd's Barbecue

Storage America was part of the old rolling acres mall. In the back where Target was.

I like the video.
I believe there was a shooting in the parking lot there that injured three people. Could be why it eventually closed.
Childrens palace was the restore building. And toys r us and kids r us was the two separate buildings down from restore
Restore was Forest City/Handy Andy. Children's Palace was next door
That was a former chi chi's
Was it an IHOP...
Rolling acres turned to amazon conustril store
Possibly an IHOP?
Cyraxx sent me here camp goblin
Actually it was not a Burger King it was an old school McDonald’s right next door.
looks like a Denny's but it was once a Mexican restaurant for a long time
