The Georgetown Terminator was my grail when I was a kid. They weren’t ever sold locally but Jordan 1’s were so I always coveted these. I still wear my terminator grunges and was looking forward to this release. Thanks for the review!
Those kicks slam magazine were my holy grail for shoe history. Back then it was too expensive for me to buy all the shoes I want. So I just enjoy looking at them in those magazine, I still have them at my mom’s house in the Philippines. Planning to bring them with me the next time I’m back for vacation.😊

Takes me back to Villanova and Georgetown national championship with Ewing, David Wingate ,Reggie Williams and co. I just didn't understand what Nike was trying to do with these. The colorway was nice but it looked to me like a hybrid between a Air force one and a Jordan one. Definitely takes me back to high school.
I was curious and just searched the newspapers archive for Nike Terminator ads. They start showing up for sale in September of 1985. Thanks for reviewing these. I've been waiting for this model to come back for a long, long time, but I think I'll skip this release. Hopefully the Terminator x CDG collabs are closer to the OGs. I associate these and Reebok BB 4600s with the older metalheads who'd beat me up at the arcade. They had great taste.
I was super interested in these if they were built like the air ships or 85 jordan 1s. I was scared they were gonna get the Nike dunk treatment which they did. 😔
I rocked these in 8th grade during my skater days!! I had an Independent sticker that I placed over the large NIKE logo in the back. I wear a 10 for all my AJ1's so not sure if I should go 9.5 for these? So excited to see these re-release despite the lackluster materials. Thanks for the review!

Noticed the toe box shape immediately. Sucks as someone who loves 80's bball kicks. Overall, they still look cool on foot but the poor shape has me second guessing whether I'll pick up a pair.
Thanks NW - taking your advice on sizing and going down 1/2. And agree; toebox looks dreadful…might have to do the wet towel and iron trick to try to ‘un-box’ them. Very sad about the leather- this model in this CW should be treated as an SP release.
I love the cutaway as Chris has a little 'personal time' with his magazine 😁 That said the toe looks like they used an Air Force 1 last. Some proper cushion and materials could have made these so cool and the people would be salivating for them.
These remind me of Fayva Shoes, this was Payless before Payless (at least in NYC) at some point they got Nikes, and they were slightly irregular, like these kicks look and feel. We called them Yikes... but they were the only one's we could afford so i rocked them!!
Gotta grab the 03'- 07' versions. They are good quality and the toe box is nicely shaped. I recommend the bone and red from 07' and the 03' Georgetown.

I got them cause I've always been a fan of the Big NIKE and needed a pair of blue and gray kicks for the gear. George Town Terminators you can't go wrong.
I think the magazine got it wrong because when the 1986 footwear catalog was released, it shows both 1985-86 releases that were meant for 1985. But since players get it earlier, it would make sense to put it in 1985. Also, according to the catalog, the terminator highs had PU midsole, so i'll need some clarification for that.
There was likely a PU insole on the OG that isn’t present on this Retro. When we spoke with Russ Bengston about this issue of Kicks he said all the timeline information came directly from Nike. Which is why it’s hard for us to believe it’s wrong when it came directly from the source/brand. But who knows. Maybe they were seen in 85 and not released until 86? 😅
I got this in Philippine two weeks early through Nike Apps. No notification at all from Nike. It was weird because within one day, the shoes no longer in the list. Lucky to have it.
BTW the toe box on the older 03ish pairs are much different from the 09ish pairs. 03 much more slim compared to 09 which are more similar to these 22 pairs
These are the 84 Hoyas Championship shoes worn by Patrick Ewing. The shoes worn by John Conner in The Terminator were the Nike Vandal high in black, silver and white. They had the silver Velcro ankle strap around the top and were canvas not leather.
I remember these, I think that Georgetown wore these back in the late 80's and early 90's. I thought that the Be True to Your School pack was all Nike Dunks? Anyway, I'm a little surprised that Nike chose this model to retro, but I do remember it being a good shoe back in the day. Thanks again for another great video!
There's nothing wrong with the shoe for most people. I find the material feels better than the basic Jordan 1s and priced much lower than Jordan 1 high. It's not the most comfortable shoe in the world, but it'll do just fine. However, I do find the sole are oddly very slippery on wet surfaces.
They retroed this GTown OG colorway in new shape in 03-04, then a very close to OG shape but in VNTG touch in 2008, but we’re very hard to find in the states…it was mainly a JP Asia release How do I know? I have both lol, and the 2008 VNTG quality and shape is A1!
I still have that issue in a box in my closet. And it's so many shoes that they don't retro that would sale and would be cheaper to produce like the Pippen ii and the Ndestrukt Worm.....

I think they wanted them to give them a cut from the shoe sales and took them to court over it. That’s probably why little information is out there about these shoes and why they never continued making more of them back then.

Yes, seen on Georgetown players in ‘85, but eventually released in ‘86. That’s when I was able to get my OG Michigan High Dunks.

Every Jordan 1 released this year have box toes I had to reshape them to that dope toes shape from a few years ago

i got a pair for $60 from ebay coming in. I feel good spending that much for it after watching this,
manage to get the green terminator on discount, feeling the same like AJ1 minus air unit, the brown velvet SE colorway also nice.
I wish they would bring back the Nike Big Low/High. That shoe is was better imo.

Did anyone see Winning Time? These remind me of the shoes Phil Knight showed to Magic Johnson? Those shoes had "Magic" at the back of the shoe.

The toe box is probably heavily coated like the dunks so it’s plastic vinyl coated leather. Maybe something Rose Anvil could find out ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
