I charge the shippers or brokers by adding the tax to my rate. Just like stores do with sales tax. Pass it on to the costumer.

Man! I'm really enjoy the content you putting into your videos, I can really tell you trying to help folks out here that are serious about this business. I got tuned into this business after a few acquaintances of mine asked me to help their friends get some insurance for their new trucking businesses. And I started learning about the business that way. And now I'm looking to get into the business. Do you have a Mentoring Program or a Patreon Membership that helps folks get started in the business? Please let me know cause I'm very interested. Thanks!

Great video! Would you help me by writing down the cliff notes on screen as you talk?
"Remember...
1. ...
2. ...
Etc"
Do you have a video how to register for Connecticut highway use fee ?
Hi David. Thanks for your well educated videos. Your teaching strategies are very much appreciated. Love the whiteboard! Professionalism and accuracy is seldom seen on RUclips these days.
As an Owner Op, other than the obvious FEIN, DOT/ MC numbers, LLC filings, permits, etc, is it necessary or a requirement to have a Business Licence?
Thanks, Tracey
I’ve never had to have a business license
@@TruckingFromScratch Thanks! I'm working on getting set up. I always thought that with all the filings required, these were enough. Thanks for clearing this up.
@@TruckingFromScratch hey David im getting set up now I've been watching your channel for a few weeks now i have one question about this subject if i only plan on driving through the state of Kentucky and not the other states you mentioned do i still have to pay taxes and have permits for those other States?
Thanks a lot for this video. I want to get the KYU annual truck driving permit if you can tell me where I have to got online to be able to requested. Thank you
Can you make a written list of theses permits and post it
Is there any easy ways to get track of the miles you do on those states?
I couldnt find the video where you recommend RTS, but is their factoring agreement industry standard?
Thanks David great video as usual? Can you give me a list of companies, apps, or brokers... that an owner with a new authority can work with? Thanks.
The link to the list is in the description of each video
I need help getting intermodal drivers for Chicago area any ideas?
What about California? I believe they require a mcp permit?
Is there a permit that an interstate carrier has to get if they pick up in a state and then deliver in the same state?
How about box trucks?
Do you need any of these permits for running a box truck under 26000 lbs non cld?
Is there there company who will get you all the HUV permits with one click? TY
What about New Mexico??
I really appreciate for the video you post.
Can you please get my sales tax exemption for my trucking company in Indiana?
Google “Indiana ST-105”
Anybody want to answer this question? I started a trucking buisness I have my authority. I am contemplating on buying trucks and just hire owner operators to run the loads? I seen his cons about other people running with your authority but it seems like the best thing to do is hire a dispatcher and have them work with the brokers? Thoughts????
Guess I’ll never drive through Oregon
so for the states that requre permit cant you pay for one at the boarder? i dont often go to these states thats why i ask
did bruh really just bust out in a oil promotion video! def was not expecting that
do you offer benefits to your drivers?
Hey what drug program you using for new comers
Does KeepTruckin log miles per state or does the drier have to keep manual logs of miles driven per state? Good info !!
KT logs miles
Hey man, can you give some real life examples of how to attract OTR company drivers?
dont pay em shittily, and dont require crazy amounts of experience and be willing to train well are the biggest things thatll make guys want to come to your company
Hello David. Next week I will be calling DOT to initiate a Safety Audit. My authority is 5 month old. I know you spoke of Safety Audits in a previous video, and the company that helps you prepare it. Can you help me with this? Thanks
La Senda Enterprises can help with this!
Good information!! I’m a Dump Driver here in California, what do I need to do to be able to bid on jobs?
Sorry but I have no experience with that
@@TruckingFromScratch Thank you brother, keep those videos coming.
Hey David, did you ever put that course out?
Not yet
Thanks
Let's say I'm authorized to operate interstate, but I only operate intrastate. Do I need MCFT ? or IFTA ? or both ? lbs.
yes.
How do these states know how many miles you've logged in them and do they just mail you a bill or is it up to the owner to calculate the tax?
Interstate Vehicle Mileage Report (IVMR), driver notes odometer reading entering and exiting state, notes the highways and interstates driver, and miles driven in each state.
So elaborate on why switching to a non-combustible engine isn’t a good investment??
Do you have to report your miles to Kentucky, New York, New Mexico, etc even if you don't drive in their state?
yes sadly...even if you didnt do it in their state
Do you need a brokers license to broker your loads to other carriars? Or just the MC/DOT number and the know how? I always get mixed answers on this, saying the "brokers license" and "broker classes to obtain 'permit' " is complete waste of money and bullshit.
Is a "brokers license" even a real thing in logistics? 😅🤔
BTW Excellent video and thank you so much for your tips. Great Oil too. 😂
I’m not a broker but I’m pretty sure you need the broker authority to broker loads
@@TruckingFromScratch
Thank you Ill keep look more into a brokers authority but the answer is still not clear if you legally need it. Cause you, as a company, can book loads right now, so what is really stopping you from booking a load from a shipper youve obtained and selling it to another company? From the research Ive done this far, you just need your DOT number to book loads, then i asked my company and they said i need a brokers license, but i don't trust them cause i hear the opposite and feel like they just don't want me to branch out. 🤣
If you find out for sure, that would make a good video.
Thank you for your input and taking the time to break things down in videos.
Hi, coming from the 6 websites every trucking business need to know video. I'm not able to see any download links to see that resource. I would really like to have a solid understanding of these things before I book a consulting meeting so we can be on the same page. Could you please tell me where to find it?

@@TruckingFromScratch Thanks!
Do u have to have your CDL or have to drive the trucks to own a trucking company?
no
0.21 cpm in Oregon?? What?!
I am a new owner operator, my MC authority have been active for just over a year. I file my IFTA through the state of NJ, but NY is asking me to pay HUT ralated taxes, is HUT an addition to IFTA?
Yes it is. HUT is NY’s highway use tax
@@TruckingFromScratch understood, thank you for your prompt response.
What’s the weight requirements for Oregon permit?
@Pinned. wtf u talking about. What’s the point in trolling me? He said weights for each permit except Oregon. I researched it already tho. Thanks for the info bro💯
That commenter was spam. It’s gone now
Do you do trucker taxes if so whats your contact info
So we calculate the miles and they don’t hit us with a bill ? You say that because we do get scanned, so how will we know how many miles we drove through any of the states?
ELD
@@TruckingFromScratch good point.. Thanks.. On the fence but watching your videos for about a month now almost got me over that scary pill lol… thanks
Shell Rotella. OK lol
I just watched a commercial 😳
Ok I want to know ho does Il know that you drove through their State? If you filled up in Indiana and how would Il know you drove on their roads to tax you on? Why can you say you filled up in Il and then drove in Indiana so you get a IFTA refund all the time? Lol i know this is not ethical and illegal but I just want to know the anwser .
Get you an intro bro after your intro statement
Aye man, stop reading my mind!
@@TruckingFromScratch lol love what you doing brother ! keep it up, aspiring young business owners like myself. Thank you 🙏
Uncle sam just loves collecting those taxes
Most small businesses fail , and the main reason behind all other reasons is not putting enough brain in a growth strategy.... a fellow creator
Bro how much are they paying you to promote their products real clever but always dropping gems for the ppl
I don't know, I don't know 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You forgot to mention Tolls. People wonder why foods, materials at Home Depot, at Lowe's are so expensive? Ask the damn government!
You don’t need a permit for tolls
I wonder if all the drivers are actually paying these taxes to all these different states
Only if you pass through those states, if you don't. Travel to say NY or KY then you don't need to pay those taxes to then since you're not traveling through them.bits like the new 17 company tax in Connecticut, it only applies if you pass through that state
Hell nawll
@@Montoya1991 he meant it like "are guys actually bothering to even pay these taxes to all of these different states, like they know they should be" ....i know a lot of guys dont
Somebody copied you word for word on a different video lol
This is why y’all need to quit running loads for less than 3 bucks per mile. Cost of everything is thru the roof right now, so should the cost to ship the shit. QUIT KILLING THE GAME FOR EVERYONE ELSE!
Bro just stole the whole content 😂😂😂 I just watched the same video with different people
I didn’t steal anything. I posted this video June 2021.
