Amazing encounters.. Vava'u Northern Tonga we had a week of awesome humpback swims including - Up to 12 males on a Heat Run pursuing a single female. Males hanging motionless singing and you could feel the vibration. Mother and calf 'logging' at the surface chilling out allowing us amazingly close. Mother and calf diving and rising so close to us. Plus one or two escorts. Breaching... The tenderness and tactile interaction of the mother and calf we spell binding. Life enhancing experiences... amazing hosts and amazing food.
In moorea it’s permitted by the government to swim with whales with properly licensed companies and guides. The boats must keep a 100m distance and that’s where the swim to approach them begin
