Thank you. I have a peculiar use case that I was hoping you could try. I am outputting to an OBSBOT UVC to HDMI adapter so that I can get a HDMI wireless stream from the Osmo Action 4. The adapter does not provide enough power to keep the Action 4 charged so I'm looking for a splitter that will enable Type C power into the Osmo 4 and webcam or (data) out to the OBSBOT. If it plug the Action 4 into the OBSBOT, the Action 4 prompts for Webcam mode. Would you be able to see if any of the splitters you have allow for Webcam out and power in ?
Have you connected the camera to the USB-C port of the OBSBOT adapter ? That one is specified 5V 2A and is more than plenty for the camera. The Osmo Action 4 only needs about 3-4W, if the internal battery if charged.
@@RubenPicsthat's a shame. Because the USB-A port only provides 5V 0.5A, which is 2.5W and you need between 3-5W. So yes, that's not going to work. What I use instead when I want to convert USB to HDMI, is a LinkPi ENC-1 V2 encoder. That is compatible with the DJI cameras and it can take it's USB feed and output that to the HDMI out port.
@@EmeraldAudiovisual I worked it out - it is messy. Find a splitter that has usb data and usb power and has a usb c to go into the OA 4. Take usb data to OBSBOT's usb a connection. Power the OBSBOT as required. Plug the splitter into the OA 4 to get offered Webcam mode. Then plug usb c into the splitter power and the OA 4 powers up (I started at 96%) to 100% and maintains the 100%.
I have a microphone which only has Typ C receiver. But using a cage doesn't allow me to plug it in to Dji Action 4, because of no space. Which cable or adapter do you recommend to use on Dji Action 4? Type C to Type C. Humble Request if you have any solution. 🤗
@@EmeraldAudiovisual Yeah, that's what I'm asking. Any cable you recommend? Because there are unlimited versions and I have no idea which one will work. Many of them didn't work.
On the DJI Osmo Action 3 you can NOT use an external microphone while charging. That was the entire problem for both the Osmo Action 3 and Action 2. It is only fixed from the Osmo Action 4 onwards.
belkin rockstar usb c to usb c splitter also works according to wayne's recs
The Belkin adapter is a lot bulkier than the one, I found, though.
Thanks for the testing! Since it doesn't work over UVC, does it work over RTMP? I think you mentioned they fixed the RTMP issues in the last update.
I am planning to work on testing OA4 UVC vs RTMP for a video this weekend, seeing they've updated everything. I'll make sure to include it.
Oh .. and they didn't only fix the RTMP issues. They've added ALL stabilisation modes to the RTMP on the OA4 !!
@@EmeraldAudiovisualI saw! Such a great change! If rtmp is comparable quality and stable enough I’ll prefer that over UVC.
Lots more freedom with RTMP for sure.
Thank you.

Hi@@EmeraldAudiovisual , yes I tried the USB-C port but I did not get the Webcam prompt on the Action 4 unless I used the USB-A port.

@@EmeraldAudiovisual many thanks. I'll look into the LinkPi .

You could use a type-C to type-C extension cable.
