I never understand all the hate on Elena gilbert all of a sudden. Like its a new trend it wasn't there before. And the reason people comes out now a days to hate on her always made me laugh. Its like almost every other character did the same shit but but they single out Elena all the time. This is what I'm talking about! This scene literally ripped me in pieces as well as the entire fandom. The amount of emotions portrayed in the scene and the aftermath... it ruined me. And also the way they symbollically made that complete separation between Elena's old and new life, it was brilliant. Pure genius writing, and acting given by the entire cast, but especially one Miss Nina Dobrev.
Its funny Ian does so many interviews when he talks about Katerina Graham (Bonnie) us his legit favorite person on the cast. Also. Nina's acting on this was just NEXT level. 😩👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Also I really liked what Damon said to Stefan. That he is not enough. It remaind me of what Stefan said back then after they lost Alaric. It's just interesting too see how different these two look at certain things. For little clarity - what I'm writing is not meant to compare the brothers to find out which is better or worse. Then Stefan said to Elena that she have him in way to console her. And yes, it bring her a little comfort, but dealing with things on the basis of "we are together and everything you need is me" is a little valid sometimes. Damon knew that he won't be enough for Elena or even Stefan wouldn't be. He understand that loosing someone goes beyond just having a boyfriend to heal or support. It can help, of course, but love won't overcome everything. Love is not like magic and sometimes even love is not enough. Damon is willing to help Elena even if she needs more that just him being around.
Incredible episode, how much this girl has suffered, since the beginning of the series losing her loved ones, she has done so much to keep her brother safe, being completely alone in this world must be something terrible, she has done everything to remain that that is, hated a lot by the public when characters like Elena were once highly regarded.

How humble he is Damon never considers himself enough for someone, I don't agree that he has turned off his humanity, but he doesn't know how to manage his emotions and his pain let alone of his beloved, of someone. I wasn't very surprised when I did it.
6:05 always a good thing to do shoutouts to Damon's facial expressions. The only way I watch TVD is by rewinding everytime and several times when Damon does a noteworthy facial expression, eye thing or walk.
I'm not support fully what Damon did, but I think that even the sire bond wouldn't help to calm Elena. We know that sire bond affects actions, not your feelings. And in this scene the problem was her feelings, the pain that she couldn't control. He told her to calm down but she didn't cuz it's not how the sire bond works. Turning humanity was a risky choice, but at that moment I think that it was the best option to help Elena.
I agree with you neither I do not agree that he has turned off his humanity but Damon does not know how to manage his pain and his emotions, let alone the pain of those he loves. Elena and Damon are almost completely opposite in character but they have something in common that is pain, Elena being more dramatic the pain consumes her to the point of making her mad and psychologically does not defend herself let the pain consumes her instead Damon defends himself when it overwhelms him the pain by chasing away the pain by hurting around him but at the same time he punishes himself by making himself hated by those he loves and those who hurt him.
It's such a sad episode (I recently made a list of my top 10 ssddest tbd episodes, this got spot 10 🙈), but I really love the brotherly Defan scene and also the Damon & Bonnie moment. Seeing you in denial with Elena was an interesting thing to happen I've to say
Jeremy had the tattoo before Elena stabbed him in the neck, yeah. But him being Supernatural wasn't triggered until he killed his first vampire after being chosen, which happened after she stabbed him in the neck.
1:08 A little clarification: While it is true that Jeremy had the Gilbert ring when Elena killed him while under the effects of the Hunter's Curse, he was only a "Hunter candidate" not a full-fledged Hunter. That's why the Ring revived him. In this case Jeremy was a Hunter member of the Brotherhood of the Five. That's why the ring can't revive him.
Little fact Elena was not acting in that scene she was actually crying about someone in her life that she lost during the same time. Also Paul looked at the director and they put it in that scene.

If they gave Elena more character in some situations and a little more ease and less drama in general in the series, more master of her life, it would have been the best character in the series.
