@@solidn6 true, I hate when movies have like 2 minutes of credits in the beginning (although Marvel Studios is the best opening to any movie ever, and Star Wars)
It's a pretty neat idea. I feel like this transition pays hommage to or at least reminded me of the "hat transition" scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. (young River Phoenix Indy in the desert of Utah gets his iconic hat put on, looks down, looks up and seamless transition to adult Harrison Ford Indy on a boat fight) I kinda was in the mood for something like that when approaching Uncharted. No review yet! :D
In the beginning of the movie where they’re talking about Ferdinand Magellan reminds of me of chapter 16: The Brothers Drake in Uncharted 4 where they find Cassandra’s journal about Henry Avery and they run across Evelyn who lives in the mansion.
Well, I'm no critic and I didn't like it very much. Didn't hate i either, but it felt bland. Didn't give me any real sense of adventure or excitement, nor did I connect to any of the characters in any meaningful way. There was one point where I thought "would be cool to be able to pick pockets like that", but that was the extent of my connection to these characters. Never actually played the games, but I have a hard time understanding why this entire comment section is full of "I absolutely loved it" for something that seems mediocre even from a non fan perspective. Makes me question how many of these comments are even real people, just saying.
I liked this movie. It wasn't better than any of the games, but it was still a fun take on the Uncharted universe and I had a great time watching it. Tom himself had a great take on Nate and delivered what I felt were some great Nathan Drake moments worthy of the games' legacy. Also I know this is a weird thing to focus on, but I LOVE the Playstations Productions logo. It really gives me hope we'll see all these characters on the big screen, especially Ghost of Tsushima, which I heard is being worked on (PLEASE keep Daisuke as Jin!!).
I quite enjoyed it as well. I knew going into it it wasn’t gonna be like any of the games but I liked sharing my love of this universe with my family and they seemed to like it too.
I as well liked the movie, never had a PlayStation, but knew all about the games, when I heard this movie was coming out I had to see it, and it turned out great! (hopefully Sony will make a sequel to this movie, which I'm sure they will)
This movie had me smiling the whole time ! Like it was something different and funny and way out there , don’t want to spoil the movie but the ending literally blew my mind hahahahah 🙌
I watched it on the premiere day and it was so awesome and the post credit was like an Iconic funny duo scene. I love the cast and the work and effort the director producers and the whole crew put in it. This the movie that should get a sequel it isn't a one time thing. Loved it!!!
The bartending actually feels like it plays a part in the video games. The way I thought of it, before seeing this movie: After losing Sam in the Panamanian Jail (or so we thought), and cutting ties with Rafe Adler, Nate went undercover as a bartender in New York as a way to pass the time until Sully comes in with another "Hey kid, I got us a job." And then back to treasure hunting.
I got 45 minutes left of this movie, because I’m watching it with my family, what I have seen so far, I’m LOVING this film! I knew I would, I bought the digital version on Prime Video, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this film, everything is accurate from the games, like the gunfights, and of course the plane scene from Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. PLEASE make a sequel to this, if the games can succeed, the movies of Uncharted can succeed. I love how we had Sonic the Hedgehog as the a PROPER video game adaptation film, and now, EVERY studio wants to turn game franchises into films!
I haven't seen it yet either, but I loved the games, and I didn't think the movie looked very good at first, but when they showed the final trailer, I think that trailer made it look like it maybe would be a decent movie. After seeing this video, it does look like I would enjoy watching it. I was part of the crowd criticizing the decision to cast Tom Holland as Nathan Drake, but I think I've gotten used to it now, and something I've heard about the movie is how Holland and Mark Wahlberg have great chemistry with each other, and I think that I can totally see these 2 playing off of each other really well. I'm currently on the Sonic 2 hype train, but after I see that movie on Saturday April 9 I'll probably get the Blu-Ray for the Uncharted movie at some point.
Cause if you grew up playing the game then you honestly can’t stand watching this movie. Actors don’t the real in game characters and makes it hard to view them as the same
I thought Young Sam would only show up in the post-credits scene but I was very surprised and happy to see him in the orphanage with Nathan like in Uncharted 4 after the prologue. Rudy Pankow played a very good Sam Drake. He was perfectly casted in my opinion.
he and the actress of Chloe were perfectly casted. Tom does a good job with what he was given. The only performance I was not happy with was Mark Wahlberg.
Know next to nothing about the games so I had no idea what I was walking into when I went to see it. That being said, this movie was just so gosh darn FUN! Can't wait to buy it on blu-ray so I can watch again and again 😁
It's mostly because the characters were nothing like in the games, the story was a bit rushed and they killed off a well built antagonist and replaced him with a vague one. Overall that game-based movie didn't do much justice for the games.
The transition to first person into the past. I cannot, that was pure gold.
