I'm from Lewiston, Idaho born and raised. 3 miles above the mouth of the Grande Ronde and the Snake River between the boundaries of Idaho and Washington is the best small mouth fishing you'll find in America. Along with catfish, crappie, sturgeon, trout, Salmon, steelhead and multiple other species. A Kalin 3" or 5" grub either blue pearl or smoked red/salt/pepper flakes and a 1/16th or 1/32nd ounce jig head are all you need depending on the day. In April and early May red tube jigs work wonders during spawning. The catfish here go crazy for hotdog chunks wrapped in Redman chewing tobacco. The sturgeon love big chunks of sucker fish or Northern pike minnows. The crappie like small spinners like Blue Fox or small bladed plastics. The steelhead and salmon in the Snake love orange hot shots with a piece of shrimp and sprayed with WD40 or Blue Fox spoons with either the orange or pink center. The trout will bite on anything. You're welcome! Enjoy and benefit from my advice please don't take advantage if it. If you venture up the confluence and find yourself in the Clearwater River then everything is the same but no sturgeon and the steelhead also love white/purple/black marabou jigs with the same shrimp and WD49 If anybody has any questions how to catch fish in or around just ask. The information is free.
Wow, thank you for that great information
