This video was just like my "everyday". We pick the up the same items. Makes me feel like I do know what I am doing! I Enjoy the content!
Very cool, ya the margins are slim but with enough volume I can afford Tropicana Orange Juice once a week and a healthy supply of energy drinks 😎
Thanks for watching!
What they did to those New Balance shoes is almost criminal 😅 Most people wouldn’t even buy and wear them with the permanent marker on the side. Glad you could clean them up for yourself though. With the Goodwill stores in my area, they give you a 50% off coupon if you spend at least $50, and you can just keep rolling it. I found a Polo Ralph Lauren Christmas sweater for $2.50 and a handful of golf polos between $2.50-$5! Thanks for your knowledge on men’s clothing otherwise I would probably skip most of the men’s section!
I couldn’t agree more.
That coupon at your Goodwill is an insane deal!
I’m glad my videos helped you find some good items to sell!
Brooks Brothers Made in Hong Kong are high quality items. If buyers know that or not , I don’t know, but at the time Hong Kong was producing high quality garments.
Good to know, thanks 👍
Dad shoes - the way to go
👍
Goodwills In my area price brands like Ralph Lauren , Tommy Bahama at 17.99! It’s pretty whack!
Ya that’s wild
Finally a seller that’s transparent with u n show the price
No filters here!
Great video, i just found your channel and really like your format. About to binge on all your videos🙂
Yay Ginger!
Great video smooth showings of a lot of items
Thanks I appreciate it!
That 's a shame stores damage cloths and shoes with markers or staplers-make wholes in nice leather shoes. We have to let them know that they damage their merchandise.
Ya it’s a bunch of crap
Really like the mix of the brands. Love the cord shorts!
Thanks!
Yes the cord Levi’s are great, what should I list them at?!
@@TaylorExchange I’d go for $60
@@jaykrehbiel9896 🫡
Why would those idiots at the thrift store do that to the shoes? Call and complain and have a friend do the same if they still do it like a month later. Enough complaints and they might change how they do thibgs
It’s wild, I’m not the type to complain but that is an idea!
Keep up the Grind!
In the words of Rick Ross “Everyday I’m Hustlin”
good finds! never really considered some of these brands before, may try some donahues since I see a bunch in my area...
Thanks!
Depending on how well this video does the Donahues may become slower sellers 🤦♂️
WD-40 works well in getting permanent marker off. Have to do several applications but have found it to work. Also have had success with rubbing alcohol.
Was that on suede?!
I may give it a shot on the other pair.
@@TaylorExchange Have not tried on suede but on leather and also the soles of shoes. Why do people do that. We see that a lot with shoes at flea markets.
@@GeoffreyCutler Ya the suede is more difficult.
I chalk it up to pure insanity!
I just started reselling part time a little over a year ago and I’m finally getting pretty good at it and starting to make some decent money
But I worry how long it will be viable. Thrift stores prices have increased a ton since I’ve been doing it. Goodwills are even going through and pulling out good stuff and charging crazy prices for them
Very fair points, it is definitely getting more difficult.
You just need to diversify. In the UK we have the same problems with charity shops (thrift stores in the USA). I regularly see Levi’s for £25 😳 for example!
However, I was at a car boot sale this morning and there was a guy selling clothing and he literally had thousands of items and I purchased about 50 items for an average of 3.50 and most items had £20+ profit in them. But it was hard to go through all the stock properly as there is loads of other people going through the stuff at the same time. I know I left hundreds of items behind as I couldn’t go through it properly - Anyway, I pulled over the guy running the store and sweet talked him to letting me go to his unit every Tuesday to go through all his new stock before he goes to the car boot! I am buzzin about it as it will enable me to increase my daily listings amount.
My point is - I have only been reselling for 3 months and I was struggling with sourcing a good amount from charity shops alone and my profit margins were being squeezed and only getting worse. Try and get in contact with people who can give you the stock you need as it will decrease your costs because you are buying in bulk, you spend less time out thrifting and most importantly - you make more money 😊
Good luck and I am sure you will smash it if you stick with it and find a sourcing solution. 👍🏻
@@nathanmoore7120 That’s awesome!
Problem is all the money and big cities that have vendors like that are 2 hours away. Developing those relationships will be costly and difficult but not impossible.
I’ll be closing in on 230k in sales this year with a number of other income streams!
My main focus is those other income streams and having people sell their clothes to me directly with my mini buy sell trade store.
@@TaylorExchange you are smashing it bro! I love seeing young people with a bright brain, showing an skill set (like yourself).
I have worked in the corporate world for the last 20 years doing a variety of sales manager roles. However, I was made redundant 4 months ago and I am over the moon because it pushed me to do what I really want to do - work for myself!
I am building a photography business and I have decided to put in 20 (more like 30!) hours a week to reselling online. I am not going to call it a side hustle because I am putting in too much effort! I just turned 40 and my only regret is I didn’t start earlier!
Anyway - good luck with your journey and I look forward to seeing it grow 👍🏻
P.S. I would source the same as you if I had access to the stores you do. You pick up soo much from thrift stores. I am lucky to get 1 item per store with a £15 profit margin!
lol, probably time to start finding other sources
Magic eraser for marker in shoes has almost always worked for me
Nice, what about for the vans along the side?
@@TaylorExchange not too sure about that, I know with most non cloth surfaces a mix if a little goo gone on the marker combined with gentle but repetitive magic eraser gets sharpie off a lot of different surfaces.
Magic erasers are in essence just absurdly fine sand paper with a cleaning chemical mixed in
@@brandondeakins564 Ya the eraser falls apart on the rough surfaces, goo gone may be the ticket. I’ve also used grandmas sneaker cleaner. That Rnzy guy used to use it
Great video! I can't believe they marked those shoes on the side. Who does that?
Maniacs 😂🤣 That’s who!
Some thrift stores here in Tucson, do that, and on leather belts as well 😩
@@sunshinedream7772 It’s bizarre!
whats your inventory process when you get home from shopping? I write down what I buy and what I paid for it then once I phootograph and assign a sku I track it that way
I don’t log any of that, just hand it the Randi and she does the rest 😂
Regarding the new balance shoes eighther it was a careless new person that marked them or they did it on purpose knowing how much it's worth and didn't want a reseller buying it.
Whatever happened was very annoying!
I am wearing them right now, I sanded off the ink and dabbed some matching paint and roughed it up again and you can’t even tell!
@@mrrungood I agree they are OP for sure.
Use acetone on the marker but dab don’t rub.
I didn’t think about acetone, I’ll have to try it in the other pair!
Thanks
Try murphy's soap on the shoe with marker writing. I've had some success with that (fingers crossed)
Murphys a soap, I’ll look into that!
@@TaylorExchange yup sounds weird I know but it is one of the best stain removers I have ever used on shoes and clothing for resale
@@dizzzi I’ll look for some! Thanks
Mile IQ app to track mileage is awesome and easy
I’ll have to look into that app.
The pen and paper is pretty easy tbh.
@@TaylorExchange oh absolutely, I’m just lazy lol. It does cost some money but it’s just easier and you classify your trips, personal/business and it does all the calculations for you. You can also print out a statement every month.
@@lsgsrob2102 Ah I see, well I pay the CPA for all that just have to do a little more addition with the miles.
How much is the app like $5 a month?
Do you steam/iron any of your inventory?
I’ll steam a piece if it’s really valuable but typically no.
Do you have a list of brands that are BOLO?
No ma’am
Hey Sean question for you how many listing are you and Sam doing a day?
Hey Travis, Idk who Sam is but I list 30 a day on average now.
My employee Randi helps with shipping and photos.
She works 10-16 hours a week.
@@TaylorExchange I notice after i sent the message i typed Sam and her name is Randi I appologize to her for that. but thanks for the quick response. keep up the hard work.
@@travisoverstreet7218 No worries, and will do.
What par of TX are you in i'm thinking of moving to Dallas
Dallas is an excellent place to live!
Rohback is 70 or more ALL DAY LONG! Nice!
Heck ya!
I snagged another Rhoback 1/4 zip for $10 at a Plato’s closet the day after this sourcing trip!
@@TaylorExchange Perfect...now stopping talking about it! Keep the brand in the dark! Lol. Love you channel bro!
@@71capr 😑🤦♂️
Really it’s so nice of a brand many of them don’t make it to the thrift stores.
You are kinder than me. Lol. I would have lost it about those shoes!🤬. Great thrift day!
I’ve learned to Cage The Rage 😂
Na I was happy because I plan to wear there. Had they been a different size and I intended to sell they I probably would have left them behind at $25 each as hard that would have been.
Why don't you use an app to track your mileage? I use the quickbooks app but there are many others. I know you value your time, which is kind of the point of this particular video, so you're wasting time tracking it yourself.
Easier to forget to click into the app than write down the miles. Adding the miles by hand doesn’t take but a few seconds.
@@TaylorExchange yeah. IDK, the quickbooks app does it automatically so I don't click anything. Either way. Good content, bro
@@hustle-n-grow I suppose if the app identifies when your driving and starts logging that would be convenient but I don’t only drive for business.
It’s all gravy in the end as long as you submit your miles for taxes.
@@TaylorExchange I promise I'm only continuing this for information purposes. Nothing else. But yes, once you toggle it on it starts tracking automatically. All you hand have to do is swipe right or left in the app to classify as business or personal. It automatically connects to you accounting and make things faster and easier. But if you don't use quickbooks I guess that's all a moot point
Did you point the marker on shoes out to management?
I can’t believe how dumb can someone be by marking the shoe like that🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Absolutely, they don’t budge on price.
@@TaylorExchange not about the price
It’s about ruining them by masking them on the shoe
@@Miladyluvs Oh, no I didn’t talk to management just the cashier. She was couldn’t believe they were marked like that.
