Protestant here. Starting my orthodox journey over the last few months. The part where he talks about wanting to be crippled so that he wouldn’t have to do prostrations really resonates with me. I’ve worked at a church for 10 years and I’ve gone through seasons of great depression and every time I would go through these seasons, I would have thoughts of cutting hands and fingers off so that I would be useless to the ministry. The work of the gospel is hard work, but it is rewarding work.
The segment on temptation toward an excess in prostrations hit home, St Paisios pray for us all.
I was just dealing with some anxiety over not doing enough for my spiritual life ( I try to read a chapter of the Bible every day carefully, do my morning and evening prayers etc ) and wanting to ascend and grow spiritually like our beloved Geronda Paisios by wanting to do all night vigils etc
This came at a perfect time as a good reminder. Something I’ll have to speak to my spiritual father about
Thank you
St. Paisios please ask God to have mercy on us.
This made me think so much. I was working 7 days a week and still could not feel comfortable relaxing at home. I kept feeling bad and lazy. It was wearing me down and even if I had time to get to church on a Sunday I couldn't get there. I was too tired. But then I would feel guilty. Definitely a spiritual attack. I know that now.
I took a nap and I remembered a license plate in my dream. To make a long story, I needed to hear this message. ❤ Thank you for sharing!
If someone is treating you bad, narcissist sociopath abuse , don’t keep giving good, they will destroy you.🥵😭🙏🙏run even if it’s a spouse they are demon possessed
Please pray for me panic anxiety, devil been attacking me many years
God bless you 🌹
The Jesus prayer is the answer to the first hint of any attack on you.
God is in your Help
Some people are so toxic, we must stay away. One recent elder put it this way: forgive them all 70 times right away and stay away and pray for them.
Thank you Saint Paisios. I really needed this m.
I want to visit Mt Athos in my lifetime !
St Paisios is quickly becoming one of my guiding lights! I just ordered Vol 1 of his Spiritual Counsels. Such love & wisdom poured out of this holy man.

10:27 I've heard from so many people that when we are tired or don't feel like doing something spiritual that it is good to continue on with what we're doing for our spiritual edification. Like instead of falling asleep we should be waking ourselves up to do more reading or praying or prostrations, etc. so on one hand it is easy to believe we are not doing enough and on the other hand it is also easy to see how this could be a temptation coming from a bad place. I always feel like I'm never doing enough and I'm lazy and I end up burning myself out but if I don't do that I'm being lazy or so I'm told.
The message of this sermon sems to me to be, among other things, to do only what you can, pushing yourself to do more comes from the evil one. In your heart you know your own strength and limits, listen to your heart not the demons.
St. Paisios, pray for me! Thank you, Father, for posting this most helpful reading. I often also listen to your Pre-communion prayers in the car on the way to Divine Liturgy. This is another of St. Paisios’ works I think I need to add to my library. Again, I’m so grateful for your work.
Lord have mercy, this is difficult for me.
Thank you Father, Bless.
I am grateful to hear this Holy Saint. It blesses my walk in the Way. Thank you Father

Is there one like this with Arabic or Arabic subtitles. I want to send it to a friend but his English isn’t that good.
Go to auto translate and the first language is Arabic.
Can we control the minds and actions of others? What does God say when mother-in-law will be against daughter- in- law? Should anxiety arise?God's plan is Good, having people around you in your own household who doesn't follow this not so Good.
Any relationship between fr.Lillie and Bill Lillie of Salonika?
Not that I know of. Perhaps a long lost cousin! Lol!
I know a John and Ann Lillie in Thessaloniki of which John Lillie translates a lot of Greek material into English for some monasteries
I had a couple of million dollars and no job. Miserable. Nothing is much better.
