I actually was able to repair this myself, but it wasn't easy. I took it apart quit a few times, and finally made a new piece to replace a piece inside the lock that the manufacturer should have made just a little longer. Still not worth all the trouble it caused us. Thanks, Sterling
Schlage has a lifetime warranty on these. I have two of them on my house and they have replaced the back door twice and front door oncs. They were new in spring of 21. Both of mine are acting up now again. Seems to be winter for me.

i got the same one and have the issue but mostly only when i go to lock it. i think its a manufacturing defect with the spring placement. i have seen many videos where they go in and adjust its placement on the spring and works fine after that. but i agree for $140 it should be better then that.
I was able to fix it. And it was not the spring fix, I tried that and it was only a temporary fix. I actually replaced the little locking part with one that I made using a nail as my material. The lock plunger is just a wee bit too short, I made one a little longer and now it works. Thanks, Sterling

Thanks, Sterling
Thanks for sharing and I was looking into this lock. I will go with something different instead.

Unless you have the original receipt (who keeps those?) Schlage WILL NOT replace under their warranty.

@@sterlingdewey excellent!
Can you make a video tutorial on how to do it? You will be helping thousands of people including myself, thanks @@sterlingdewey
What brand do you suggest instead (and thank you for saving me from buying this model)

Horrible locks. I have the same problem on TWO of my Schlage locks.
