Oh man, many thanks that I found this video. I had my purse stolen last night and it included my passport and a key to my house. This has been a day of panic. And one that also included having to change my lock though I am really not a handy person. And now I'm shaking from having my information stolen. I am soooooo glad to have found your tutorial with the exact keyless bolt I purchased. Because I have known for a while that keyed bolts are breakable in 10 minutes. I had been meaning to change mine. This is the one bright ray in an otherwise awful day. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the information. Your instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I live in Chicago and I installed one at my garage side door but the cold seemed to affect the battery which I had to changed twice in the Winter. Even though our last two Winters here were mild.
this video was so much more helpful than the "instructions' that came from Schlage. Do yourself a favor and have video on a mobile device to follow along!
I just purchased this lock online and am going to assume it works for both left hand and right hand doors sense there was no mention of that in the ad. Thanks for the demo. I'm sure I'll watch again while installing the lock.
The tailpiece came installed, but it would not go into the thumbturn assembly straight up and down unless the thumbturn was 45 degrees off center. Then I could not get the two long screws in the attach the touch pad and thumbturn assembly---thoughts? I reinstalled the tailpiece and that made no difference. Thanks.
Help my daughter installed this and the inside portion is not straight - she said it's because of the hole in the door - and she doesn't think it can be moved without impacting the solenoid -I can't send a picture here but let me know if you have any ideas......
funny... I'm having the opposite effect on my lock. If I push the Schlage logo button... the door UNLOCKS... no code required... It's pretty disconcerting, I'm going to spend some time googling to see if that's normal or to see if I might have installed it incorrectly...
Hey Wayne, I found your video informative but you went way too fast and didn't zoom in to fully show the screws and bolts That made it hard to follow. I had to stop and go back and try to figure out what you had in your hands. Just wish it was a bit slower and more zoomed it so everyone could see each specific part. It was helpful though!
It seems this Schlage BE375 CAM 716 can be drilled from the bottom, allowing the deadbolt to be unlocked and locked without breaking the lock and with no visible (except from the bottom) exterior damage.
