And river ghosts were created to replicate the look of the very first predator design. So in a way the feral predator REALLY took the whole primitive look to a whole other level by wearing the original predator face.
Actually not. The very first predator design was more like a bug, with a hornet-shaped face. The original predator face is wore by an unlockable character in Predator Hunting Grounds (which also has it's own NECA figure) known as the "Alpha Predator". Even though, I think that bringing up the river ghosts to Prey as a reference worked really well
The other guy is right but I believe they do have a connection if I remember right the original killer was made canon to the universe and slaved the feral type predators for awhile but broke free I think because there a figure of a feral predator wearing the original killer head as a bio mask
You didn’t watch the og predator did you? They see in infared with or without a mask the hi tech mask just makes them dial in on more specific heat signatures
@@shellshock10 no bro watch the first movie that’s the reason arnoald beats the predator bc without its mask it’s not as accurate infared which is y the mud worked
I think it's more like a "present" from his tribe to start hunting with basic equipment before earning his very own bio-mask. On the ancient Rome, when kids reached adulthood (by the time I think it was like 12 or 14 years old), the father provided a helmet and a sword or a spear, while the mother (and sister if there was one) provided a cape and a mail coat to serve as basic armor until the now adult soldier earned his own armor in battle. The Feral Predator is now known to be an unblooded, as he does not wear any armor or plasma caster either. Those two are earned by the younger yautja when they successfully complete their first hunt and reach the rank of "young blood". So, in my opinion, the Feral Predator's bio mask was indeed made from a trophy, but not his. It would probably be a present from his tribe to help him in his first hunt
Honestly I don't think this is the case. He may have inherited the mask from an elder feral predator though. I also believe he is an adolescent/teen of the species. Here's why, This is his first hunt by what we can see. He is collecting skulls of small animals which shows that he is not all that familiar with trophy collecting. The second reason I believe this is the fact that he allowed the blood from the bear to rain down on him which completely exposed him to the world. In reality his cloak would no longer be an option due to being covered in blood. Yautjuas are stealth hunters and they are smart as hell. The last reason is in 2 parts #1 he has nothing on his dreads. After the first hunt the newly blooded yautjua has gold dread beads put on to his dreads, and the second part is that he isn't marked anywhere. This predator is inexperienced and immature which is why he just straight up loses. Despite all his tech and strength, the greatest weapon a predator has is his experience and his mind.
@@TM-ss7hn So youre saying theres a civilization lightyears ahead of us in tech and they are still primitive enough to use skull masks? That makes sense in your head?
No... Nobody can change my mind... It's the skull of another predator... The arrangement of the upper teeth., the natural cutout for the upper "mouthclaws + eyes"... Even the nostrils are on the right place
The reason they call this Predator Feral, is because this is a primitive form of the Yautja. They gene spliced their DNA with that of their enslavers, The River Ghosts, after The Yautja revolted against them. River Ghosts treated the Yautja, much like the Badbloods treat humans.
what do you mean abandoned?? this is 1st (i think) mask the predator wear.. since this is the 1st predator, before the Arnold Schwarzenegger predator movie
Really cool didn’t notice that at all, great call backs from this film, it’s awesome that it connects to a lot of the films in the franchise.

It's obviously not, also this movie destroys basically all the lore the other films and expanded media set up

It's make sense because base on it's actions and the way it hunts, it does resemble that of the kind of predator we saw in that other movie
That Predator was possibly the biggest show off in his clan
Actually he was an unblooded, a teenage predator on his very first hunt
I like the idea of Predator mask being skulls of their previous hunt..It makes the feral predator unique from the other predators mask..
You gotta love world building details.
It’s a fun reminder that they hunt all over the galaxy, not just on our little mudball

How about the predator from the second movie? He had different types of vision.

Preds have been known to use trophies as masks, I'm pretty sure at least
Prey was good asf (I was coked up watching with a girl) reminded of me of the original feeling of the original predator

How about all the other predators that have lost to humans?
Looks more like a bear skull.. would make sense too since we don't see the mask until after the fight
I don't remember River Ghosts at all from that movie. Guess I'll have to rewatch it.
Its only in like one pretty quick scene.
YOU THIS PREDATOR LOOKS LIKE THE TUSKS in “ JOHN CARTER” !!!!! I still loved this PREDATOR MOVIE !!
But under the skull is high tech mask.
Looks more to me like a Xenomorph skull
This makes sense, I support it.
Looks like a windigo
It should be wendigo
He doesn’t abandon the futuristic mask prey changes the first time predators came to earth
Loved this movie
How do you know if the mask limits the range of the predators hunting?
It was days later after I watched prey that I realized the mask was a river goast.
The mask is not a river ghost mask it's a predator skull mask.
@@michaelcovelle8923 it is clearly a river ghost look at the teeth lol
pretty sure it’s because it’s hundreds of years before the first predator movie. im assuming the mask technology is not the same 300 years ago

Lowkey reminds me of the chutari from avengers too
But the predator prey movie is based in the year 14 something
I mean predators and mostly the young ones are obsessed with winning and being the best so a lot of predators would be sore winners
What if the predators in pray were field testing there Tec to determine what they were going to use
Ah cool, dig it!!👍
Hang on, the predator looks that way because this is the first time or one of the first time it's been on earth
