Feral Pred is definitely a scout sent to check out a planet for things to hunt. He didn't have a plasma canon, couldn't change his vision when the ash came or the flower blood trick. I feel like the Pred who fought Arnold or D Glover definitely wouldn't of lost, but it's cool to know there are different types.
@Jurassic Hero You only earn the right to use the Plasma Cannon and the Armband Nuke. When you hunt Xenomorph...And even then. They prefer edge weapons to kill one. As they mark themselves with what edge weapon the used to kill one...Energy and Projectile weapons kills they don't... Why the Chick got the Spear from the elder Predator. She had been marked on her face. As killing a Xenomorph with a Spear..
@Jurassic Hero That is why Naru could take him off. She was more experimented and resourceful. She knew that taking it out in hand-to-hand combat was impossible so she has to become a better hunter than him.
Predators on earth are generally doing their first real hunts unless a xenomorph killing ground is setup. This movie is one of the first real earth hunts, AvP shows they only were around when humans worshipped them but never actively engaged in hunting at the time.
@Jurassic Hero Young blood was the one that fought Yakuza. Feral was the one that lived in desert of their home planet. He was more wild and less intelligent than jungle and super predators. Ultimate pred probably got his stats maxed out unfortunately including the arrogance dept. leading to his downfall but yes he surely is the strongest and most adv. pred introduced so far
The main reason the first predator was more slow and methodical in his movements was because the actor, Kevin Peter Hall, literally could not see well out of the mask almost at all. He would rehearse the movements without the mask/face plate on and then would redo them during filming with the face plate or the mask on. His movements were slowed down because of this.
One thing that always intrigued me about the predator is that they don’t look very intelligent, they look very primitive, as a species that depends more on strength and not brain. But on the other side they are highly technologically advanced, having space travel technology, laser weapons, etc. I wonder if the technology they have is their own technology or if it was acquired through other method, like taking it from other civilizations or if they have an intelligent species as slave, that develops this technology for the predators.
It is like westworld, humanity is super advanced technologically, even so, some of them want to go to a park to kill hosts (the park would be another planet for them)
The feral predator is not 6 foot 6.. where did you get that from? Even if it was never stated officially you can tell he is about 7 feet tall due to his fight with the grizzly which on hind legs grizzlies can reach 8 to 10 feet tall
@@Typicalcs that's not true and their weight fluctuates throughout the year anyway. Jungle Hunter and Crucified Predator are from the Jungle Hunter Clan. City Hunter and all from that movie are from the Lost tribe. The predator trio from AVP are the Isolated clan. They showcase Ancient predators from an Ancient Clan as well. The Super predators are bad bloods and you guessed it... Super Predator Clan. Wolf is... I don't know. A badass
The feral predator actor (as others pointed out, is 6' 9") and said that he looked out through holes in the neck and the head sat on top of his so assuming a predators head from bottom mandible to top of dreads, that's what, 12"? So probably putting the feral at about 7 1/2' give or take.
Yautja hybrids or from mix species are considered outcasts. Some Clans might allow mix Yautja or non-Yautja in but that is very rare. Berserkers are an Outcast Clan. The feral predator might be an outcast trying to prove himself to a clan.
According to the creature designer, the Feral Predator is a true subspecies of Yautja. It looks so differently because they evolved on a different hemisphere than the "traditional" Predators, which was more of a desert environment.
The Feral yautja was on an initiation hunt to become a Blooded. It actually makes sense when you see him fight recklessly in the trapper fight, just going in and bulldoze all of them instead of using the foggy environment to pick them off like other experienced hunters.

Fun fact the Predalien was actually a young queen meaning her form in AVP Requiem was actually a juvenile form because she was able to use her mandibles to impregnate hosts. If the Predalien lived long enough to look like an adult she would have looked like the Antarctic or Acheron queen except she would’ve been green, had dreadlocks and would’ve had mandibles.
I really wish Netflix would get permission for an R-rated Yautja series that goes deep into their culture and lore as well as what their daily life is like!
The Jungle Predator is the well known Yautja from the first film and in Mortal Kombat XL. The Feral Predator is definitely a new species of the Yautja but has a wider mouth and brighter skin and much shorter stature. The Berserker Predator or the Super Predator is the evil version of the first Yautja from the first film. The Predalien is just a hybrid mutant alien of both Yautja and Xenomorph. The Ultimate Assassin Predator is the more upgraded genetically modified alien killer that can overpower its own species. The Mutated Predator is like a monster alien like the Death Angels from A Quiet Place. The Fugitive Predator is the half-human Yautja or the Rogue that escaped and yet fought against the Assassin Predator. The Proto Predator looks like it’s quadrupedal, like the Predator’s Dogs, except for its scaly skin is tan.
Figure just like humans their different Races & Ethcity on the planet .. it probably the same for them on Yautja prime planet or where ever there from.. makes sense to make slightly different looking Yautjas ... the original still the best because none CGI

Well the feral variant of the predator seems to be the wildcard among the other hunters by that he identitfies as being the scavenger tybe as you can see he does have the killing spree to hunt and eliminate wild animals and anyone that crosses paths between anyone Seems to be like his the isolated tybe due from seeing anyone near him becomes the Target and barely is taking precautions from his surroundings as he gets cornered and jump by surprised he is the one to be easily ambushed and isnt aware of his mistakes when being in combat he can hold up yes but isnt that good as the /Predator\ ( Hunter Variant ) but still takes a decent amount of damage but still retains its survival. The Predator ( Upgrade Variant) Is considered the most dangerous one with the ability to have hound dogs in his command which can be dangerous going to head to toe with this things.Hiding doesn't work with the His hounds because there scent can calculate your whereabouts. The upgrade which should be called The bounty Hunter Variant because how ruthless he can be and how dangerous he really is.Being that big could rip u apart with no effort.but regardless his defeat was through sacrifice and being killed of by intelligence and being strategic as any other Predators that can eliminated giving the opportunity to blindspot him. It can be challenging which depends the hunting grounds you are lured into. But if the female Protagonist was against The Predator ( The Hunter Variant ) she wouldn't stand at chance since The orginal Predator was executed by perfection as the Predator has all the time of the world to Mimick other ppl you know and lure out to be executed quickly. As he is the embodiment of stealth and can be the one with the forest having the difficulty for anyone to make it out alive. Arnold did survive because he habitat the environment and use the wilderness against him. However her tactics From Prey Was hiding and yes it did made the same hidden spots as how Arnold portray the tactics but mostly her strategy was given from using his technology against him and hiding between his blindspots but surely that isn't the case since the Feral tybe was new to the environment He wasn't near as good as the Hunter tybe his characteristics and behavior was just going head on but not relying of being like the Hunter as she won Because as the title suggested It was her prey It wasn't her being hunted It was him being Hunted By her.
well it different predator from classic predator we don't know about it culture. the super predators don't have honor code everything is fair in the hunt.
Just like humans every predator is different. They all have there own personality. Just bc they have a honor system doesn't mean every single predator follows its. Just like every single human doesn't follow the law. Or rules in sports and other competitions.
I wouldn’t classify the feral predator and berserker as a subspecies. I would say like humans ( we have black race , we have white race , we have Mongoloid race etc, aryan / Dravidian race etc ) but we are Homo sapiens . So all of them are yautja except the hybrids .
Everything in this franchise with the exception of the first Predator and “Predators” connects to the AVP films. So in lore idk what to accept or forget because I really do have problems accepting certain things lore wise from some of the films. “The Predator” can and should be forgotten entirely but that connects to AVP and so does “Predator 2” because of the skull. “Prey” is tied to AVP as well through “Predator 2” because of the flintlock so sadly because I love “Predator 2” and “Prey” I kinda have to accept “The Predator” as canon if I wanna accept “Predator 2” and “Prey”. I definitely have a love hate relationship with this franchise.
@@joezar33 well apparently “Prey” is considered by the director the first time the predator has been to earth and since that short story took place in 1715 I don’t think it’s canon.
When watching "Prey" , which I really enjoyed, .. I kept thinking about Lurtz, the leader of the Uruk-Hai from Fellowship of the Ring movie .... I know some people were complaining about Prey, but I thought the design of the Predator was beautiful, elegant, while in keeping with the brutal look of the original, .... actually a good change ... Seldom do we get something different that actually works and doesn't seem too 'try hard'. @@JACKAL98 The Xenomorphs take DNA from the host they inhabit, so technically its still a hybrid making it part of Yautja species. Human DNA makes normal Xenos as thats the base dna they are based on.
People need to get this straight: the predalien isn't a hybrid. It's just an alien born after gestating in a predator. That's like saying the standard alien is a human/xenomorph hybrid.
Fun Fact the Upgrade Predator was not the only Upgrade Predator. The Fugitive Predator wanted Humanity to have the Predator Killer to fend off an invasion of Upgrade Predators💀.
I feel like Feral is probably one of the more weaker ones imo, He tends to Underestimate almost everything, And when he got hurt like heII while fighting Naru's brother he just became invisible and hid like a wuss
I think he was an unblooded. No plasma cannon, no mark on his forehead, and a primitive looking biomask. And I may just be misremembering, but it also looks like his dreads aren't marked, which means that's he's probably not a youngblood and is an unblooded

People keep confusing the feral predator and calling them a type of Yautja. It’s not a Yautja at all. It’s a completely different race of predator. Same species just a different race. The feral predators probably have clans, leaders, and elders just like the Yautjas do. They probably have cultural differences tho.. And there’s probably other predator species we haven’t heard about yet.
Maybe he should battle an Engineer from the Alien franchise, I think there was a comic about Predators vs Engineers or something like that. Fire and Stone maybe...
@@davidandrew6855 yeah i think it was fire and stone sumthing bout a predator who wanted to hunt one down and make a trophy and ended staying on that planet
My take on the predator is they've been in a century long war with the Alien species and each predator is sent back in time to gain knowledge and fighting skills from various time frames to fight against the Alien race who've taken over their planet.
Am I the only one who thinks the different species and stuff ruined the franchise? It was fine when it was just human versus hunter predator. They were cool because we didn't know anything about them. The more lore they added, the less special they became to me. Like the xenomorph, the mystery surrounding them is what made them scary.
I hope they make a animated series that explains there homeworld The movies are awesome but there’s enough materials for them to do this forever We need something that changes the course and future of the universe
saying hunter subspecies is the same as saying the waiter subspecies of human, the banker subspecies etc. There is no such thing....just like all people on Earth have differences and everyone looks different the same could be said about the predators. That does not mean there are different subspecies. To be honest that is pretty much impossible from the evolutionary point of view anyway...
Like many others have pointed out how did you come up with that the feral predator is only 6'6 when the actor himself is 6'9 lol? Plus the suit would probably make him at least 7 foot.
The feral predator most likely is a sub species because the old predator at the end of predator 2 gave the protagonist a pistol from 1715 and he was an original predator which the prey movie takes place 4 years afterwards so they probably knew each other at some point
I would like to see how these Predators would deal with the creatures from evolve the game like Goliath, Kraken, behemoth, Rafe and the spider looking one I do believe they would consider them worthy hunts
@@strenuousspider9525 7'2" and his prosthetics for the head were smaller than the feral predator, so in all reality you are looking at the difference of maybe an inch.
I would have thought jungle hunter and city were different races.I also wouldn't have included the predalien since is just a normal xenomorph that came from a predator host. The one in Avp-r was intended to be a queen aswell.
Assassin and Fugitive aren’t canon. Also Xenomorphs born from Yautja aren’t really that related to Yautja at all, and Mutant Yautja are just that. Mutants. Not a separate subspecies.
I see the assassin and fugitive predators as canon cause the way I see it is that they're part of a badblood hybrid clan, Shane Black said that it may not be all predators that do with but it's definitely this specific group of angry predators that aren't above cheating. So I'm ok with it if it's like that.
@@BSM-vw6cf Assassin is formed from the pro-autism lore of the movie. Fugitive is part human, which also is a awful plotpoint that ruined the movie. If that movie is canon, the series still is dead.
@@Tarnished-bn5gq yeah the autism thing is dumb, I have autism and I never saw it as the next step in human evolution, but fugitive predator hybridzing itself with human DNA makes sense since we have far greater eye sight and it is a badblood...why it had a change of heart and wanted to help humanity I have no idea. All I'm saying is lore wise in ok with it since I view the predators in that movie as badbloods but everything else is a mess.
@@Tarnished-bn5gq How is the predator being part human so bad when every predator that's came to earth has been defeated by a human? Also the movie being cannon isn't that bad, the assassin predator was cool asf outside of the whole autism thing.
Xenomorphs use DNA from the host. that still makes it a hybrid of the two species, making it belong to both in a sense. same with newborn being a hybrid of human and Xenomorph because of the DNA mix, as well as Ripley 8. Predalien is not a basic Xeno but i will say it does belong to xenos more then preds. but it still counts as a predator hybrid not species.
You do realize that the makers of Prey didn't set out to make a new Predator species, right? They just didn't give a shit about continuity and took it upon themselves to recon the appearance of the Predator's race. Maybe they didn't explicitly set out to do that, but that's effectively what they did. If there are any sequels, or movies made by the same people, do you honestly think that they're going to go back and use Stan Winston's original design? I guarantee you that they won't. Until someone new takes over the franchise, THIS is what all predators are going to look like. And even if someone else takes over, people will expect them to use this design simply because there will be people who saw this movie, but not any of the previous movies, so they'll expect it to look like this. I hope you like the look of the 'feral' Predator, because that's going to be the defacto look of all Predators going forward.
You're being too Presumptuous. The Director of Prey had already given Context to the Feral Predator's Design within Context of the Pre-existing Lore. Jumping into Conclusions like this is too Hasty!
I'm pretty sure the feral and hunter are the same species just multiple generations apart! just as all humans are shaped in various different ways, it's most likely the same deal with the predators! I think the feral, predator 1 n 2, and the ones in predators are all the same just different generationally and armored differently. as well as previously mentioned diffrences in the same ilk as human races, regional differences ect. the slightly diffrent skin patterns can be attributed to which region of their planet they originate from. I mean African Americans look vastly diffrent from Europeans, as well as native americans, asians ect. I'd assume predators have similar biological differences in appearance, size ect.
I would agree with this. And it does make sense different races of Yautja exist throughout the universe. What doesn’t make sense in my opinion is why the Feral Predator’s outer mouth is always open. It does serve a function and looks nothing less then a costume model error.
Not gonna lie, the names of the Predators like "Hunter" and "Fugitive" are like classes. If Predators and Aliens both had a COD type game?? it would've been cool if both Aliens and Predators had classes like that, and maybe the Upgrade one can be the Heavy class.
There is only one Yautja, IMO. All the rest are just the result of bad writers wanting to do something "bigger, badder and scarier" which is typical in Hollywood. Same mindset that brought us the Spinosaurus being "badder" than the T-Rex. "We can't do the T-Rex again, we need something bigger and meaner to sell!" These are just two examples but Hollywood does this all of the time. We always need something bigger and badder than what came before, no matter what it does to the Universe of that story. Just like in the Alien Universe we started getting all of these hybrids for no better reason than to show us something "new". I just don't buy this type of storytelling very often because in order to respect the Universe of the original stories it would require very intelligent writing. It can be done, but requires talent and Hollywood seems to be short these days on talented writing.
Highly disagree, I enjoy expanding on the predator race. It makes them alot more interesting. Hopefully we can get a predator movie on the predator planet that shows even more off.
I hate how the PREY movie ruined how a certain predator got the Raphael aldini 1715 pistol and the story behind it. That story could’ve been a great sequel to PREY

Also lacked proper combat skills and also had less advanced weapons. Cloak was all feral one mostly dependent on. He would had very tough fight with grizzly if he tries to fight it face to face or even would had got killed by the Grizzly bear.

It’s a wrong that the strongest Predator was in the worst Predator movie.
Outstanding video thanks!😎👍🏻
One thing that always intrigued me about the predator is that they don’t look very intelligent, they look very primitive, as a species that depends more on strength and not brain. But on the other side they are highly technologically advanced, having space travel technology, laser weapons, etc. I wonder if the technology they have is their own technology or if it was acquired through other method, like taking it from other civilizations or if they have an intelligent species as slave, that develops this technology for the predators.
May be like Sparta vs Athens . Barbarics won against technologically superior people and adopted their tech. Same race, diff outlook.
in one of the comics it shows that the predators used to be slaves to a bug like species until they overthrew them and stole their technology
@@onyxonikuma4878 That makes more sense and is more cool in my opinion.
Actually they were enslaved by another species but rebelled and took their tech for their own they were basically a primative tribal species till then

Oh so THAT'S why the Feral Predator had a weirdly long neck XD

The Proto Predator looks like it’s quadrupedal, like the Predator’s Dogs, except for its scaly skin is tan.

cool video , well executed
Well the feral variant of the predator seems to be the wildcard among the other hunters by that he identitfies as being the scavenger tybe as you can see he does have the killing spree to hunt and eliminate wild animals and anyone that crosses paths between anyone
Seems to be like his the isolated tybe due from seeing anyone near him becomes the Target and barely is taking precautions from his surroundings as he gets cornered and jump by surprised he is the one to be easily ambushed and isnt aware of his mistakes when being in combat he can hold up yes but isnt that good as the /Predator\
( Hunter Variant ) but still takes a decent amount of damage but still retains its survival. The Predator ( Upgrade Variant)
Is considered the most dangerous one with the ability to have hound dogs in his command which can be dangerous going to head to toe with this things.Hiding doesn't work with the His hounds because there scent can calculate your whereabouts.
The upgrade which should be called
The bounty Hunter Variant because how ruthless he can be and how dangerous he really is.Being that big could rip u apart with no effort.but regardless his defeat was through sacrifice and being killed of by intelligence and being strategic as any other Predators that can eliminated giving the opportunity to blindspot him. It can be challenging which depends the hunting grounds you are lured into.
But if the female Protagonist was against The Predator
( The Hunter Variant ) she wouldn't stand at chance since
The orginal Predator was executed by perfection as the Predator has all the time of the world to Mimick other ppl you know and lure out to be executed quickly. As he is the embodiment of stealth and can be the one with the forest having the difficulty for anyone to make it out alive. Arnold did survive because he habitat the environment and use the wilderness against him.
However her tactics From Prey
Was hiding and yes it did made the same hidden spots as how Arnold portray the tactics but mostly her strategy was given from using his technology against him and hiding between his blindspots but surely that isn't the case since the Feral tybe was new to the environment
He wasn't near as good as the Hunter tybe his characteristics and behavior was just going head on but not relying of being like the Hunter as she won
Because as the title suggested
It was her prey
It wasn't her being hunted
It was him being Hunted
By her.

I thought part of their honor code during a fight is they had to be visible while in combat but in prey he is invisible in a lot of the combat scenes

Nah it’s just better because it seems like the predator are an actual race.
I agree with you. The original yautja is all we need.
I like it
Highly disagree, I enjoy expanding on the predator race. It makes them alot more interesting. Hopefully we can get a predator movie on the predator planet that shows even more off.
Nah the new one is cooler
To correct you. The feral predator was 7ft tall
I hate how the PREY movie ruined how a certain predator got the Raphael aldini 1715 pistol and the story behind it. That story could’ve been a great sequel to PREY
I haven't seen it yet but that's such a shame that gun is supposed to be from a comic and have to do with a pirate right?
That made the movie bad?? Lol
I hate when background lore for a film franchise is put into comic books that almost no one will read and then the few people that did read them complain when we get a film explanation for said random lore bit because it isn't accurate to the comic book that very few people know about.
Unless we get a prey 2, where they come back and this time, the humans lose. Took the trophy right back, plus a small native woman's skull lmao
@@jamiebrewer2278 Well we see three Predator ships descending to Naru's village at the end of the credits in the paintings.
The practical effects of the original made it look real as opposed to the cgi faces of the newer movies.
Imma go ahead and say this, the upgrade predator is by far the strongest out of all the predators listed
Shaq and the Feral predator bouta have the sickest fight ever
The feral predator is some around 7'2
