  • After Breast Cancer Surgery it is common that you can experience restricted range of movement in your shoulder. There are a number of really important reasons to regain your shoulder range of motion that may not seem obvious at the time. Sadly, I still treat women who had Breast Cancer up to 15 years ago and are still struggling with shoulder pain and restricted movement from their original treatment.
In this video I explain my Top 6 Reasons to focus on regaining your shoulder range of motion after Breast Cancer Surgery including Radiation Treatment, Lymphoedema Prevention, Pain relief, Cording, Strength and Functional Activities.
If you haven't been referred to a Physiotherapist after your Breast Cancer Treatment for a Shoulder Assessment then ask your Medical Team. If you enjoy this video remember to SUBSCRIBE, LIKE and leave a COMMENT!

I’m still working to regain ROM following BMX on 4/12/21 due to being sutured too tight and refusal of referral early on. I have now been to PT 7 weeks, massage, therapeutic yoga, and acupuncture.

Hi Jen. It has been a year and almost nine months since my lumpectomy followed by radiation. I still have some stiffness, which is probably my fault because I have been lazy and have not continued my exercises. I also have numbness behind my shoulder and down the back of my left arm down to my elbow. Some of that numbness has left but there is still a ribbon of numbness about a half inch wide. Massaging my arm for my lymphedema seems to have helped to stimulate and regenerate the nerves effected in that area. I also get a funny tingly sensation when I massage that area. It is probably the nerves waking up. I will be watching your other range of motion videos and I promise to start my exercises again. Thanks again for this wonderful information and all you do.

Dear Jen, Hello from Canada. I so love your videos. Two years ago I had a lumpectomy, lymphedema started early for me. My surgeon NEVER listened when I commented about my hand and arm feeling off, oh well that's in the past. I have most of my range of motion but fluid collects in my shoulder quite often and the infamous side boob. Any advice how to clear the fluid from my shoulder?

Hi Mary, I am releasing a video in the next week or so which showcases a compression garment that will be really good for reducing fluid in the lateral chest wall. Keep an eye out for it! The compression garment is the Haddenham Comfiwave Breast Band. Jen
