    Ok, Hilton, you have converted me from a DW lover to a Staccato enthusiast. First and foremost, I have to add to my book of knowledge that 2011 parts are dimensionally different than 1911 parts and normally not interchangeable.

    Thanks for the great presentation. Any issues with 45 acp Hollow Points? (I have constantly had issues with Sig and Springfield 1911s not feeding hollow points)... probably because of the spatial relation of a fed magazine to the feeding ramp. Given the modern 2011 design, I am hoping hollow points not an issue. 'glad to hear it accepts standard 1911 magazines (10-round Wilson Combat is an option). Maybe one day STI would make their own 10-round single stack 1911 magazines :). And perhaps one day R comes with fixed night site option (my dream)! Be safe.

    Thanks for the video, Hilton. Do you know who makes STIs 1911 mags? (Specifically the 10rd 9mm) I've been told they are CM mags. Want to be able to use the same mags in addition to the three it comes with.

  • @TheBandit59
    @TheBandit59 2 года назад

    So it still has the polymer grip
    Module, so you are sacrificing the standard 1911 thin grip?great video as usual. I had a credit at V-1 tactical, so I used it for a Staccatto P DPO, I think
    a C DUO would have been more practical for me , but they had the P and the competion type one?

    • @108Performance
      @108Performance  2 года назад

      The R is no longer in production, so it's a bit moot. It wasn't selling. The grip was a unique one that was single stack and a touch thinner than a 1911...which in the end might have been *too* thin.

    I have both the 9mm and 45acp versions and love them, great shooters. I know they discontinued the "R" Do you know when Staccato will bring them back and why they stopped producing them? Would've love to have seen a commander version.

    • @108Performance
      @108Performance  2 года назад +1

      They stopped producing them very quickly as no one was buying them. Due to an extremely low sales response (and therefore no actual ROI from the company - consider the molds for the new grip module), I wouldn't expect to see them come back at all.

    • @108Performance
      @108Performance  3 года назад

      The R just wasn’t selling well enough, and production can’t keep up with making the big sellers (P and C2), so it was simple business math. No .45’s are offered - same business math. When 99% of buyers want more 9mm’s than you can make...make 9mm’s.

      @108Performance  4 года назад

      Can you clarify what you are seeing? Note that the finish can appear blotchy if it's dry or smeared with oil. Try wiping it down with an oily rag and looking at it. The finish is inspected at the factory and is a matte black.

    Does barrel bushing do anything for accuracy? I've noticed they got rid of it on the Staccato P.

    • @108Performance
      @108Performance  3 года назад

      The fit of the end of the barrel to the slide provides a component of accuracy. That can be done with the cone barrel like on the Staccato, or with a fitted bushing.

    I hate this gun so far... real pain in the ass for $2,000... brand new f’ing gun... only shot 36 rounds through it... and had to use a f’ing lymar rubber hammer to make the piece in the front move in order to turn it... it was stuck immovable to fingers because of sitting in the factory for so long after staccato fires the 3 bullets through it. Even the gun store I had it shipped to said while it was in good shape, it was gunned up with carbon. Most frustrating new gun experience I’ve had by far. I don’t recommend. Pain in the ass to disassemble from factory. They should clean their guns after firing before shipping them out for this price. My CZ shadow 2 was cheaper and super clean.

    • @108Performance
      @108Performance  4 года назад

      Rivers Water Can’t speak to its cleanliness, but it’s tight like any match grade 1911. This is your first 1911, so it takes a bit to learn how it all works. The barrel bushing is tight because it’s match fit not because it’s damaged or dirty or defective.
