*1. Please ask Rex about performing on unreleased Damageplan songs as Rita Haney has publicly mentioned a desire for both PHILIP & REX to perform on those tracks.*
      2. Home video #4 status update
      3. Pantera has NO LIVE concert DVD. Will they ever release a full length headlining concert DVD?
      4. NO ONE ever asks Rex about REBEL MEETS REBEL.
      5. Would Rex ever want to work with DOWN again someday? Even if its just for one song or two when he has free time away from his solo band.
      6. When is the 2nd solo album coming & will he tour this time
Thank you. I look forward to your interview.

An island unto themselves, no one can touch them! They took the torch after Metallica decided to take themselves out of doing visceral metal and started doing more easy going hard rock based stuff in the 90's. Everything from Cowboys onwards are classics but they're super crazy in a league of their own, visceral take no prisoners groove metal from Vulgar Display right up to Reinventing The Steel is unprecedented. That's an unbelievable body of work for any band regardless of genre, album to album. I feel they transcended the genre; it doesn't matter what they play it's all extraordinary. Only Sepultura comes close-ish with some of there albums making that sort of earth shattering yet compelling noise.

I wanted to make a separate comment to thank Rex for taking the time to talk with all of us.
We all miss the Abbott brothers; you miss them more. We still miss them too, though.
Hello from Portland Oregon, I'd say come visit but they just shut the cannabis club down because things shut down now. You can still visit but now I got no place to hold a proper non-alcohol focused party. :-(
Glad you're still with us, I don't have many friends left either. A lot of people who made it this far are the same, so we know how you feel and you didn't need to talk about it. You didn't, but you did. So I wanted you to know at least one person out there really gets it. It's lonely when your friends leave to a place where you can't get them back from, literally. It's a little more...final.
Wolfgang VH said something that seemed to resonate and I can't get the phrasing properly but it was basically that it's never going to stop hurting eventually you just trust that you'll be in the same place again someday. Or something like that, but it make me feel better about my friends that are gone for a second.
Be well. Be safe. Be as happy as you can.

Rex is so humble... Talkin' about dreading going on after Slayer. I had the pleasure of seeing Pantera several times. I've seen them with everybody from White Zombie to Soulfly to Morbid Angel... and I can tell you CONCRETELY.... Pantera was the best heavy metal band OF ALL TIME... not only on the stage, but in the studio. The Sheer POWER and AGGRESSION of Pantera, was unlike anything else ever. Dime's guitars, The Thunder of Vinnies drums combined with Rex's bass, and undoubtedly the best heavy metal voice of all time being the cherry on top, not to mention the energy and vitality they brought to the stage is just unrivaled by any band that's ever lived or ever will. I just saw them again on the Legacy tour with Zakk and Charlie, and while it's not the same, it's STILL a very powerful experience. I hear a lot of the old school fans from back in the day bitching and complaining about "It's not Pantera" and this and that. FUCK that! This is the only Pantera these kids today are ever gonna get the chance to see.... And it's STILL better than most bands on the road. I'm always gonna have a DEEP love and respect in my heart for Pantera, they are now and forever my favorite heavy metal band of all time.

The thing is, when they released dimevision 2, there's so much footage in there, especially these short 1-2second clips that most of the people cannot catch if you watch the dimevision only once. You have to watch it a couple of times and pause the video every few seconds or rewind it, to catch all of it.
The thing is, Bobby and Rita recorded most of the stuff, or if they didn't, they were there, so they know whats going, they know the background story. Unfortunately, most of us don't, so sometimes we have a hardtime catching up what's really happening, if you know what I'm saying.
I think it would be a great idea to do all this editing with a good videographer, not only by themselves.

the original might be a bit muddy on the low end but overall it just sits way better than the new mix. The remix is just too "clean", and that kind of makes the guitar sound harsh at times. Also drums sound weaker, i suppose too much compression. The original just needed a bit better low end cleanup, thats all. It sounds punchy asf otherwise and i love it. Not so much the remix.

Pantera has been my favourite band since I was 18 but to say they're the greatest metal band ever is a far stretch. I'll hands down give that to Metallica, the things they have accomplished and done in un measurable by any other band. Even with their sound changing they are still by far the most successful and biggest metal band ever.
It is unbelievable to me that pantera is over too, I find it surreal and there will never be another pantera. But there will also never be another metallica. Music is changing, it's not how it use to be and that in itself is probably the most heart breaking thing.
