For an amateur chess player there is nothing more inspiring than watching the big guys playing at the board. It makes you want to set up your pieces and join the next tournament. So thanks for the upload!
ensayofr He didn't get crushed how do you figure? he was wining at one point with two passed pawns but he missed the mating net. He coud have gone kf8 instead of king h8. It's at least a draw. But props to Alex he seems to have Carlsen's number in blitz
Can someone help me understand why Carlsen didn't claim for a draw after position was repeated 3 times - white king in H1 & black queen in E5? The position with white king in H2 & black queen in A1(check) was also repeated 3 times? I don't understand why it wasn't a draw. Help please. Thank you.
In the final position white threatens Nh6# if black now plays for example h5 (to clear h7 for the king), white plays Nxe7+ Rxe7 Qxe7 preventing black from queening as well as taking a decisive material advantage.
Still new to chess, so correct me if I am wrong. Can't you move your h7 pawn to h6 and when Nxh6, then King to h7? I get that Carlsen is going to lose, but does that variation also work? Thanks in advance.
at 11:09, Rg7 seems like the obvious choice for Carlsen. It covers the g-file, a2-g7 diagonal and h7 from mating threats. Looks like it defends everything. Something wrong with this move?
its all in the beauty of the move king to h2 at 10:24..prevents queening with check so the moro threat of checkmate at the end that carlsen resigned over. They are brilliant calculating machines in mere seconds not in the luxury we have of replay videos.
wow that was a sweet find near the end, thought carlsen had this one, watching these vids always pump me up for some games at the end there, pushing the pawn does avoid the mate, but after say h5 white goes Nxe7+, Rxe7 is forced (otherwise Kh7 Qg6+ Kh8 Qh6#), then Qxe7 and black can no longer queen. it'd be a queen vs bishop ending, the per move increment after that makes the rest easy for white
+Adolpho Henrique If Carlsen took the rook in f7, Morozevich will move the knight in order to take the pawn in g6. It's a check, but look closer: it isn't a ordinary check, the Carlsen's Queen would be in the knight's radius, then Carlsen would lose the Queen. Did you understand? (sorry for my bad english)
I have always rated Morozovich. I love his style of play, he is imaginative, attacking and brave. He also looks a little like Robert Downey Junior. Go Moro!

"Bears"? You mean beats, yeah I agree because there aren't many people who can defeat Carlsen in chess, that's why I love Morozevich a lot, but I love Magnus Carlsen too.
At the very end, why didn't carlsen move his pawn to the end line and get a queen? I'm not good at this game so I'm trying to understand how he lost? I thought he could sacrifice those rooks to protect the king?
Fucking impressive!! Moro, refuses the draw by perpetual check in winning position but almost out of time. My style favorite player won this time. GG guys!!
Only if your opponent have enough material to mate you. For example, if your time runs out, but your opponent has only a bare king, then the game is drawn.

Morozevich always with suit. Very elegant. I love him.
What a fantastic player! Morozevich even has time to clear the table at 11:13

So thanks for the upload!
That's probably one of the greatest blitz games I ever saw. Full stop. Thank you for uploading this tremendous stuff!

carlsen is so sweet ...not like kasparov.....even he lost the match...he had the respect for the opponent
prefer kasparov way
have you seen the reaction of kasparov in the mid game with 13 year carlsen.... carlsen gave kasparov nightmares....
ensayofr

Mini direction Kids I
I don't think Carlsen wanna see any More of zevich. especially for the world championship.
Alexander Morozevich is the the kyrptonite of Magnus Carlsen!
Great videos KhessK,thak you for posting them !
Nh6 then checkmate. Great match by Morozevich
exacto¡¡
+mo moe not so fast because of h5
Then Nxe7+, he will lost anyway
yea
really nice handshake at the end, shows fair play and shows that Magnus thought that Morozevich played very well! really nice game
haha the kid at 2:00

Rg7 does not remove the mate - which is where the queen is on f6 and the knight is on h6.
In the final position white threatens Nh6# if black now plays for example h5 (to clear h7 for the king), white plays Nxe7+ Rxe7 Qxe7 preventing black from queening as well as taking a decisive material advantage.
how do you see that, and against the best player in the world with just 14 seconds left!!! great stuff alexander!
Why carlsen not take the knight at 09:56 with the pawn? the white queen is go away from h file, its really free
Very good commentators...) Whr is English subtitles ?! ))
Still new to chess, so correct me if I am wrong. Can't you move your h7 pawn to h6 and when Nxh6, then King to h7? I get that Carlsen is going to lose, but does that variation also work? Thanks in advance.
never mind! if the rooked moved it would be mate and knight comming to h3 is also mate!
nice upload btw
I like the smile by carlson at the end. I think that is a smile out of respect and a little bit of of awe at the brilliance ot morosovitch
i think he was smiling because he was thinking "I thought I had him!"

So intense... Its like watching 2 guys fight each other to their death using their brains instead of swords.

Could moving the pawn on the h file have saved carlsen?
wow that was a sweet find near the end, thought carlsen had this one, watching these vids always pump me up for some games

Esses jogos tem acontecido recentemente?

before the game even starts Carlsen is already drawing an imaginary line on the board: "here you can go with your pieces and not further"
it's the magic of chess. Morozevich bravo, super.
nice moro! but why is time increases some times?
if I am not mistaken, players get 2 secs bonus for each move they make
Rxf7!! and the final Nf5 both were very good. :) Good luck moro :)
Anybody know what's the h2h between Morozevich vs Carlsen? I remember Carlsen lost to him at least twice
go to chessgames.com and type in the search field "Carlsen vs Morozevich"
Nc4!... Where are you going now?
What is Nh6 then?
Impressive!! I loved this game! Moro no fear style!
a nice glance at 11:34 as well telling carlsen its all over mate and you know it ...great great end game by moro when of the best I've seen.
Wow!! Great Match!
Around 9:47 why Carlsen dont get the tower with your tower?
+Adolpho Henrique If Carlsen took the rook in f7, Morozevich will move the knight in order to take the pawn in g6. It's a check, but look closer: it isn't a ordinary check, the Carlsen's Queen would be in the knight's radius, then Carlsen would lose the Queen.
Did you understand? (sorry for my bad english)
at 7:34 why didn't carlsen take his knight with his pawn?
+redblood9922 queen under attack. Black loses Bishop. White has a strong pawn on C6.
Great match !!!!
At final position, there's no way to stop Nh6 checkmate (except for ...Rg7, which would have ran into Qxg7 - checkmate as well.
DrZZZee best for black is h5 Nxe7+ Rxe7 Qxe7 - decesive advantage for white
I have always rated Morozovich. I love his style of play, he is imaginative, attacking and brave. He also looks a little like Robert Downey Junior. Go Moro!
morozevich ganhou, sou fá do jogo desse cara, um abraço aqui do Brasil, Fiquem com a Paz do nosso Senhor Cristo meus irmãos
fantastic game by Morozevich oww I'm impressed
fenomenal partida !
Moro, Svidler, Anand and any player rated above 2750 usually plays blitz very well
Why not chekmate Moro 0.00.14 seconds, QA2 ?
Hello from Denmark, exciting game!!!
What happens if one of the players wait for the other one not to have enough time to play ?
(I'm trying to understand the rulers :P)

If a player has no more time left on his/her clock then he/she loses on time.
There is something I don't understand. Why not to let the other player lose on time ?
I mean, a player can play quickly to let the other one lose ?
Victor Colin risk of errors and getting checkmated when playing too fast.
+Akrawtuuiuttrrccv. hm Joltevskoy
Black's only move is h6 or h5 and after Nxe7+, Black must take the knight to prevent mate in two and then white is clearly winning
11:32 pawn H6
who won?
Romantic players are biggest than calculating machines. Look Chucky, Shirov, Tal, Nezhmetdinov. Creativity, not just calculating statistics. (Just my opinion)
Hell of a game, love anyone that bears Carlson only because there aren't many that can.
For those that wonder it's a mate I'm one no matter what
White can sac h pawn, still a loss, though.
"Bears"? You mean beats, yeah I agree because there aren't many people who can defeat Carlsen in chess, that's why I love Morozevich a lot, but I love Magnus Carlsen too.
Moskovich could have checkmate at 8:35 with queen and rook
Great observation
Albert Bazinyan if checks stopped from opponent then he may mate
it was not his turn...
Who win? 🙄
Amazing game!
Morozevich could have checkmated Carlsen @8:41 by moving the rook to h7 or queen to h7.
Oldboy
At the very end, why didn't carlsen move his pawn to the end line and get a queen?
I'm not good at this game so I'm trying to understand how he lost?
I thought he could sacrifice those rooks to protect the king?
why and how did Alexander Morozevich win. Why did carlsen resign?
ilovegodmorethanever if black want to prevent Nh6# only move is h5 Nxe7+ Rxe7 Qxe7 and we have Queen vs Bishop
Fucking impressive!! Moro, refuses the draw by perpetual check in winning position but almost out of time. My style favorite player won this time. GG guys!!
Piece of art
if your time runs out do you lose?
yes
No, you win LOL
Only if your opponent have enough material to mate you. For example, if your time runs out, but your opponent has only a bare king, then the game is drawn.
IF YOU WANT TO DEFEAT CARLSEN YOU SHOULD PLAY LIKE KING Morozevich.
BRAVO!!!!
Lovely...!

Amazing player Moro!
i usually takes a day to finish a game losing it lol
Carlsen loses every game against Morozevich and i have no idea why.. 2011, 2012 and now 2013 it continues! :3
Who is that kid in the green shirt at 0:40? He is everywhere!
11:03 h6 would have been killer. wins the knight, unless I'm missing something.
very exciting game with a lucky ending for moro.
Who is the girl at 6:19?? She looks so cute...
+Lalo Bautista because if morozevich move the horse e7 for G6 he lost the queen...
+lukas diaz what?
+Lalo Bautista She is Karyakin's wife! )
asombroso''''''
great game!...
i came for the moment when the commentator says.. "oppa... "oppa".. :V
pawn to h6 should have played by Carlsen to give some space for his King to survive from white Queen + Knights attack.
+Mohammad Azmir h6 doesn't help when he resigned at the end. If h6, then Nxe7+ followed by
Qg6+ and Qxh6 mate
LUH ANYARE CARLSEN SA 9:56, PANIC KA ATA SIR
Why didn't he just move his pawn up?
GM Alexander Morozevich
Great, that is a good idea. Sometimes I feel that way too. Thank you for stopping by to check out my videos
