On the day of this game, Gukesh's FIDE rating was the highest in India, and Magnus holds the highest FIDE rating (still to this day!!) of all players.

    I know this match came a while ago in 2023, but Magnus is still the real world champion. If you put loads of matches between Magnus and Gukesh, Magnus would win the vast majority of those matches. If Magnus was in the world championship tournament, he would have been able to defeat both Gukesh and Ding. Prime Magnus is definitely a better chess player than Gukesh. Gukesh will never be a better chess player than Magnus Carlsen.

    I don't think Gukesh is really that good at chess. He's memorized volumes of chess data, but he seems to play haphazardly when he needs to be creative.

      Es cierto, ese final normalmente es un empate sencillo. Sin embargo, a veces surgen posiciones complejas (como en la última partida de Gukesh contra Ding) que requieren encontrar un único movimiento que no pierde. En este caso (minuto 15:15), Gukesh habría tenido que jugar c4 y prever toda la secuencia después de Tg3+ y Tf3. No es un movimiento muy natural.

      No, one of them is a real world champion and the other one is a fake world champion. Magnus is a real world champion because he has beaten everybody and he is the best in the world. Gukesh isn't the best in the world (regardless of him beating Ding) because Gukesh can't beat Magnus so Gukesh isn't really a world champion, sorry.
