      And the smile from the girl next to them! Hikaru probably wasn´t so happy though.

      He might have 'won' a little having an extra pawn, and hence the smile (or smirk?) vs Hikaru's stone-faced

    • @ryanjavierortega8513
      @ryanjavierortega8513 9 лет назад +1

      Yeah, I noticed the same thing - it's an Academic Russian, and I want to say that one may interchange 'Academic' and 'Literary' and end with a result where the same meaning is taken from both statements, but perhaps 'comparable' is a better connective? I don't know, it reminds me of Spanish and Borges.

    Since Fed captains are now allowed to use time travel to fix the tiniest inconveniences (Endgame) and get promoted for it, I find it hard to believe no one would go back and save Romulus.

  • @SpiritusSpei
    @SpiritusSpei 11 лет назад +6

    Carlssen would have lost.
    1.e6+ Ke8! After Ke8 Magnus wouldn't have been able to get a queen from his e-pawn, while Nakamura's f-pawn is unstoppable!
    (2.Ke5 f3 3.Ke4 f2 ....)
    Magnus' a-pawn would be way too slow for pressure. (2.h4 f3 3.h5 f2 4.h6 f1-Q 5.h7 Qa1., thereby lost)

    Yes, but the players are getting much better too with all the tools and software available to learn and practice. Players now are better than in the past (just like any sports). So the inflation, which I agree exists, is probably due to the fact of upcoming players being better in relation to the past.

  • @Lucasbarbieri90

    Magnus' face in the end might mean that, earlier in the game, at some point, when the camera wasn't filming, he offered a draw that was refused by Hikaru, and the face in the end might mean: "I told you it was a draw".

    Great camera angle!

  • @АндрейПастернак-й2к

    Играл я в шахматных турнирах с этими мастерами и гроссами. Во время партии видят они со своими тренерами и судьями из их шахматных федераций, что не могут у меня ни выиграть, ни свести вничью, а сдаваться не хотят и считают себя сильными шахматистами. Так они вместе там такие цирки устраивают во время шахматных партий что аж жуть!

  • @bryanchappell6240
    @bryanchappell6240 11 лет назад

    Nakamura seemed surprised when Carlsen freed his rook from the skewer on D1...he made an odd gesture. I missed why. It didn't seem like that was an all that decisive point in the game they were equal as far as I could tell.

    At around 3:00, why not Kxa2, forcing the Queen to move and allowing the chance to possibly capture another pawn, or, perhaps, setting up with the idea of NxR?

    • @abdirahmandama3266
      @abdirahmandama3266 8 лет назад

      magicteen1 Then carlsen moves his king back, white will lose his e pawn but his king will blockade the black pawn. he will then run up his H pawn, Nakamura will have no choice to but capture his H pawn and magnus will capture the pawn he was blockading with his king.
      Either way draw

    "Thrash badly" might be an exaggeration, Anand is still an extremely solid player that has a lot of experience in World Championships, not to mention he's also the most versatile, having played all sorts of formats, Standard, Blitz, Knockout... But I think Carlsen may come out ahead, due to his astounding creativity and innate ability to win drawn or even losing positions.
