I grew up in Mobile, & every time I go back, it looks more & more depressing. My grandparents & I would go shopping in downtown Prichard back in the 80s, & it wasn’t always like this. That street you’re on at the 5:50 mark was all shops & storefronts. The crime there is insane now, & whenever I go back, I steer well clear of Prichard. Sad to see what it’s become. The streets you were driving down brought back so many good memories. Despite the area being what it is now, I had an AMAZING childhood growing up there in the 80s. The whole time I was hoping you’d drive past my childhood home. You got VERY close! Thanks for posting this.
You are on point Brother, I’m born and raised in Prichard and moved away from the city at 19 years old. The city losing lots of tax money due to people moving from the city and deaths.
Thank you. I have grandparents buried in Whistler and Whistler Annex there in Prichard. I still have family in Tillmans Corner. My dad and all the rest of his kids moved to Phoenix in the late 1990s.
Sad to say, I HAD family in Prichard for many many years when I was growing up. My aunt had 10 kids in this town. They are long gone. My aunt died in California about the year 2000. I never visited Prichard as a kid they would all (12) visit my grandmother during the summer. I had a time keeping the house clean behind everyone. I was always glad for them to go. I loved them dearly tho.
You is on point been living here since 1965 it's been going down hill every year 2 great high school football schools vigor and blount 5 state championships piss poor leadership
I had to live there at a homeless shelter called Praise Palace back in the 80s after a very bad divorce and medical malpractice. I lived there for a year while I recovered from a breakdown.
My husband was a city police officer in Prichard in the 1990’s. The stories he has of the crime there even at that time are almost unbelievable. He was fired due to folks hating the fact he went to the FBI and got the mayor arrested for embezzling from the fire fighters’ and police officers’ pensions. He also ratted out other officers extorting people that they were arresting. He tells me stories of the gear he was issued being the wrong size, cars without air conditioning, having to purchase a lot of his own equipment, cars constantly being in disrepair… the list goes on. He made $8.66 an hour to put his life on the line. I’m truly grateful he made it out of there alive.
It only 25 percent of what it uses to when I was growing up in the 80's 90's use be building and business in prichard mall nice neighborhood. Corruption people stealing money is one of the many reasons I left in 97
Once a business closes down no one ever moves in to the building it's surrounded by prosperous cities like Saraland mobile Semmes Theodore Satsuma and more prichard is the worst worst

Try driving through a nice town in Alabama instead of focusing all of your videos on the poorer towns trying to paint the typical Northerner opinion of Alabama
Mom was born and raised in Prichard of course that was 1935 started Vigor in the third grade graduated in 1952 she grew up on Allenby two blocks from the school her parents sold that house in 1970 and by the time AJ Cooper came around it was going downhill fast if only that train wouldn't have stopped they eventually stole all of the pensioners money so after a five to 10-year battle most of the pensioners died and what was left got 3 to 4 months worth I hear if you work there now you still have to pay into a pension plan but good luck collecting and don't get me started about the water board

So many memories of visiting family in Prichard. Sad to see the community in need of much TLC.
