It must be weird for the queen to know that DJs, radio stations, and even TV stations are prepared for her to die
Wee Liz has always been rather dutiful. I'm sure she just takes it in stride
Many people prepare to die. They make wills and give thought to their funerals such as whether to be cremated, what hymns to be sung etc. Her Majesty is in the same situation, she and her staff and the British Government will make similar preparations, but on a more elaborate scale. The media also prepare for the deaths of prominent people such as having background information available, obituaries drafted etc.
We are also in an unusual situation. A large portion of UK people had not been born when Queen Elizabeth was crowned Queen. A more usual situation over the years would be for three or four or so coronations to take place during a person's life.
Must be weird to be the queen, full stop.

This is true for every famous person, from rock stars to retired presidents. Every news organization has hundreds of bios on file, with photos and video. Add few words and presto, instant obituary.

CONFIRMED! My relative in England watched as her program on TV interrupted with the exact sequence you had described. The country has literally shut down. Our news here played sound bites of pilots making the announcement on their flights (regardless of flag) and the President of the United States ordered all flags at half staff. This video should be marked as factual as it is very accurate.

Monetary systems bearing the late Queens head throughout the commonwealth nations would most likely already have the new monarchs head printed, and the old notes and coins would be gradualy withdrawn and recycled, just as they are when there is a change in the photo of the late Queens head or when the coins/notes need replacing through natural wear and tear. And as for the cost !!, what about all the extra income from "tourist trap" sales, of memorabilia, tourists flocking to London to watch the funeral procession, etc, travel ticket income, car park charges, flags, flowers, food and drink , people buying up the last postage stamps bearing the Queens head?, the "knock on" sales income will be phenominal. Imagine all the radios panicking for the queen’s death when the blue light comes on but they say it’s Prince Phillip.
It’s weird that people are relieved that someone else died instead of the person they though.
I suspect that there is one blue light in Buckingham Palace which has a webcam trained on it. The camera is plugged into a computer which has a program that monitors the light and, when it comes on, sends a message to a serverless app in the cloud. The serverless app then sends messages to other serverless apps to initiate various actions, e.g. alerting radio stations, commonwealth governments, sending TXT messages to people in charge of raising and lowering flags, etc.

When someone on Discord broke the news to me I immediately tried to get my hands on a BBC broadcast (I do not live in the UK) and I was right in time when they showed her last portrait switching over to the rather hurt news anchor who announced her death just as protocol demanded him to, and as described in the video. Witnessing that was surreal, they then showed footage of a flag being lowered while in the background a rainbow emegered, that was intense.
That's exactly what happened to me! we are all American and I don't have cable but I found live coverage on the Internet anyway. There are probably lots of people worldwide that tuned in just because of how surreal it is
