- The Canadians have landed, and gosh are they nice... but it's time to put manners aside and see which country reigns supreme in the RT Arena. First up in this three match series, Mark AKA Toxic Tennis Troll representing the US of A takes on newcomer Alex representing the Great White North.

Alex has a lovely service motion. Doesn’t look like he is trying but getting good power. Stays side on very well
“I’m not even thinking about this game anymore, my mind is at the start of the second set” is a Hall of Fame Anti-Sports Psychology moment. Mark!! You have to know better than that.
Great competitive first set, awesome to see it go to a tiebreaker! Love Mark's commentary, so entertaining!
No need for a commentator when Alex has this good of a running commentary himself!! Might even have more one liners than Mark 😝
Alex is the guy if you get first round of the tournament you know it's gonna be a loooooong weekend and there's no way you're gonna have legs for later even if you make it there.

Alex has a deceptively quick first serve, and a great return game! Players like him are the most frustrating to match up with - pushers who can neutralize whatever shot you hit at them. Great set!
He's also a great athlete in great shape...sounds like a nightmare for most rec players.
“Pusher”, good way to describe him. 5.0? Not so much.
Honestly I play badminton, but this tennis channel is so underrated because of how great the quality of the video is. Very clear graphics and sound. What I love mostly is the players themselves getting into mechanics and strategies throughout the game which we don't see very often from tennis or badminton specific videos. Players commenting and analyzing is great to watch

Top athletes in one sport, pick up others very quick. Always amazing to see.
Still hard for me to believe. This is very disheartening to me, since I have been working my behind off for way more years, but still a 3.5

Great set to watch. And particularly like the "head" game that Alex is playing on Mark. Clearly knows that getting inside Mark's head is the way to beat him. "That's a bigger swing than Mark's ego" :)

Great set! Mark is definitely not playing his best, but Alex is making him work for everything!
Maybe it's just me, but it looks like Alex is guiding his forehand just a bit which is causing some errors. It seems to me his swing speed is a bit on the slow side so he's struggling just some to avoid being late on this fast surface. He's certainly making it work, however.
Alex is playing great considering he's only been playing for about 3 years! I'm not sure about his 5.0 rating. He's not dominating with his shots, but he does get a lot of balls back and deep which makes up for not having the most powerful shots. I wonder how long he's been a 5.0?
If Mark doesn't cut down on his errors and get his wind back he's likely to fall in another close set.
Did Mark say there is a doubles match coming up! That would be entertaining!

Wow, incredible tennis from a guy who so recently started tennis, and almost old school tennis he learned somehow too, but pretty sure Thickums has a couple tricks up his sleeve still

@@alexsweeta one advice on your serve is to pull your left arm down more to create that seesaw action. Kinda like free style swimming where you grab water down to torso/hip area.

@@bournejason66 Karue talks about it - athletes in any sport transitioning will bring intensity and quickness to tennis. Strokes coordination, hand eye, decision making now that’s tough all at same time with ball coming at you 😤

Mark looked like a 3.5 here. Definitely the worst tennis I’ve ever seen him play.
Mark is too overweight/out of shape to play really competitively anymore and plays way too careful to really be in full control of a match and to be confident.
mark didnt know he was gonna play this match until about 20 minutes before we took to court. show a little respect for the guy putting himself out there for you to enjoy some tennis content for free.
