Best way to start my week! Thank you!
Going thru my dads old hunting cabinet I found an old USGS map of the Kearsarge area with his pencil marks. He marked out the trail he backpacked and the places he camped at sometime in the 70s. I plan on doing some backpacking starting next year. I intend to recreate his trip. Kearsarge Pass>Charlotte Lake>Gardner Pass>Gardner Creek>60 Lakes Basin> Rae Lakes>Glen Pass> then back out over Kearsarge Pass.
I did this hike with my 14yo son last July .we flew in from Australia and was supposed to hike in Yosemite but the washburn fire had just started .I was very proud of my son who hadn't done any hiking before and only arrived in USA 2 days before . He struggled the last mile and we had to stop every 100m for him to rest but we made it. Went back down and camped at flower lake . I have a 3ft long print on my wall of flower lake in the morning that I took
Thats an awesome trip for you. A lucky son
That is lovely indeed when the experience is shared with family.
Ahhh…thank you for this taste of summer in the middle of winter. Simply sublime. I’m giddy with excitement for how awesome the streams will be this year after the monster storms we’ve had.
I can’t wait to hike this trail 🏔️🥾🏕️ … Hurry Summer !!
Scott you're the best guy! Thank you for this video. I'm gonna do this trail with my friend on Labor Day weekend...Can't wait
Scott also I looked up the map from the Trail Head to the Pass is only 4.1 miles...so basically 8.2 roundtrip. I was wondering how you got to the 11 mile number?
Hope you enjoy it! One of my favorite eastern Sierra trails.
Thanks for a mid-winter respite in the summertime Sierra!
I hiked that pass many years ago. Beautiful!
Done this many Times before Cell Phones & Home Computer were available. NIce !
Another stunning video!!! I can't wait to get out & hike! Thank you for all of your beautiful amazing videos!!!

I am definitely gonna do this trail this summer.Or fall.... Looks fantastic... You did a wonderful job filming this..
Thanks! Definitely recommend an early start in the summer months.
Something is meant to be found, and I am glad that I came across your video. As someone who was making adventure videos on RUclips and also lost the drive, spirit, soul, and finding this brings all the greatest feelings that I once knew. Thank you so much for bringing and sharing this with us, because it showed me what I have been missing in my life. Thank you and wish you good luck on your journeys. :)
Thank you!

Gorgeous! If I lived close by, I'd hike it all the time too- never gets old as it changes every time. 😀
Agreed!
Dying to try that pass someday - High on my bucket list!
Don’t pass it up!
I've hiked up Kearsarge several times and the trail is great, but sometimes parking is a hassle even in the middle of the week! Cool video!
Great hike ! Thanks for sharing- I subscribed your channel
Looks like a beautiful place to hike. Thanks for the wonderful video.
I love the eastern sierras... I Go there a lot especially in the fall... I take my 3 border collies. And just hike over the place over there.... There's nothing like the eastern sierra's... Thank you.
For your videos... Maybe I'll see you over there next year.. I did cottonwood lakes last october and lone pine lake.... Plus the little lakes valley trail... Thanks again have a good day.
Nothing like the Eastern Sierra indeed! So many good trails to explore…over and over again :)
@Sheety33 Are you going back next year? I can't wait to go back.. I take my vacation and go back there every year. Especially beautiful in the fall.
I saw these lakes on Gaia and planned on going up there this summer.
So many lakes to explore!
Hermosa lugar para septiembre pienso viajar a ese lugar
Thank you for sharing this. Very well done. I'm taking my border collies back there next year and hike this trail.. Is this trail head in bishop? Thanks again for sharing this
Very nice video, Scott. Drone shots were a nice way to begin the video. Have you hiked down to the lakes. I was thinking of doing to reverse route from Bubbs Creek to Kearsarge and hike up to the top of the pass for either a sunrise or sunset view. What's it like hiking from the western side up to the top?
Thank you! Yes, been up and over to the lakes (July of 2023 I believe). Great experience and will be headed back this summer. Just love the area so much. Hiking up the western slip of Kearsarge is short and sweet, and snow free in the summer.
I really enjoy you videos. Keep on making them. I was wondering what size pack you are using? Thanks
Thank you so much! Using a 35L currently from REI.
Nice video amazing place do you thing middle of september is bad time to do this trail? thank you
Middle of September is the best!
We make the hike this past week we just make it rigth after heart Lake the altitud make us feel bad a bit and we decided to go back but was amazing, we are going to make it again in the summer 100% to kearsage lakes thank you for your help
How did the membrane solutions filter hold up?
Very well! Good product.
Mid-summer hike to all of these spectacular wild trout lakes - and no fishing? Perhaps you did..., 😊 but simply chose not to reveal it here in this video. Anyway, awesome content as always Scotty!
I need to go back and fish the Kearsarge Lakes!
What settings do you shoot in? Is this with a gopro
yes the view is amazing indeed !
i even camped at bullfrog lake. i know..... but i did anyway !
Love it!
I agree. The grade on this trail made for an easier incline, although I stopped at Flower Lake to camp and didn't finish the last part. The pass is still on my bucket list. 🪣
