Arguably? South Africa didn’t lose a test series, home or away, between 1897 and 1956. Since 1995 NZ has been the most dominant team in all of elite sport.
With the exception of brief interregnums by England once, Aus twice, and lately Ireland, the either SA or NZ were #1 for 120yrs.

What the Boks have achieved is more special than any other achievement in rugby. And if you ask any All Black player whether he would rather have a high percentage win rate or a world cup winners medal.... you will get your answer. No argument. Case closed

The problem for Springboks is the number of big games they played week to week to get to this point. They looked nakkerd last week against England, and sadly, I think here lies the upper hand for NZ. The workload has been just tomuch for Bokke to get to this point, where the Kiwis has been sliding their way, that said in style, but not demanding on their physical welbeing. Saying that South Africans loves a never die challenge and if there is one nation or team to overcome the odds, it's the Safa's . Toughest people in the world that face daily challenges and are still getting up from the knees. That mental power can't be underestimated. Ods are against the Springboks just dew to amount of big games played all year long specialy pass 7 weeks, but mental power , believe and heart might just push them over to lift that cup again for every South African across the world. I can understand peoples complaints with the draw. But it doesn't really matter in the end. We could've had four blowouts in the quarters and two great semi finals. Instead we got two great quarters 1 great semi and 3 blowouts. The draw doesn't change the results. Ireland and France would've lost in the semis if we just swap the games around, so what difference does it make. The two teams who beat Ireland and France still made the final.

@@CC-om8ze They didn't though did they? They've played 6 games at this World Cup to make the final and two of them were Tonga and Romania. For your statement to be true one of them would have to be top 5. England also weren't in the top 5 when the World Cup started and only are now because other teams beat Scotland, so that barely counts. They've played 3 top 5 teams. It's been a weird draw for sure, but the two best teams are in the final. That would've happened whether SA beat France in the QF or the SF. What difference does it make if SA vs France and NZ Vs Ireland were semis instead or quarters. No difference at all. Both teams would've still had to win the games.

No team except the Springboks could’ve survived this incredible journey and there will at the very least be a documentary made of this one day. Mark my words. No team on this planet has an answer for our physicality in the scrums. That’s why wit puppets are trying to diffuse Rugby scrums now by changing the rules yet again.

@@CC-om8ze Whether any other team couldve done it doesn't make your statement about the top 5 true. If you had played the top 5 you would've played the All Blacks already and yourselves. You're trying to tell me with a straight face that Tonga are a top 5 team? They've always been physical, doesn't mean they're good.
Your scrum might be the strongest, what's that got to do with my point on the draw. Now you're just trying to cope. That's like the All Blacks saying no team can cope with their skillset and speed they play with. The only way SA can handle that is if the ref allows them to waste time and have water breaks. But what does it matter at the moment, the final hasn't been played yet. Both teams have a shot at winning.
Let's not forget SA got away Deon Fourie being tackled and going again without releasing the ball the phase before Snyman scored against England. Should've been an England penalty not an SA try.

SA fans were all calling the England match to be a walkover before the game, so what eventuated with a tougher game than expected had nothing to do with the draw itself. What about FRA losing to Scotland, & nearly losing again in the second test; plus, SA losing at Mt Smart Stadium & against IRE in this tournament. According to the critics, a team would never have to lose to be considered successful. Conversely, when the All Backs consistently win there is huge criticism that rugby has become too one sided. Players? Do they get more winnings if they make it further through the tournies? Maybe that's a good case for putting all Pro players on salaries, rather than bonus incentives. Money should be off the table, it distorts and corrupts. Give them career security and make the joy of the game the incentive. Even from a spectacle point of view, it makes much more sense to have the best teams who happen to also play the most entertaining rugby compete against each other at the later stages with maximum jeopardy and the most riding on it. As a South African, I have massive respect for Laurie. He tells it like it is. I also love (and share) the distain he has for World Rugby.
The reporting could have been a bit better regarding Mbonambi - he is accused of saying something but there is a plausible language explanation and no actual hard evidence (despite the British press trying their best to make something out of it). It's a nothing burger.
As for the final - i disagree that the Boks will necessarily kick more. The ABs tend to kick more than the Boks and the team that tends to kick more tends to win in this day and age.
Both teams have really good backs who can exploit mistakes. The real difference between the teams will be in the pack and with the subs. If the ABs can hold their own up front (they don't even need to dominate) and if their aubs can match the Bok subs' energy, then they ABs are in with a good shout.

The sound clip came out regarding Bongi. It was picked up on the ref mic he it was clearly heard. He said, as SA was playing the ball, "speel wyd kant" meaning play wide side. Which sounds similar to White C%#t. 'Kant' is a Afrikaans word which means side. This word is used a lot in games as 90% of SA players speak Afrikaans. It is a nothing burger. This is a stunning report on the 2 best antagonists in the Rugby world ! Might bring some memories back to us all who have been around for the last 4 decades +++ ! Read this newspaper report!! -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This year’s Rugby World Cup Final will take place on Saturday between the rampant All Blacks and their traditional rivals, the Springboks.
The All Blacks stormed into yet another final with a try-fest as their star winger, and tournament-leading try scorer, ran in a hat trick of tries against their hapless opposition.
The Springboks, however, narrowly scraped through their rain-drenched semi-final, with a lone try ultimately deciding the result. Unconvincing at times throughout the tournament, the Springboks face a mighty challenge in trying to stop their much-favoured opponents this weekend.”
PS reading this you might think that they were talking about the RWC this year. This is about the 1995 Rugby World Cup…
Bizarre how history can repeat itself so accurately.
