    Very helpful guide; Ive seen a lot of guides out there just theory crafting builds that either are non functional or simply would be hell to play with for half of the game. In contrast, this guide just gives you a great idea on what spells and abilities you can work towards to, really well done. I didnt know about second spirit giving the metal curse, or about hampering hex!! I built my camelia differently so its nice to see this, gonna try it out on my second playthrough!!!
    Have you given thought to making a guide like this for armor? Would love to see your input given on it.

  • @JohnSmith-bs9ym
    @JohnSmith-bs9ym 3 года назад +7

    It can go higher:
    Freebooter's bane.
    Vanguard Slayer has an innate ability that gives the whole team half of his studied target bonuses.
    The Skald could also pick reckless stance instead and then pick inspired ferocity. For whatever reason, your teammates will receive the untyped song bonuses twice! Another reason is lethal stance gives competent bonuses, which conflicts with the Bard song. So now if your Skald picks the reckless stance instead, you could also have a Bard in your party to inspire courage (which is a competent bonus).
    Speaking of, pick the Dirge Bard type for your Bard because early on you'd want to have this Bard sing Dirge of Doom to automatically make enemies shaken (no saves). Then have everybody in the party take the shattered defenses feat so you are always attacking against their flatfooted AC. Later on your wizard/some cleric type will get Frightful Aspect, which does the same thing as Dirge of Doom, so do that instead and switch your bard back on inspire courage to boost AB's.
    I think I'm forgetting something 🤔 but you could definitely fit some of that into your current party to boost the AB even higher, since Wendy at least isn't really contributing 😄

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  3 года назад +2

      Yep, there are ways of getting it even higher with some class specific abilities.
      Wenduag actually is one of the biggest damage dealers in the party even as mere Fighter. Actually, besides my main Trickster in that example, she is the one that does most damage.

    I know I'm a bit late to the video but I want still mention "For the King" yes, it is a competence Bonus but it is for attack and damage as well. I almost always have two cavaliers in my playtrough with at least +12 Charisma. Since most fights last only 3 rounds anyway the short duration isn't a problem at all. Even a 9lvl disciple of the pike becomes a really good ranged fighter. (It is still most usefull on opening charges)
    Another thing is arcane (eldrich) accuracy, esspecially if they fix the mighty advisor. (dimension strike is still more usefull in most cases but it needs 9 level instead of 3)

      True Seeing Communal is the simplest way.
      However, it only helps with Concealment sources that are from Illusion (most common ones are).
      For enemies with other sources of Concealment, this is when the Echolocation buff comes into play, and also the Blind Fight feat.
      Echolocation can be cast on other characters through either Alchemist with Infusion or Brown Fur Transmuter, otherwise it is a Personal only buff that Alchemists, Bards, Skalds, Sorcerers & Wizards get, some Mythic Paths too like Azata & Aeon.

      Destructive was chosen mostly for the extra morale damage, as the highest we can get usually is +4 from Heroic Invocation, while Destruction Domain aura gives up to +10, so +6 over that.
      It also works for the enemies though, but it doesn't really matter because we can kill bosses way faster than they can damage us.

    @PaulSchofieldMusic 2 года назад

    I've followed your mounted cavalier build, plus all the companion builds yet I've failed to be able to complete Chorussina and (at level 10) Devarra tower encounters; characters were buffed entirely, power attacks off, and glitterdust/sosiel's true seeing were used. What is the problem? (MC, Seelah, Wenduag, Nenio, Greybor, Sosiel) If I'm following the tacs and builds I was expecting to be able to do this on Core.

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  2 года назад

      I actually find Chorussina (if you let her fully power up instead of summoning the demon) to be one of the toughest battles in the game.
      I find the key to defeating her is to send a pet wall for tanking (besides being fully buffed to the MAX), and using Evil Eye to sharply reduce her AC or Saves.
      If you lower her saves, then also cast Pernicious Poison and go for Stinking Cloud (while your party is fully protected by Delay Poison Communal).
      Dispelling her can work, but it's a bit tricky since at that point you can only dispell ONE effect per Dispel cast.
      Devarra should certainly be doable when fully prebuffed.
      I have a video of her on Unfair here: ruclips.net/video/ShTH23Z4MaY/видео.html

    I have some questions regarding certain game mechanics:
    If I have greater invisibility spell and I attack, I always attack the target flat footed ? The only time where this is not the case is when the target has uncanny dodge ?
    If the target has true seeing; mirror image/displacement/blur are useless ?
    If the target has true seeing and I attack him while having greater invisibility, do I still attack him flat footed ?
    What's the deal with foresight ?
    How do I best protect myself vs greater dispel from enemies ?
    How do I increase the chances of my greater dispel working on better/more of the enemie's buffs ?

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  3 года назад +1

      1. Greater Invis will make all your attacks count as sneaks and the enemy as flat footed, however, it will not work if they have True Seeing as that will bypass Greater Invis effect.
      2. Foresight is a great spell that not only gives +2 AC but also lets you become immune to flat flooted, and sneak attacks as well.
      3. The easiest way to protect yourself against dispelling enemies is to kill them as fast as possible, especially with ranged characters that have high Initiative.
      4. To increase your chances of dispelling enemies, you need to increase your Caster Level, although in most cases this will be restricted to merged Lich & Angel. You can also use the Slayer/Rogue ability called Dispelling Attacks, that makes every single one of your sneak attacks also attempt to dispel a single effect on the enemy based on the Slayer/Rogue class level as CL, so a level 12 Woljif would count as a Level 12 Wizard for dispelling purposes, meaning you'd roll 12+ d20 to attempt to dispel the enemy.

How should I build her ? I can go 1 lvl fighter and get proficienties for everything. What do you recommend for my party setup ?

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  3 года назад

      I would rather go for Martial Proficiency feat to get prof with most weapons instead of getting 1 level of Fighter because that delays spellcasting progression and also hexes, unless you are already high level.
      It depends on what you want really. You can focus on STR not to bother with the DEX feats and use a reach weapon + Enlarge to safely attack from the back and behind pets/the other characters.
      Depending on the weapon, you can also bypass the martial feat and go with a background that gives you proficiency in the weapon you want, such as Shackles Corsair for Scimitar.
      Archery also works just fine as you don't have a ranged archer in that party I believe so that's someone to equip the good bows you find.
      You can also go dual wield with Kukris, Daggers or Shortswords.
      For my Camellia in particular, I prefer to have her as a buffer with Greater Enduring Spells & debuffer with Hexes, but she can also decently contribute in melee.
      You can have your Shaman ride the pet, the only problem is Nature only really gives a pet at level 16+ so that's pretty late game.

So you pick Bull's Strength for your character once and set an option "cast automatically when entering a new area", and you never have to manually select it or sit through the animation again.

    So a skald gives +8 ab (6 competence, +2 from item), 6 ab and 1x mutiplier. Initially I was thinking for getting Arueshaelae but the skald seems better.
    What kind of skald would work better for my party, a ranged one, dual wielding or dual wielding with sword ?
    SS trickster main, paladin with a pet, sosiel with pet, fur transmuter, widland shaman if it has a pet and the last slot I would like an archer. What do you suggest for my party, between Arueshalae and a mercenary skald ?

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  3 года назад

      For a Trickster party, I suggest going with a dual wielding Skald that has a high crit range weapon so either Scimitars or Kukris for example. That's because with Trickster, the more attacks you have, the better (for whole party).
      If you already have too many characters in the frontline, dual wielding throwing axes also works great!
      Aru can certainly be good but I vastly prefer Lann with a bow or Wenduag with dual axes for ranged purposes, mostly Wenduag.

      @@cRPGBro If you wore to make a lvl 10 mercenary skald with dual wielding axes, what would be the optimal build ? I don't understand certain mechanics: does outflank work with ranged ? Is snap shot any good ? What stats would you start with and what feats/mythic ones would you take ?

    • @cRPGBro
      @cRPGBro  3 года назад

      @@MosCraciun777 Outflank does not work with ranged, only melee.
      You can fully focus on DEX if you want (Throwing Axes use DEX for AB) and leave STR at a decent amount on character creation such as 14.
      You can also get Finesse + Mythic Weapon Finesse to make the damage scale from DEX, but the normal Finesse feat doesn't do anything, it's just a prerequisite since the axes already use DEX for AB.
      I wouldn't really bother with the Snap Shot line because it takes a lot of feats before you start seeing actual results from it.
      I would definitely take:
      1. The dual wielding feats
      2. Point Blank + Precise like all ranged builds
      3. Rapid Shot for an extra attack with Mythic Rapid Shot to remove the penalty
      4. Improved Critical Mythic
      5. Cleaving Shot & Distracting Shots, Ranging Shots can be decent as well and The Bigger they are as mythic ones.
      I suggest getting Cleaving Shot as your first mythic ability, and then either Improved Critical Mythic or Mythic Rapid Shot as first mythic feat.

    Inspiring command is bugged, doesn't it? When I cast it, seems that my comrades don't want to be inspired and I just lose the casts for nothing

      Inspiring Command is bugged at the moment to be blocked by Mind Affecting immunity despite being a beneficial buff, so if you are an Angel with Improved Halo at Rank 7 or a Lich with Blessing of Unlife/after transformation.

      Hi there, both Fortune Hex & Protective Luck can be extended indefinitely and also out of battle by just using Chant or Cackle.
      Both also last up to 3 rounds by default as you increase in class levels, at 8 & 16.
      You can also extend Evil Eye duration with Chant or Cackle via a move action during battle.

      Yep, Clerics make a massive difference, although I'd say they are only really a must on Hard+ Unfair.
      They certainly help on some Core battles too, though!
