Amazing info!! It seems to me like the pull rates are extremely inconsistent. This data pulls it all together though, thanks for all the money and time spent figuring this out so I don't have to!
For me the pull rates have been worse then battle styles .. and I can’t even complain about battle styles because it treated me well but chilling reign has been terrible for me unfortunately
Same! I was lucky to find a couple random tins with other misc packs at the same time as the chilling reign packs so I didn't have to focus on the lack of pulls in my chilling reign packs because I got some great full arts and rainbow rares from older packs.
The last BS 3 pack blister I opened I got 2 full arts and a rainbow rare! In CR im lucky to get a holo..
Something about me opening a SECOND of something always gives me what I want LOL. My second ever Shining Fates ETB gave me a Shiny Zard VMAX. My second ever Shining fates tin gave me my second Shiny Zard VMAX. My second ever Champions Path etb gave me a Shiny Zard V. Now my second ever Chilling Reign Booster Box gave me a Galarian Moltres V Alternate Full Art 🔥🔥 along with a Secret Rare Galarian Slowking VMAX and Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX and V. I am amazed lol cuz my first booster for Chilling Reign only gave me Karen’s Conviction Full Art as the best pull

Thanks for the breakdown!! I opened 3 booster boxes and got 1 secret rare rainbow trainer. No alt arts. 1 full art. It was disappointing. But atleast I got majority of the main set done haha after the 3rd box still not having a alt art I decided to buy the main alt arts I wanted and I’m done buying sealed packs for this set lol
That's the best way to go. For the fun of it, there's nothing better than opening an ETB, a booster box, and tins. It's frustrating when you do buy 3 booster boxes and get very little in return. Like come on Pokemon Company! Even a couple weeks to a month or so after release, the singles are pretty cheap to pick up that way. :)
@@foresthill538 ya I opened some etbs too 😊 and I did finally pull myself an alt art out of my Pokémon centre etb that arrived yesterday 🙌🏻 so I feel good I did pull one haha hopefully they up the pull rates a bit for evolving skies 🤞🏻🤞🏻 (and the quality haha)
@@tina_marie12 Omg congrats! Awesome to see good pulls. Yeah the pull rates have been overall really tough, especially from the ETB's. Quality is definitely in need being upped. Hard to grade cards with dents, bad centering, and silvering like what Shining Fates had on the baby shiny's. The 25th Anniversary set has to be good quality. That's like the main set this year haha. ES is gonna be so sick though too!

I bought 2 boxes and 36 loose packs. Got 3 alt arts, one rainbow and one gold. Think i got the alt, rainbow and gold from one box… not worth the risk though. The loose packs had about the same results as a booster box. Still didnt get every rare 🤣

Fantastic video Danny. Shame about the pull rates and quality issues. I was genuinely looking forward to opening these packs. Sat down with a coffee and the pokemon theme song playing to get me hyped and slowly spiraled into a depression the more I opened.
Awesome analytical content. I’ve only opened 1 booster box so far and I managed to pull both the full art Blaziken V & and alternate art Shadow Rider Calyrex V. Definitely goes to show that the law of large numbers/ averages will run true with enough pack openings
Yeah, this one is tough due to the size of the set...they need to go back to two Japanese sets per English set sooner rather than later
I love the numbers/stats, and also glad you had a decent sample size. I hate that I get caught up in the numbers sometimes, but to hear that I have a card that has an extremely low pull rate is so exciting. Keep up the great work!!

I really appreciate this analysis. It’s amazing the difference between how the Japanese sets are set up, and the English sets. Much harder to get a full set from a booster box of English despite there being more cards/box. With two children asking for these specific V and Vmax cards for their playing decks, singles are the way to go! Makes me wonder if someone out there is interested in doing an estimate of the base cost of one set by getting bulk + singles. I am certain it trends much much lower than the cost of finding it ‘by luck/pack opening’. It also seems like with such a big set, we would have needed a much higher ‘pull rate’ to allow the everyday person to get close to what they wanted/needed without spending a grand on trading cards.
I always argue about this with people. If you want higher pull rates, cheaper prices, and quality control, then Japanese is always the way to go.
Thanks for the video. I opened a box last weekend and was like “man no secret rare?” , but I ended up have more total pulls than I usually do on a box. Even if they were fantastic. It happens 🤘

I feel like I’ve been super super lucky with chilling reign, I’ve had the alt art secret blaziken, a celebi full art, rainbow flannery and vmax ice rider along with some others from a booster box and an etb
It seems some boxes are stacked. Only opened one and got the blaziken vmax alt art, the ice ryder V alt art, 5 regular V and a pack that had 13 cards + 2 code cards. Consistent with the number of total hits per box he found, but very lucky on the alt art side. We were blessed, brother.

Booster boxes can have 5-11 pulls/hits from my experience. I have had 3 - 10 pull booster boxes, 1 - 11 pull box, 2 - 7 pull boxes & 1 - 8 pull box.
Total purchased items: 8 - Booster Boxes, 2 - ETBs, 1 - Build and Battle Prerelease, 4 - promo 3 pack blisters (Snorlax and Eevee), 2 - promo and coin single pack (2 packs total), 4 - single blisters (for the GameStop promo stamped Sandaconda)

Derium's Pokemon sold 10k packs and opened them all last night. There was a booster box with 3 alt arts and another with 2 alt arts, out of a total of 3 boxes the person bought.
You need to buy a good amount of booster boxes to get lucky or just a few. All depends on what you want to get from this set.
In the end, the pull rates in booster boxes are good, is what I'm getting at.
Honestly, I think shining fates or vivid voltage should be the normal for pack pulls. When you open a pack your kinda playing the lottery and hoping you pull a holo rare or better. Sets now are so big and so difficult to complete that having a master set is nearly impossible unless your willing to drop hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I loved shining fates because I felt like I was actually getting my money’s worth in a set. Finally the above average rare cards were worth more than a dollar and it didn’t feel like a I was always loosing money

It seems that the pull rates were extremely good before but the reprints are god awful. I pulled Charizard on my 39th pack but after that it was a heavy decline as I couldn't even pull any shinies
@@krotchlickmeugh627 Shining Fates has not been good to me, still trying to get Shiny Charizard vmax. Shiny Star V has been amazing to me, pulled the Shiny Charizard vmax on my first box.
I feel super lucky cuz I bought 52 packs and got two rainbows, 3 full art Pokémon V cards, and a gold item card. Looking at this amazing data really put everything into perspective.

I was really happy with pullrates in Darkness Ablaze and VIV but Battle Styles was pretty bad and my Chilling box didn't really have much QC issues, I just only got ONE full art and like 5 regular V's. Alt arts aren't fun when you have to buy $500 worth of cards just to get one. English isn't as fun to open these days; large sets with terrible pull rates just makes me wanna stop buying lol
I pulled kinda good.. but the centering of the chilling reign cards is a joke mostly

I've had really bad pull rates myself. Opened about 50 packs and little to show for it. Makes me wanna just save my money and wait for the sets later this year. And I guess stick with shining fates till then lol.
If you're picking packs from a bin of like 100 packs randomly, you may have a better pull rate due to the luck. Booster boxes usually have a set number of 6-18 meaning total white code cards or an average of like 4-7 V's or better and 4-11 holos. ETB's can have 3+ green codes with an average be about 4 or 5 green codes. 3 pack blisters have what I've seen to be a lot of time, 2/3 white codes.
Your best bet: single blister packs chosen randomly.
Three booster boxes here.
7 hits in the first, 1 rainbow and 1 alt art.
9 hits in the second, 2 full arts, no secret rares or alt arts.
10 hits in the third, 2 full arts, no secret rares or alt arts.
Little bummed, was hoping for at least 2 alt arts but I'm happy i was able to get one!

These numbers are always so fun to hear about. Metagross V is the v card I have hands down pulled the most and I have pulled 3 Melony full arts so far

Yea this is def the best box I've ever heard of. Seems like just getting one alt art can be difficult.
My first Chilling Reign BB was a freak box: Electrode SR, Rainbow Caitlin, Fighting Energy SR, Blissey V... last four packs... boom Alt Art Moltres V!
My second box had a Rainbow Karen's Conviction and nothing but some Vmax, V's, holos... pull rates can vary a lot it seems!

Totally agree on the extreme of low to no pull rates on some and others more. So painful. It’s almost like one has to buy a case now . I got 3 volcanion V full art and 2 rainbow averys from the ETBS, in case there’s a pattern

Danny, if it’s more profitable to keep product sealed for a company then why would opening 15cases benefit you? serious question. i understand people want singles but if you can sell BB for $125 but once you open the value is maybe $50-$75 depending on pulls. how does this benefit your business?
Idk if its because he wants to be able to have singles available for purchase, but yea I agree the math on it doesn't seem worth it for pure profit.

So it was my first time opening this set last night and my walmart had singles. I bought 5 and got 4 out of 5 hits. Was crazy. 2 FA trainers, 1 V and 1 regular holo. Some epic pulls. Quality wise I had nothing wrong with the cards. Centering was average though but nothing crazy.

Man I just opened up my first BB last night and all I got was four V's, 2 VMAX's and like 8 holos, NO Full art trainers, no full arts at all, no secret rares, it was a major dud in my opinion. My two Battle Styles BB's gave me much more value, I'm extremely disappointed. Opening up my second one tonight, it has to be better or I'm just going to be buying singles moving forward.

I hear alot of people around the community having bad luck or bad packs from chilling reigns. personally I guess I have just gotten really lucky in 36 packs worth I got 5 V cards 1 full art trainer and 2 gold secret rares and obviously the reverse holos and common cards. Hopefully you guys have better luck in the future
Some of my packs were open in the box. I watched the delivery driver pull up, drop off a sealed case and I bought the first box out of the case. Pulled 8 hits but some packs weren't sealed correctly

Yep, no alt arts here, I opened 2 booster boxes, and at the end of it, I only pulled 3 vmaxes and 1 gold secret Item. I got 5 total Ice rider calyrex Vs from both boxes

Dang I ordered a 4 pack lot and pulled a shadow rider calyrex vmax reg full art...apparently 1 out 152 packs chances?! Knew it was good and it's not the alt or secret but man didn't realize how lucky that was. Feel like the fact the sets so big with the alternates and secrets and with seemingly below average pull rates for the rarer ones that would keep the price from dropping too low at least on those...not sure just getting back into collecting so no clue how the market goes.
Hey Danny, I opened 2 cases of Chillign Reign for my store, and all my codes were green. Is this something anyone else has noticed? They also seemed to be weighable. I'm from Australia if that makes a difference.

My first BB had 11 hits, including the full art zapdos v, alt art blissey v, rainbow rare tornadus vmax and the gold snorlax. I was sure that they must have increased the secret rare pull rates significantly but I guess not. So far 4 gold cards and 4 rainbow in 6 total boxes opened.
I opened 1 booster box and got 2 Alt V (shadow rider and Zeraora) and Ice Rider Vmax Alt Art Secret rare. It was an amazing time

Wanted to test my luck and bought 27 single blister. Packs and am getting 9 more later to compare the 36 to my Dookey booster box I got. I got 7 hits from my booster box. One full art trainer, tornadus Vmax, and the 5 were regular v cards two being a duplicate tornadus v. I opened my 27 packs and already have 10 hits from the packs. Rainbow rare Peony, gold water energy, Alt art Articuno v, two full art trainers, Metagross Vmax, and the the 5 other hits were regular V cards and none of them were duplicates. Hoping to pull another secret rare or alt art to make up for that dookey booster box!!
I would love to see videos uploaded in higher than 720 quality. So hard to see small print in detail. Especially in this video.
Love the data - my first box had the Blaziken Alt Art, however, the white code card packs didn't always have the hit card? Not something I have seen before...I'd say 70% of the hits were from green packs!
Metagross V and Metagross Vmax had the same pull rate that's crazy

For as bad of a pull rate as Chilling Reign is supposed to have, we pulled Celebi VMAX Secret Rare and and Flannery Secret Rare from one ETB. Video to come out soon.
We had crazy good luck, my wife pulled a gold snorlax and a gold water energy, I managed to get a gold snorlax and a alternate art articuno, only cards I wanted from the set, seemed worth the 3 booster boxes we ordered.
I got 3 boxes waiting for me. 1 from the pkmncolosseum. Cant wait to see what I can pull.
That Zeraora V Alt Art is highly sought after. Posted it on my Instagram and instantly got offered Double what market price is. Hope I pull another one soon 😆

I can't believe how cheap these cards are given how much they cost to pull. Also, do pull rates actually differ by specific card within each rarity? I always assumed they were the same. I doubt this sample size is big enough to say either way.

Damn. I ripped 3 BB....1 gold, 2 FA trainer, 1 FA Pokemon. Tons of duplicate V's and Vmax's. Seemingly every V pull is duplicate cards I already have. Pretty frustrating
