You're content is great man! You add a lot of value to folks trying to get into TCG sales. I've been selling for a few years, wish I had some guidance like this in the beginning. I currently only sell Magic/Pokemon cards worth more than $5 and hold the rest. I'm trying to build up my collection of bulk/lower value cards until I have over 30k worth. My goal is to open a brick and mortar one day, so I want to make sure I have a wide variety of stuff to offer without having to go into debt.
I've turned a pretty good business at a flea market. Sat/Sun, but I also list higher end cards on TCGplayer during the week, because they rarely sell at the flea market. I typically sell $200-$300 on Saturdays and $150-$250 on Sundays, so a good weekend I'll sell $500 in cards. The good thing about that is I can actually get market value on cards, no shipping costs, only gas and $14 for the inside space with a table. Plus I still have TCG orders coming in throughout the week. My problem is keeping enough inventory to keep up with demand at the flea market. My inventory now is a skeleton compared to what I used to have, for good cards. I also make a good bit selling team bags of 30 common/uncommon pokemon cards, and a mix of 10 holos and reverse holos. I sell those for $5.00 each, and bulk is never hard to come by.
I have started just buying 10 of a single bulk card and buy about 60 different cards, then sell them as 51-500 bulk card lots! It's not a major profit, but it's definitely enough for me to keep going! Edit: I would say my profit per card is 8.3¢ and I usually buy a card for 4-5¢, so my total profit for selling 500 cards is close to $35
@@carloscontreras3633 I’m not up to date at all with the current card market, but look into what bulk lots are selling for on TCG player, and then base that around the cost of buying individual cards in bulk and that should give your answer. My guess would be not as profitable as it once was, since this was about 3 years ago during the big boom of Pokémon card sales.
I know I am watching this really late, but I just found your channel the other day. I am really enjoying your content. I really appreciate the information you are putting out there for those of us who are new to both the hobby and to buy/sell for extra income potential.
Hey Danny! I think you overlooked one step in the fees. TCGPlayer fees are 10.25% + 2.5%+$.30 Domestic Credit Card OR PayPal (whatever the buyer uses). So the fee is actually 13.25% + .30 assuming the buyer uses his credit card OR PayPal AND cost of stamp (.50c to .55c). TCGPlayer does not cover the .30c credit card fee, the seller does. Unless I am missing something on their latest "TCGPlayer Fees FaQ". Thanks for the great videos! :)
So I have a question. As you said there is around a 13% tcg player fee. Is this when you buy the card or sell the card? Also is there tax you have to pay when buying off of tcg player?
I set up the spreadsheets, determined my buy prices, and scoured the internet. I have searched ebay, craig's list, facebook market place, etc. I have not found a single card at any price point that is 70% of the breakeven value. I think this is good information, but it is only going to help people if you post a follow-up video of where you get your cards from. High end and low end, at the prices you helped us to set. This is great in terms of being financially mindful, but terrible in terms of practicality. You said you can make hundreds of these sales in a day. Show a video of your successful buying practices so that we can follow suit. What groups can I post my buy list in where those prices are taken seriously? I really do find a ton of value in the insights of this channel, I hope to hear back from you on this! I know plenty of others are wondering too.
Yes he is but he's also stating making 10% is easy. Aswell as the fact he's UK based and TCG player won't let you create a seller account of you're outside UK. So now I'm sat on about £200 worth of singles and no where to sell them near MSRP other than eBay and we all know those horror stories
My target had champions path but I missed it, I may find hidden fates at Walmart or target or gamestop. Also when is the vivid voltage reprint, & cosmic eclipse reprint?
Vivid voltage should be middle of January. Cosmic I still have not received a firm confirmation that it is happening

You could EASILY make that one sheet where you could constantly update sale price & fees etc. Just have the last column be the "buy price" that changes with every other input on your sheet.
A+. inventory looks loaded. hodl some of that stuff into the 25th anniversary and the prices we seen peak during the logan paul movement will happen again and potentially exceed it on them old boxes. especially with everyone opening 3 a week.
Hey Danny! Long time lurker and first time commenter! I really enjoy the content you put out and learning a bit more about your mindset and the business side, but I was wondering if you might ever be open to doing a video revolving around the non-American business side? For example, I'm Canadian and don't have access to TCGplayer for the business side of things, so to me a lot of this information sadly doesn't seem to apply! Thank you!! :)
Whoa, close cam today, awesome! I'm so close to being done with organizing my bulk that I'm gonna send you too :) I feel like I have over 2k bulk maybe close to 3k! I'll prob have to do multiple packages lol
Hey Danny, Only problem with TCG is they don’t take in cards from Australia. I can only buy from TCG direct only and they don’t give you a list of TCG Direct cards so it’s a very long and frustrating process. I appreciate the content that you provide and I know how much effort it takes. Thanks Danny 👍
i hate that so many sites to ship to or from Australia, like wtf is wrong with these sites its fucking 2022 lol. Whats the deal with collectables being so over charged here. This is a first world nation, and a leader of nations compared to many. When I first moved here and even to this day, I get so frustrated how people wont ship here, yet theyll ship to other addresses worldwide without any issue, makes no sense.
A lot of great Info Danny, I love using your template. Can you Explain where to send the Buylist to or how to actually buy the cards on the buylist that we created?
So, using the one example you had, would you ever find someone realistically selling an Umbreon for $63.50 when they can easily see the TCG price is over $100? I could see it on the lower cards where it’s a few cents or even a few dollars, but $30+ seems like a big canyon to cross
You would be surprised. Sometimes people don’t know values or are in a rush to sell. I have found loads of cards on eBay and Amazon with $40 profit margins. You have to be careful to make sure you read the descriptions and properly look at the condition. But it happens. The bigger importance is when you price out collections. People are much more willing to part with an Umbreon at $63 if you are buying $1000 worth of cards from them.
How does shipping prices affect how effective this is? When I go to cheapest listings all shipping prices are around 20$ since I live in Canada. Is there any way around such an expensive shipping price?
Question! I previously bought a couple CP zard promos @10/card. People I try to buy from on Facebook groups go off of eBay prices. Next time do I just pass it up or was it a good buy?
Great video! I was wondering about shipping costs from other buyers. You said that you did not take sleaves and toploaders into account. But at the end you have a price to aim for the card, then you go on to say for example ebay. But then you get shipping costs to my country. So a card for like 6 dollar could cost me 16. How do you go about these situations?
Single cards you can ship in a regular envelope and you just add a stamp? Do you still put it between card board just top loader? Shipping is what is scary
I've been doing something similar with coins. I only do one coin at a time but I aim to return at least 15% each time, with a goal of a turnover once a month. At the end of the year you have 400% gain.
Hey Danny I have over 200 Online TCG codes and am wondering how I should sell them. I am going to put them up for auction but would it be better to separate the listings by set or would it be better to just shuffle all of them and sell 50 random codes per listing? thank you!
So how do you churn through bulk that isn’t competitive and with tcg player your minimum shipping is $.99 so you’d basically have to give away the cards.
Does anyone know if Dannys site ships to Canada? would love to pick up some stuff for the prices but unsure if i'll be able to especially in these times lmao
Hey Danny sorry about the second comment but you think you can help me check out on Colosseum? It keeps saying something went wrong on bot devices I am using.
So with this how do you guys get around shipping costs? Been liquidating some of my personal inventory (from several games) so I can flip it into something like this, picking up singles in bulk like this and flipping. Im running everything through TCGplayer, but Im getting hammered on shipping costs, espeically when talking only a 2.50 card and cheapest USPS is 4 dollars
Dude great video. I’m in south Florida looking to follow in your footsteps and create a business and your videos help and if you need a business partner in the south let me know
Have to be super lucky to find them at 60 to 70 percent of cost...i dont see it. I grind all platforms...if you do its cards that cost 4 bucks and you get them at 2 if you're lucky. Large priced priced cards at that percentage don't exist at this time. Might be the market at the movement. Better to buy certain cards and hope that the demand goes up.

Great info Danny. So much smarter and forward thinking than all the goons that just try to clear shelves and flip sealed product.
I have started just buying 10 of a single bulk card and buy about 60 different cards, then sell them as 51-500 bulk card lots! It's not a major profit, but it's definitely enough for me to keep going!

But how do you find the cards with such low prices?
Awesome!!! Reminds me of the TSM app for WoW auction house.
Where do you get cheap top loaders from… also can you show te most cost effective shipping option… you mentioned 65c total shipping…
tcg is more of an american website anything for Canada?
Did you drive to pick up the cards or did people drop them off at your house?
Dano! How did you set up the spread sheet that calculated the math? Never used this before .
Just FYI, your check out cart on your website to the Colosseum is down. I was going to grab a couple of booster 😥

To get rid of them
