    No F***ING way I was just thinking about making a modern day questar intro THANK YOU. I grew up watching questar and they are the reason I'm a railfan

    any remaining Gray Ghost KCS trains are going to be ending up repainted in Canadian Pacific colors if the KCS/CP merger goes through.

    My grandma (now deceased) lived a few miles north of three Shreveport KCS yard from 96 to 2018. I've seen the White ghost and Grey ghost all the time growing up when I visited her. Saw a White switcher once. They've all been repainted sadly. There's also a motocrycle club called the Grey Ghosts behind the rail yard as well. My dad used to drive me around so I could rail fan when I visited.

    I miss the white ghosts a lil bit more than the gray ones. The gray I miss the most belonged to the MidSouth Rail Corp.
    And then the KCS 652 appears. NICE!!!

      I remember a few white units. They were all gone by the time I started to take pictures. Speaking of Midsouth, we actually just got two HO scale Midsouth GP10's.

    • @killersopinion1829
      @killersopinion1829 4 года назад

      @@LouisianaRailProductions I have one of the GP10s, and I hope to get the other 4 (including the AOK unit). The only thing I can see wrong with the MSRC units is the engine number under the cab window is too big. Microscale has a MidSouth decals set (MC 4090) that can fix that.

      You have a good eye. I didn't even notice that.

      @@LouisianaRailProductions A friend of mine has cans of the actual paint used to paint the MidSouth engines back in the 80s. He made a paint stick with the samples of the gray & green. I sent that to Intermountain so they could match the paint correctly. They matched it perfectly! I closely examined my engine (1035) to my pictures of the real life 1035. Absolutely spot-on!
      When Athearn came out with their CF7s several years ago, they offered a MidSouth unit. However, they did not apply gray paint to it at all! They relied on the color of the plastic to be a suitable substitute for the color. Needless to say, I did not waste my money on that laziness.

    • @LouisianaRailProductions

      I remember seeing those CF7's. Couldn't agree more. Terrible model with no effort to match the prototype. Shame that they didn't get the same treatment as the more well known railroads.

    Never seen a KCS loco with flashing ditch lights before...cool!

    • @LouisianaRailProductions
      @LouisianaRailProductions  4 года назад +2

      That unit was a former Conrail unit. That's why the ditchlights flash.

      Actually KCS used Mars lights before replacing them with normal ditch lights.

    They’re used to be a gray kcs sd40-2 that would pass my house almost everyday when I lived in reserve Louisiana, I lived about 50 yards from the track and got to see a lot of kcs locos over the years

    I tell ya what Bishop this was awesome. I’ve said for years that the KCS Grey is my favorite class 1 paint scheme. Unfortunately I have not been able to shoot one, but I have been able to shoot a couple patched up KCS Grey locos on the Buffalo & Pittsburgh which is cool. Great vid!

    I've been browsing your channel for years and i don't recall seeing the majority of these catches, lol. Great work Bishop! I've only seen one KCS Grey Ghost as we speak. If your counting the TFM ones then two, lol. Those along with any KCS in general are quite rare around here :( Also, i have a question that maybe you can answer or maybe not.............i was informed that KCS no longer has the 70MAC's around with the arrival of their new T4 GEVO's...........is that true?

    • @LouisianaRailProductions
      @LouisianaRailProductions  4 года назад +1

      KCS sold half of them in auction back in summer. They still have half of them but they're not used in much service anymore. KCS also just leased some T4 SD70's so we're thinking they'll replace the remainder of the MACs.
