this reminds me the day i deicided to make a knife out of a cow leg bone....it took forever and hands were bleeding. you did a great job! youre very skilled
Wow this is great! I carve wood but haven't tried bone yet. Watching this, I couldn't help but think about how tired your thumb and index finger must have been. Perhaps binding the point on a handle side ways, with some pitch and sinew, your palm could provide most of the pressure instead of your joint. And would give you a little more leverage. It seemed as tho your hands were gettier beefier as the video progressed lmaoo
Thank you for the valuable feedback! The idea of using a handle is great; I will definitely try it in the next projects. As for the bone piece I used to make this comb, it’s a cow leg bone. The outer surface of this bone is naturally smooth, so it’s important to choose a suitable bone to reduce the time needed for sanding. Don’t forget to check out the other videos to see how I work with bones. And thank you for your genuine feelings about my hands!😃
Beautiful work! I've been thinking about making a comb, but the deer bones I have at my disposal right now are a bit too small for the task. But either way, I would never have gotten it to look as nice as yours!
So when you do it its okay but when I do it everyones all "where the hell did you get those bones from" and "why are you covered in blood" honesty.... Jokes aside mate good work, looks great!
out of all the tools used in this video, the unseen one is the most important one.
patience.
You're gonna confuse future archaeologists.
Haha, let's hope I don't confuse too many future archaeologists!😂 Thanks for the fun comment, glad you enjoyed the video!
Not quite, bones are easy to date so modernity of the tool would be apparent
Thank you, finally someone who still processes bones by hand - without a machine :)

Amazing. The way mankind is behaving, we risk needing to relearn how to do it primitively.

Impossible! That's the coolest comb i ever see!
Thank you 🌺
Nice project and beautiful craftsmanship!
How long does it take for you to make something like this? I've been wanting to get into bone carving but am hoping to do it without power tools
I use a hacksaw and some different shapes files and sand paper it does the job well without being that primitive or using power tools

Jokes aside mate good work, looks great!
It requires a lot of patience in scratching and smoothing the bones and be careful because rock fragments such as absodine are very very sharp.
