Primitive Technology: Making primitive weapons
In this video, we explore the exciting process of crafting a primitive weapon using the bone of a deceased cow and natural materials found in the environment. Join us on a step-by-step journey as we demonstrate traditional primitive technology, ancient craftsmanship, and survival skills.
Our adventure begins by discovering a cow skeleton in the mountains, from which I carefully extracted a leg bone. Next, I prepared primitive tools by breaking down flint stones into sharp shards, perfect for cutting and scraping.
After extracting the bone, I cleaned it by scraping off fat and dirt with a sharp flint piece, followed by polishing it with sand to prepare it for crafting. Once cleaned, I smooth...

What an amazing way of making rope❤
Why do ah think his hands are sexy
Nice. This is the second video I’ve seen it done without using embers to make the hole
Glad you liked it
Great video! How long does it take?
Amazing work!!
Thanks a lot!
Awesome job on that pottery. Pottery and cookware are those things that allow you to do so much. You Can build yourself a whole village with that stuff. Amazing job. Ben
Thank you for the great comment! I appreciate your support. Pottery is truly an art that combines creativity and functionality. I'm looking forward to developing my skills further! I also want to say that you have some amazing primitive skills. I loved what I've seen of your work!
What a serious job. You have difficult construction conditions. But this does not scare you. You work with the utmost seriousness and knowledge of the matter.
Thank you for your wonderful words! Despite the challenges, I love my work and enjoy every moment of it. I always strive to convey information in the finest details. I'm really happy with your comments and glad to have you here!
Very nice!
Huh. Great sharing how to make primitive cordage of varying thickness! But the time you put into this, versus what this "weapon" is gonna do... I see shortcomings and remedies. - It's not a long lever - The "whacking" end ain't real hard or heavy - It's not a cutter or slasher, either So I propose that you have a great tool/weapon handle here. That wants an edge, piercing point, or bludgeoning weight. So saw a slice into that business end or grind it to shape for what comes next (you can glue and reinforce that weakness when lashing in your weapon/tool head). - It's a tomahawk with a chipped and flaked piece of flint/chert/obsidian, which you've already mastered. - It's skull-punch with some sort of spike lashed into the business end (fire-hardened hardwood? Salvaged metal scrap? Sharpened bone, perhaps a hollow femur from a massive critter, single-ground like a syringe needle, hollow inside to let that blood spout out (ex-sanguination). - Or it's a bludgeon with a hefty rock or two fixed into place with wet rawhide. - Or a wicked sap with a floppy leather bag full of sand or metal shot lashed onto the other end. - Just a little more floppy length before the weight? Now it's a proper flail! Keep working and filming. You're on to something!
Thank you very much for your insightful analysis and comment, which clearly reflects your great experience. This isn’t my first piece; I previously crafted a weapon from a bone jaw, which proved to be more effective. There are many comments about that in the related video.👇🏻 ruclips.net/video/cZ-ZWEauL3A/видео.htmlsi=xab4iCHRMdVBqLCG In this video, I aimed to showcase several primitive skills, such as using flint fragments, making ropes, and utilizing available bones as primitive weapons. I truly appreciate your suggestions and will definitely consider them for my upcoming videos. I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills and deliver better content, so it would be great to hear your future ideas. Stay in touch; I’m very glad to have you here!
Wow this is great! I carve wood but haven't tried bone yet. Watching this, I couldn't help but think about how tired your thumb and index finger must have been. Perhaps binding the point on a handle side ways, with some pitch and sinew, your palm could provide most of the pressure instead of your joint. And would give you a little more leverage. It seemed as tho your hands were gettier beefier as the video progressed lmaoo
Thank you for the valuable feedback! The idea of using a handle is great; I will definitely try it in the next projects. As for the bone piece I used to make this comb, it’s a cow leg bone. The outer surface of this bone is naturally smooth, so it’s important to choose a suitable bone to reduce the time needed for sanding. Don’t forget to check out the other videos to see how I work with bones. And thank you for your genuine feelings about my hands!😃
Great job my friend, you pay attention to the smallest details.
Thank you!
I transform a simple cow leg bone into a deadly primitive weapon, using nothing but ancient techniques. Every step is meticulously shown - from scraping and smoothing to creating plant fiber cordage. 🤔 What's your take on primitive survival skills? Are they still relevant today? 💡 If you had to make a tool from scratch in the wild, what would it be and why?
How about making a fishing spear!
@Marleygraham500 I've actually made some hooks from bone and caught a few fish with them, which was a great experience. In the future, I plan to make a fishing spear, and I think it will be a lot of fun!
"Wow, is this a vampire bat
geeez... that stone polished wayyyy too fast to be of any use as an axe head... too soft
In this video, I show you an example of making a stone axe. You can use any type of stone, even very hard ones like granite or diorite, but you'll need to spend a lot of time polishing them and creating a sharp edge.
Love what you are doing, Man. You’re the real deal! Ben
Thank you so much, Ben! Your comments mean a lot to me. I'm glad you enjoyed the content!
Nice work! I like the way you use primitive tools. You have great skills.

This was such a well done film! Your equipment performed amazingly. Thanks for showing this. I hope to do some primitive fishing myself. Have fun! Ben

How did you make the hooks?
@@robertlopez1518 ruclips.net/video/L6GQAU0-CBw/видео.html
No way a bone hook is strong enough to hold a decent fish.
Bone hooks can actually be quite effective, especially if crafted well. They might not match metal hooks in strength, but they can still catch decent fish if used correctly. Have you ever tried using one?
Great video, thanks for posting. I love primitive fishing stuff. Shout out from Canada!

What is it used for.
A bone needle can be used for various tasks, such as sewing with yucca fiber thread. Here is a link to a video that demonstrates some of these uses. ruclips.net/video/Zytfovb5Z9g/видео.html

The jawbone teeth can also act as a great green wood saw
Indeed, the jawbone teeth could scratch the branches of green wood, but they wouldn't be very effective. It might require significant effort and time to use them in this way, and they may not achieve the desired results.
Amazing. The way mankind is behaving, we risk needing to relearn how to do it primitively.
Thank you for your profound and inspiring comment. Indeed, it's essential to remember the importance of maintaining basic skills and being aware of how our actions can impact our future. Not quite, bones are easy to date so modernity of the tool would be apparent
For anyone who's never worked with bone, it is a grueling process. Takes forever and can be really aggravating
Totally agree, working with bone can indeed be a grueling and time-consuming process. It's important to have the right tools and a comfortable workspace to minimize frustration. Have you encountered any specific challenges or developed any techniques that make the process easier?
Thank you, finally someone who still processes bones by hand - without a machine :)
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you appreciate the traditional craftsmanship. It's a labor of love, and comments like yours make it all worthwhile!
