It is something to see, it doesn’t look real, distance is hard to determine, it sort of looks like there is a screen in front of you, as if you can reach out and touch the perceived picture that is front of your eyes. I was a young kid when I saw the Grand Canyon and was blown away by it. I would like to go back again and see it one more time.

In my early life, I actually backpacked and spent a week down at the bottom of the Grand Canyon that was so so great at 26 years old. Can’t do it at 75 so glad I did it when I was young.
With inflation being 250% I'm surprised anyone has anything but loans and mortgages along with utility bills and taxes with these institutions 😮😢

Update: In BC Canada Sunday 28th April a large drug store chain London Drugs couldn't open it doors because of an operational problem IE: system hacked and is closed until further notice.

My son used to live in Henderson Nevada and as a pilot, he would fly a 15 seater twin otter back-and-forth across the Grand Canyon multiple times a day, taking tourists from the Nevada side to the Arizona side and then back again😊
The more small banks that fail, the less the FDIC has in their digital vault, and the more stress it puts on the other banks as the FDIC raises the amount they need to replenish their coffers.

I went down the Grand Canyon on a mule when I was 12..! ..yes the trail was just like this...4 hours to get down..
If they ask why you want to get your money out I wonder what happens if you say none of your business? It really is none of their business why you want your money.
No, you do NOT have to tell them. The IRS tells them to ask, but they don't have to. The banks choose to violate your rights instead. Some banks try to bully people, but they have no LEGAL standing to not give you your money.

Got news for ya…. When you deposit your money into a bank, you are now an ‘investor’ in that bank….. not a ‘depositor’. You are investing in the bank and its solvency (or not). The bank literally owns that money now. Yes, they ‘pay you back’ the money when you withdraw it, but if the bank goes under, kiss your ‘invested money’ goodbye. I believe it was Obama who put this new ‘rule’ on banks when he was in office.

I just realized today i had too much cash on hand and losing value everyday . So i'm turning it into gold maples.
So what do you do? You get interrogated and reported if you take money out, you get interrogated and reported if you put it back in, if you keep the cash in the safe and have to move across country how do you move your money? Too dangerous to carry it in your car. It will be seized by police.

I'm contemplating moving more $ to the credit union. If there is a financial collapse it won't make a difference. I don't want to participate in the CBDC but you can bet the govt who issues social security and govt retirement checks will ensure your direct deposit goes to the CBDC abyss.
I'm with you. Don't want to have anything to do with it but being retired military I know that's what they are going to issue us. Not a dang thing I can do about it.
Be careful about credit unions. I use them. But be aware credit unions are not banks, and the laws and rules are different, especially for estate planning.

It's only to move a small fraction of my money not a lot. Already have a will and my homes are in a trust so I don't have to worry about that.

I just finished shopping at a Wally World store about 7 pm in the Cleveland area. Fairly close Pittsburgh, versus Central Wisconsin. I was looking to see if there were a lot of shortages .
For some reason I didn't see anything wrong. There were plenty of eggs, and bread. They had croutons. They had two full pallets of sugar, and their flour shelf section was actually larger than ours, and it was full of flour. The milk section was 3/4 full and there was plenty of cream cheese. The beef section was only about 1/2 full, but there was still plenty to buy.
They had plenty of Keystone canned meats as well. There were 3 freezer sections full of potatoes. They had a good selection of salt products. I didn't see any open shelves of cold and flue products either.

Heard that the FDIC was under funded.
It cannot even cover 2% of deposits up to the $250K "guarantee". They admitted it in their meeting and chuckled about it.

"Underfunded" implies that there is a known level of reserves that would cause the FDIC insurance fund to be "funded." That number's always going to be the result of lots of SWAG. The only way we'll know if the fund was adequate is to look in the rear view mirror.
Back in the 90s FDIC had .28 cents for every dollar I can only imagine how low it is today.

**UPDATE** Steve this weekend was Tax-Free weekend on preparedness items hee in Texas. My wife and I went to buy a few extra items for our home and we bought some for our daughter. When we went to pay for the Items they cashier did not even know it was a tax-free weekend. I asked to see if the tax was taken off of the items that were listed on the Texas Comptroller website. The cashier was like "oh yea, your right"! It's sad when you have to educate the employees in the home depot. I'm fearful that there are many more who are asleep to what is happening around us. We as preppers need to continue to share truth to our family and friends.
Love the Grand Canyon! Are you at the south rim? Love that area !!, did a canoe trip from the Hoover dam south, camped just south of the rim and loved it!!! Was there with whole family and many friends. Didn’t have much money then but didn’t need much. Lost my house in 2008 but it was a blessing in disguise! Wouldn’t trade a day for anything different, loving life retirement is not too bad. But I don’t need much, divorced and have no debt living the dream!

Bankers were told during fed audits twelve years ago that the only save investment was t-bills. Wrong!
That probably was a true statement. The term "T-bills" refers ONLY to Treasury securities with maturities of one year or less. The interest-rate-related losses that are killing banks are due to large holding of long term Treasury "Notes" and "Bonds."
Two banks spent $1.5 million in legal fees on me and my businesses. That's my education and experience.

Only money we have. I have heard for a while now to get money out of big banks, and find a good smaller bank to put it.
How do you choose this better bank. Here in Kingman we have a Chase, a bofa ATM, a couple regional banks, and maybe a couple credit Unions.
I've been with bofa for 23 years. They've been good when there has been incidents of fraud. They've covered it within a couple days.
What I've seen the banks that have collapsed have been regional banks.
I feel if they go to all digital won't make a difference what bank your with.

Update! Just a quick heads up. Our Wally in SW Missouri stocked all the Keystone meats. The shelve was full both 28oz and the smaller sized cans of beef, 28 oz Grounded Beef, Chicken and Pork. I bought a few cans of ground at $8.82 and the large cans of beef at $9.88. The prices were good and the selection was excellent. We already have several cans of chicken so I didn’t price it. We don’t eat much pork so again didn’t notice the price. Hope you all find some. This is the first time they have been this well stocked that I have seen.
