Well this is a difficult one as usual. I think you are basically right Vinz, as in its modern form it arrived in Europe about the 17th century . Handel's composition based on the tune comes from about 1702. which is even later. However it appears to have had an origin in the Spanish colonies in the 16th. century . I found the details on wiki but I am not an expert on these things and there are several similar references on the internet .
Having heard this over the years (in films, on the radio, etc.) I didn't learn of its composer, or name until I listened to this being played live at Hampton Court Palace by a C17th-period orchestra. Its a marvellous composition. Always wonderful to listen to. 🎼👏🏾❤
I had the chance, as funeral MC, to witness this master piece played on organ in Pithiviers, France, for a funeral (duh). Tears had to be retrained during the molto forte. The sound, the vibrations, the epicness... I could barrely carry my emotions.
Let loose brother. No need to hold back in the house of the lord. It shows thanks, appreciation and acknowledgment of just how precious this gift of life that god gave to us is.
Handel and Bach both gave God the glory for inspiring them to create such beautiful music. When I get to heaven, I look forward to meeting them personally and enjoying their music for eternity.
This piece was used in a documentary about President Reagen call"In The Face Of Evil, Ronald Reagen's War Of Word And Deed". Powerful and pretty accurate documentary. Not much to say about many of today's documentary.
This sounds so similar to FMA Brotherhood's OST "Lapis Philosophorum". But since this is 300 years old piece, it must be opposite that the "Lapis Philosophorum" inspired by "Handel - Sarabande". But I'll say that, "Lapis Philosophorum" is better.

I am a simple man.
I see mighty organ, I click.

Sarabande was a 16th century dance, this tempo is perfect. You can almost see the couples moving to the rhythm. Handel was a genius .
You mean 17th/18th?

The comfort and wonderfulness of Sarabande are irreplaceable , unfathomable and incomparable

Торжественно и печально. Реквием по мечте, вечности и жизни
Handel, the best party DJ of all time.
I seems I am wandering in memories of my late beloved mother
Bravo, bravíssimo!
I just now realized that this must have been the inspiration for Duel of Fates by John Williams
Holy shit dude......
OMG you're so right
I would like to hear this on the Skinner Opus 904 organ in Battle Creek Michigan USA. over 4,600 pipes! Built in 1933, still works!
very good
3:13 MIGHTY ORGAN!!
Eine Juwel . Mit Kopfhörer in himmlische Musik zum hören .
I don't know why but, whenever I listen to this, I think about the Spanish Empire.
This piece of music is not from the Earth, it just out of the Universe (ETERNITY) Shukry from Egypt)

Wo steht denn die oberlinger mit dem herrlichen Prospekt?
I accidentally watched this on X2 speed and I did not regret it.
sheet music?
I have only heard this played at FUNERALS !
Oui aux obsèques de mon époux
Pour des obsèques pour l entrée du corps dans l église effectivement c est solennel
A sarabande is a slow dance. How it fits into a funeral I have no idea.
@@denisefalloon3037 It does ... This piece of music was played at my father's funeral.
@@denisefalloon3037 The situation inspires the mind and the piece gives it life. Lots of music can fit in many places
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this piece using "La Folia" progression
That's right, a profane Portuguese dance, truly magical, if from the 1400s onwards it has inspired some of the greatest composers of all time ...
No Sound to this pictures.
👏 👏 👏 👏 ❤❤❤❤
did Handel also write the chop sticks?
Musica per volare...

That's ridiculous, building organs was a very European specific skill because organs were used and made and originated in Europe.
