Thank you again for taking the time to work on smaller and more "early game" tunnel bores
This is a fantastic and simple tunnel bore design to make, however if gravel falls on the ancient debris, the TNT cannot be launched till the edge and blows up the machine.
There was a weird problem in the first 1.17 snap. When you built this in 1.16 and then loaded the save in 1.17 sometimes the machine would explode on load. But then I rebuilt it in 1.17 and it was working fine and stable on load. There might be weird incorrect updates of blocks happening when converting chunks to 1.17. This would then affect all TNT dupers. Only happened in non-spawn chunks as well. Let's wait until we're deeper into the snapshots before calling an emergency. 1.17 is still many months away and I suspect this will get fixed or all TNT dupers will explode and tons and tons of more advanced redstone contraptions will tear themselves apart on upgrading to 1.17.

@@DuneAwaken I was about to say this, i noticed in his other video that the observer was facing the other way and that was the reason the sticky piston didn’t recieve any signal causing the normal piston to stay behind
You can swap all slime blocks (except the one at the tnt) to honey blocks, and the front part can be removed as long as you have some headroom in front of the machine
how did you prevent the tnt dropping of the front most ancient debree? i build something very simular to this a cupple of months back and i always had that problem so it ened up not working for stone just netherrack
In 1.18.2, I was having issues placing the minecart. Seems with the provided method, it only pushes the rail, leaving the cart behind. I fixed this by placing a second piston on top of the first and activating them both at once using a lever on the back of the top piston.
The only way I imagine this would push only the rail and not the cart is if you zero tick the piston. Did you place the lever/button on the side of the piston? That causes the extending piston to break the button/lever and is one of the standard methods for generating zero ticks for testing. If you power the piston in any other way things will get pushed correctly.

Yes, TNT dupers have strict limitations on how you can push and pull them because they depend on the order in which blocks get updated and that depends on which block gets pushed first.

Does the world download work? And since it does, what's the difference between the world download and where you built it? Could it be that you're on a Paper or Spigot server and the configuration disables TNT duping?
Checked to see if it works in 1.16.4 and everytime I run it the coral fan pops off leaving the tnt un-duplicated. So note for anyone finding this now: either doesn’t work on the server service my friends use or it doesn’t work in the modern version :(
Try the world download, you'll find that it works just fine. The server you're on is probably Paper or Spigot and those very often have TNT duping broken. The coral fan popping off is a very clear sign of that.
I recreated the design on my SMP, but the tnt would not detonate. I replaced the shroomlight with stone bricks, but im not sure if that makes a difference. Everything else works fine though.
ive built 2 of these on my server now and ive noticed that around every 100 blocks or so. the tnt randomly dosent get thrown far enough and it blows the whole machine up. any suggestions?
I've ran them thousands of blocks on a vanilla server and there has been 0 problems with that. Are you on a Paper/Spigot server or some variant of that?
Was having the same issue, try pushing it from the other side. I couldn't get the minecart to move with the rail until I pushed from the other side of the machine and now it works fine. Also on 1.16.4
I have a problem, I tested this in 1.16.5, but the process for making the tnt duper didn't work. When I used it, it didn't shoot the tnt onto the ancient debris; instead, it exploded itself. I downloaded the world file, and the machines still worked, so I don't know what the problem is. I made sure I built it the exact way that was shown in the video.
I did more testing and I realized that the block on the corner next to the tnt has to be slime. I was using all honey because that was a resource that I had handy in my survival world. I misunderstood what you said and thought all of it could be honey.
I like the design a lot, but one thing I found when I built this in a creative world multiple times it broke itself every now and again and didn't always land on the edge debris which is why.
No idea. Some mod maybe? It's been perfectly reliable for hundreds of people. The TNT doesn't always land on the leading edge, that's why we need three debris.
@@Borkon Then again where the honey is I did put slime (And the only mod I use is optifine.) Might of been that. Also when I did it it landed to close and set off the original tnt.
Works fine for me. Just tested. I really doubt that a minor security release would suddenly change a very fundamental behavior and make note blocks non movable. Have you actually tested the world download? Or did you replace the shroomlight with something else?
Umm... dunno how tnt was supposed to be placed, I just tested how to build this on 1.17.1 rc and it works fine. 1. Build it all without cart and tnt. 2. Put piston in tnt position and push once to opposite direction, then replace that piston with tnt. 3. Place cart in detector rail (which is on top of shroomlight). 4. Arm tnt by launching tunnel bore once so tnt and powered shroomlight don't update each other. This is about ilmango's tnt duper/launcher used in build...
the piston DOES NOT push the minecart! It only pushes the rail underneath it but minecart stays on the same place and just sinks a bit when rail is gone! Is it 1.16.4 "feature"?
Why would you want to do that? And no, you cant automate this with the engine, you have to build another engine, otherwise tnt will be spammed everywhere and the duper would break.
Does the world download work correctly for you? If yes, then the fix is to build the machine the same way it is built in the world download. Can't know what to fix if I don't know how you built it differently.
@@gamingbocca8510 I just checked the world download and it works just fine in 1.16.5 (like it did last week). So I guess I don't understand what the problem is. How does the piston get stuck? and where? You said "slime block at the back of the TNT duper", but the back of the TNT duper is honey.
Cant get this to work on my 1.16.3 world. It quite literally jams up the machine wont move forward. Or I've gotten it to work, and the tnt blows up and stops duping. Any tips?
Is it vanilla Java or some variant like Paper or Spigot? Are all the blocks there? Are some blocks sticking to something? Are there some extra blocks? Does the world download work?
i am having a issue with this i am trying to make this bore in the nether i follow the build but when ever it starts the coral fan and tnt disappears and the tnt just get used up
@@boopio2776 I'm told that Paper and Spigot have options that break TNT dupers and one of the signs is that the coral breaks. It's likely that the server is configured that way. Don't have personal experience of that, but that's what multiple people say when talking about TNT dupers. Unfortunately Paper and Spigot don't behave like normal Java, so some more complex contraptions will break.

I tried building this exactly as shown in the video but can't seem to get it to work. I'm in java 1.16.3 edition
Worked in 1.16.3 yesterday. Can you get the world download to work? Or are you testing on a paper or spigot server?
great design have to tweak it a little for it to work on bedrock edition
How so? I'm on bedrock and I'd like to use this
@@silverrain530 bruh that was 7 months ago I dont remember how I tweaked it 😂
this man : build 1x3 boring machine.
Elon Musk and his Boring company wants to know your location
Is this water/lava proof or will I have to manually remove them? Also great design!
You need to remove lava and water in front of all tunnel bores because lava and water protect blocks from explosions.
Nvm i missed the detector rail part
ive built 2 of these on my server now and ive noticed that around every 100 blocks or so. the tnt randomly dosent get thrown far enough and it blows the whole machine up. any suggestions?
I've ran them thousands of blocks on a vanilla server and there has been 0 problems with that. Are you on a Paper/Spigot server or some variant of that?
is it possible they fixed this in 1.16.4 ? I cant seem to be able to push the minecart with the piston.
Was having the same issue, try pushing it from the other side. I couldn't get the minecart to move with the rail until I pushed from the other side of the machine and now it works fine. Also on 1.16.4
I ran into the same issue but I placed a block in between the minecart and piston and that seemed to work out.
Is it plain 1.16.5 or a Paper or Spigot server?
Also, one mistake that causes this exact problem is to change the slime block in the front of the duper to honey. It must be slime.
@@Borkon It was a plain single-player world.
Really simple and efficient I will 100% build this in my world
I built this but when I click the note block it just doesn't work. I wanna know why and how to fix it.
Love the video. Came here from reddit. Definitely gonna sub
@@Logan-iw4ss optifine doesn't change any tnt behaviour Afaik, and slime are perfectly fine to use so idk what is your problem.
I’ve tried this design on my Java Minecraft server and it sends off the non-copied tnt and only works once. Any help?
Probably a Paper or Spigot server that aren't really vanilla Java, but their own thing. They usually disable TNT duping.
@@Borkon yep it’s paper, I’ll look through the settings to see if I can enable it. Thank you very much for your response! :)
My TNT keeps exploding, just because if the activator rail. Nothing I do will stop the TNT from detonating...
Nothing? Did you push it in the way I explain in the video how to place the detector (not activator) rail?
Please update for 1.16.5 the music box and observer don’t get pulled with the machine
Works fine for me. Just tested.
I really doubt that a minor security release would suddenly change a very fundamental behavior and make note blocks non movable. Have you actually tested the world download? Or did you replace the shroomlight with something else?
@@Borkon sorry I figured it out 1 min after I posted this. I had a jukebox instead of a note block. Used it for 2 hrs fine after
Umm... dunno how tnt was supposed to be placed, I just tested how to build this on 1.17.1 rc and it works fine.
Or, you know.. just watch three minutes into the video where I'm showing how to do it.
@@Borkon Oh nice 3:00
the piston DOES NOT push the minecart! It only pushes the rail underneath it but minecart stays on the same place and just sinks a bit when rail is gone! Is it 1.16.4 "feature"?
No, you're probably just zero ticking the piston. Place the button or lever on the back of the piston, not the side.
hmm.. my block pusher keeps locking up:/ ive built the same bore'r block for block in creative; i cant find my problem
Does the world download work? usually problems like this are because of observers that are the wrong way or something like that.
Can't quite figure out the block load. Is there any way to fit an observer behind the note block (or even swap the note block out?)
Why would you want to do that? And no, you cant automate this with the engine, you have to build another engine, otherwise tnt will be spammed everywhere and the duper would break.
is there a way to fix the motor piston from getting stuck in the slime block at the back of the tnt duper?
Does the world download work correctly for you? If yes, then the fix is to build the machine the same way it is built in the world download. Can't know what to fix if I don't know how you built it differently.
@@Borkon the same thing happened to me when i was using the one in the world download. and does the version matter becuase im playing on 1.16.5
@@gamingbocca8510 I just checked the world download and it works just fine in 1.16.5 (like it did last week). So I guess I don't understand what the problem is.
How does the piston get stuck? and where? You said "slime block at the back of the TNT duper", but the back of the TNT duper is honey.
Borkon: This is a ridiculasly simple-
Me: Proceeds to download world instead
Does anyone know of an engine that allows this to run without having to click on the noteblock, just want a really long tunnel
@@Borkon vanilla java, yes all blocks and only the right blocks in the right spots copied straight from the world download
help i pushed the minecart and detector rail in with a piston and the tnt exploded
I also have the same problem. The detector rail is still power even after pushing it with a piston. Would be great if you came up with a fix
omg i needed this thanks man
Glad it's useful. :)
When I use the piston to move the rail and minecart it triggers the tnt, why is this? I’m playing on PS4 is this the reason it doesn’t work?
PS4 is Bedrock edition as far as I know, so yes that's the reason it doesn't work.
i am having a issue with this i am trying to make this bore in the nether i follow the build but when ever it starts the coral fan and tnt disappears
and the tnt just get used up
Which version are you on? Normal Java? Paper? Spigot?
@@Borkon Java
i mean i play on a server that is paper but mc version is java sorry
@@boopio2776 I'm told that Paper and Spigot have options that break TNT dupers and one of the signs is that the coral breaks. It's likely that the server is configured that way. Don't have personal experience of that, but that's what multiple people say when talking about TNT dupers.
Unfortunately Paper and Spigot don't behave like normal Java, so some more complex contraptions will break.
