Just built the 4-wide-2-module-noteblock-bore in 1.20.1 at Y Level -57. Pro tips - 1) use litematica building 1 layer at a time, the tutorial is best for understanding the build, 2) skip the TNT / rail / minecart til the end, place TNT then piston push the rail and cart, 3) get plenty of space out front before the first fire 4) backup often, 5) mob switch. I ran it flawlessly for 200 meters and here's my rough loot, not including misc stuff i picked up along the way - double chest of cobbled deepslate stacks (my fave block in the game) - stack of diamond ores - 2+ stacks of redstone ore - 1.5 stacks of gold ore - 3.5 stacks of Lapis I ran into the occasional lava pool, but I had so much gravel from the bore that it was never a problem to fill in.
Warning for everyone building it, at 19:21 be careful with that observer because half of the machine will go and you will have to redo it. Learned the hard way
be very careful placing the observer at 19:20 . without thinking about it I had a block above it to orient it correctly when placing. removing that temporary block triggered it and activated a tnt module, destroying half the machine. be sure to place it alongside a temporary block, not below.
Yes, thank you. I just broke everything doing essentially this because he uses some kind of mod I assume to place blocks backwards and doesn't demonstrate a vanilla way to build it.
Hey Ilmango, I found a way to (almost) double the efficiency of TNT tunnel bores. If you add a second TNT duper with a slightly different setup to launch the TNT you can make it fly below and in front of the machine, which allows you to destroy a lot of blocks below y=10 and get more of the diamonds in the area without having to build your machine below y=10 and having to worry about the lava filled caves. I could send you my prototype if you want to see it working. Its not 100% reliable yet (it blows up after about 10-20 kilometers), but im getting there
Lev Krikken yes, but that one might be for the nether only. Not sure but why would his video on it only include the nether if it worked in the over world as well?
WARNING!!! Please read first. This still works on 19.4. But like previous versions be VERY careful placing the observer at 19:20 . Ilmango uses a mod to help him place blocks the right orientation however in vanilla you often orientate observers by placing a temporary block first then deleting it. When I deleted the temporary block it triggered the observer and sent half the machine forward 3 blocks, I had to rebuild the whole thing, luckily I didn't place the TNT yet. Follow these precautions for safety! 1) Don't place TNT until the end. 2) At 19:20 place the observer on the side of a temporary block, not on the face. 3) I placed temporary safety blocks of obsidian anywhere there was a gap in front of a normal piston (pistons can't move obsidian). Don't know if it helped but I think it did. 4) Most important, before you activate the machine for the first time, save and exit the game and make a backup of your save file. On my second attempt to build the machine I misplaced an observer and it blew up entirely, I was sooooo glad I backed up the save before hand. And bonus precaution, definitely make a mob switch (and go to it to verify the mobs are loaded even if you have a chunk loader). Even with the lights on the machine it's likely you will uncover caves usually full of mobs. I was lucky as when a creeper came I blew it up with the machine. Now that's Karma for the creeper! But yeah, machine works great! Built my smaller one 6 modules wide and getting lots of diamonds. Thanks Ilmango 👍👍👍👍👍
This design is a lot more compact than the previous one from many years ago - and it has something i've always wanted a tutorial for - a right-clickable trigger instead of the minecart thing. Very cool
disguised gaming it’s good if you have friends who play on different platforms. If you wanted to play with your friend on switch but you had a pc you could play with them on bedrock. Also bedrock has a few exclusive features like white leaves during snow, dying leather using cauldrons, potions in cauldrons, armor stands have arms by default and can have their pose changed with red stone, and you can put lava in cauldrons too. Honestly these exclusive features are kinda weak compared to Java’s consistent red stone, polished gameplay, and more fluid pvp. Bedrock does still have 1.8 pvp but you can always change combat using commands or data packs to get rid of the timing of 1.9
Thanks so much for sharing your work. Learned a lot from building it 4 times. The order for building the machine is very important. First tried to let litematica place the blocks and it was a disaster. Every time you place an observer the blocks and pistons moved changing the placement positions. On the second attempt I followed the tutorial step by step but missed placed the back pushers one block to far so rebuilding was in order. Got the hang of placing the observers so they do not trigger on placement. Just put the block on the side and go under it and place it on the side wall. BTW this is all on a creative Realm server. As the tutorial suggested I left the TNT placement for the last part. So by this time the machine is built for the 3rd time and here is were I understood how the TNT got activated. You see on the video Ilmango explains that the TNT duper is disassembled and it will later assemble itself on the first activation. I did not catch or register that part of the build. It was very important. So after the thing is built for the 3rd time I place the first TNT and the detector rail ignites it and BOOM!!! One and a half hrs of work gone. Tried fixing it and decided it would be easier and would teach more just to rebuild it again completely. Here I understood the ignition of the duper, the elevator, the pusher of the TNT, the pushing mechanism of the whole assembly and the relation between the honey and the slime. On the forth time and last, got the build done in about 30 min. (four module machine). Did place the TNT at the correct time and had no issues on the build. Now ready to blast a tunnel under the world. The excitement with every push of the machine continues to build. Thanks again for your work.

Be careful when doing the tutorial. It is easy to miss something and break the machine. Also, make sure to test-build it in creative first: 1: to make sure it is compatible with your version and 2:because you will be slightly more familiar with it so if you miss something you can notice it before you blow yourself up.

19:20 to avoid any unwanted moving of the machine destroy the slime block under that observer and put the observer into place using a piston. to be safe while doing this take the tnt out of the machine
I used the world download into 1.16.3 but after i run it 3 times, waiting very long inbetween each press, it just suddenly doesnt work any more. Edit: Found out that im a total idiot. Skipped the video, just took the world download. You need to go from each side to the other when you activate it. For example, you launch it, destroy the obsidian, activate it once. activate it again once all movement stops, then fly to the other end. repeat
I finally got it working in survival after countless fails. BUT, BE CAREFUL: After every TNT launch do not only look for ores, also look for falling LAVA droplets from the ceiling. If you see them I suggest to scaffold your way up there and remove the lava. ONE single lava source on the right place started to flow over the machine right after a TNT launch and ignited one of the TNT on the machine which caused a chain reaction destroying the ENTIRE machine. Luckily i had a backup so all the work making the machine in survival didn't go to waste.
That moment you realize these are also stackable, and can be easily automated, if you just use both the minecart and note blocks, and make a minor tweak by adding another flying machine to connect the two.
the tunnel bore system is also gonna be the most efficient as far as pickaxe use goes, since you only are mining ores with your pickaxe, and the tnt does all the work for the stone and other blocks
i spent hours making this auto miner in survival and when i activated it... it blew up. i thought i had made something wrong so i rebuilt it 2 more times in creative and all times it did not work. i was playing on a server but idk if that was the problem.
When I put TNT on the wall, it just ignites, WTF? Also I think i built everything as shown and it doesnt fly... Ah yes, rebuilt the machine and everything exploded xD
Don't use observer facing mods in your videos. Just blew everything up trying to place an observer that you place but used mods. It's bs doing that on survival
how can I put the observer in the direction I want instead the default direction? when you place an observer sometimes you put it in the opposite direction that you're pointing how can I do this?
Materials for a middle section 4-duper module: - 101 slime blocks - 4 honey blocks - 6 glazed terracotta - 14 sticky pistons - 20 pistons - 29 observers - 8 redstone blocks To account for the differences at the start and end: -2 honey block, -9 slime block, -1 sticky piston, -1 piston, -2 redstone block, +1 powerable block. Note - I counted this manually, it may be off by one or two.

If you actually care about jargon more than the machines themselves, I don't know what to tell you other than that you just want to appeal to your ego.
@@subramonianiyer9010 yeah I don't know what you mean that mumbo's videos use more sophisticated terms, he says stuff like t flip flop, and not much more advanced than that, don't get me wrong I love watching mumbo, and he is very talented but as far as technical skills go ilmango takes the cake every day, in fact he'll build a machine to take it for him
@@subramonianiyer9010 Mumbo just explains already simple redstone and makes it simpler, ilmango is way more sophisticated, mumbi was touring scicraft last year and he looked like a 1st grader using a quantum computer
@@haashirkabeer2671 Yeah
This still works in 1.18 for those who are curious
Bet?
1.18.2 as well?
But which level for the best?
@@UncleRanger i built mine above lava so it wouldn't need to be stoped
@@UncleRanger -54 is best, it doesn't have the most diamonds but there's little to no lava
Geography is due in a few hours and I'm overdue on the weekly french work and here I am watching minecraft videos. Priorities man, minecraft first.
EDIT: wtf im stupid. A little backstory first. I live in ontario and and in the TDSB school board, and there is this thing where your mark is retained. If your mark is lower than your average at the start of the march break, it will not count towards your final mark. My geo average at that time was 86, which meant that on a project as confusing as this one, I did not have to do it because I doubt I will get over 86 and if I do it will drag my average down because there were alot of easy assignments over the break. So the moral is, read your email i guess?
good luck man
@@TorbTorb Thanks!
Just build a massive quary machine, teriform the planets geography and the ace your test because the world is now flat, mountains are a thing of the past the is just endless nothing except for a griefing machine visible from orbit slowly eating away at the earths core
@@rinomonkey1859 If that gets rid of the dynamo effect (thing that makes the earth;s magnetic field) which will be all there is to geography after that, then I'm down
@@psun256 idk if it will but I'm sure a few million tnt dupers will work :)
Built this and after 3 self destructs I have successfully destroyed my realm’s economy
I tried to build this in 1.15.2 a few days ago but just couldn't and now, thank you so much Ilmango for this!!!!!
I was just watching your 1.12 version of this! Perfect timing as always 👏🏼
this is such an efficient design, I'm starting to think you might be German
I have waited for this forever.
Finally and i love it :)
Redstone gods play SciCraft server . One of them is ilmango
redstoners are everywhere, ilmango's projects and ambitions are beeg tho
Thank god ilmango finally updated it🙏🏻🙏🏻 love you papa mango
Can somebody appreciate that 300 diamonds an hour is 1 roughly every 12 seconds
Yea but each vein does not only have 1 ore
thank you! thank you! thank you! don't get me wrong I love your old tunnel bore but it was a real pain in the ass to build in survival. thank you for the new updated version i will be using this in the future
I just finished my mobswitch today so this is perfect now!
I really hope one of the hermits do this for the 2k diamonds challenge that iskal made
love the work mango... keep it up!
Be careful when doing the tutorial. It is easy to miss something and break the machine.
Also, make sure to test-build it in creative first:
1: to make sure it is compatible with your version and
2:because you will be slightly more familiar with it so if you miss something you can notice it before you blow yourself up.
It is also very easy to forget to remove the scaffolding blocks if you are building this in survival. I learned that the hard way.
Minecart trigger version working in 1.21.1! Thanks mango! Hope you're doing well :)
5:34 I see what you did there ;)
:D
Can't hide ur mistakes mr.mango
What?
Thank you for the updated build!
Build this in my friends realm server. And seems like due to server lag it explodes the machine. Or else i build it wrong. (I tried to build it twice) Im gonna give it a try in my single player another day. Nice and understandable video. Thank you ilmango
@Cameron Kerr pretty sure its Java edition mate 😅
But it doesnt matter. I havent touched MC since the day after i wrote the comment.
I have never been this quick to watch a video
I love these redstone videos!
I’ve been waiting for this for ages, thanks for the design
I've been waiting for this video since docm77 said he was going to do this on hermitcraft
Be careful of holes in the ceiling, the tnt can get caught in them if it isnt high enough and blow the bore up. Learnt this the hard way
This man is a legend
this is what we were all waiting for.
Lol randomly found it
5:10 *NOW THATS A LOT OF DAMAGE*
he has no armor for some wierd reason
Damn, a MC youtuber that isn't completely high on cocaine and adderall and doesn't have to show his house and and cats for 20 minutes in order to show a 3 min tutorial.
Wow. One of a kind xD
Nice vid, nice build ;)
Finally!
you are the best yet give the map to study thanks
Grian and scar after blowing up doc's tunnel bore :
I love the confidence of this dude
Hi to everyone who came here after the.. "incident" on hermitcraft season 9 😬
yeah lol Im gonna build it
19:20 to avoid any unwanted moving of the machine destroy the slime block under that observer and put the observer into place using a piston. to be safe while doing this take the tnt out of the machine
I used the world download into 1.16.3 but after i run it 3 times, waiting very long inbetween each press, it just suddenly doesnt work any more. Edit: Found out that im a total idiot. Skipped the video, just took the world download. You need to go from each side to the other when you activate it. For example, you launch it, destroy the obsidian, activate it once. activate it again once all movement stops, then fly to the other end. repeat
5:32 is the best cut i’ve ever seen
Still works in 1.21 👍
I finally got it working in survival after countless fails. BUT, BE CAREFUL:
After every TNT launch do not only look for ores, also look for falling LAVA droplets from the ceiling.
5:34 ilmango dies, so he stops the clip :P
That moment you realize these are also stackable, and can be easily automated, if you just use both the minecart and note blocks, and make a minor tweak by adding another flying machine to connect the two.
12:34
Where the tutorial begins
the tunnel bore system is also gonna be the most efficient as far as pickaxe use goes, since you only are mining ores with your pickaxe, and the tnt does all the work for the stone and other blocks
not that that would be a big deal in the game, but it will save time at the exp farm
you know its op when it says "duping" or "zero-tick"
???
They're Talking About "Over-Powered", Not "Operator".
Exactly what I needed, great tutorial.
i spent hours making this auto miner in survival and when i activated it... it blew up. i thought i had made something wrong so i rebuilt it 2 more times in creative and all times it did not work. i was playing on a server but idk if that was the problem.
@Dylan Gray yes fully vanilla and alot of hoppers but they a bit far away
Same happened to me, but I think the server is quite laggy so may be our problem
Mango creates a solo vanilla series. Episode one chops wood with a wooden axe. Episode 2 has a fully auto wood farm, iron farm, mob farm, tunnel bore
And he blows up the diamond immediately after finding it two minutes in.
@@paco4714 he did. he's just showcasing it so he doesn't care.
@@waldotheranger3987 he's in creative
I love your SCI CRAFT miner in the table biome and I would like you to make a toturial explaining how it works
Lol diamond mining machine sounds super weird
I’ve been waiting for this video!
Build it with the bottom most block at y: 11, to avoid lava pools
first
:D
You did it.
Good job
good job king
Congrats lmao

As a wise Jumbo once said, Honey Blocks are awesome.
Imagine doing this in the Nether and finding lots of ancient debris
Waiting for ilmango to casually make a netherite beacon on tuesday
He destroy one diamond with the machine design for finds diamonds •́ ‿ ,•̀
Acceptable casualties
Only a matter of time before we see this on Hermitcraft for its efficiency. Great vid mango!
Eyy man, its here now :0
When I put TNT on the wall, it just ignites, WTF?
Also I think i built everything as shown and it doesnt fly...
Ah yes, rebuilt the machine and everything exploded xD
the detector rail is powering the slime block which powers the tnt, you need to push the tnt duper into the tnt to BUD it
My gosh I love Illmango
Don't use observer facing mods in your videos. Just blew everything up trying to place an observer that you place but used mods. It's bs doing that on survival
I did the same thing, needed to take a breather
What is the command used to make the tnt not destroy the blocks around it????
i like the way where u cut out the sceene right before you died with the elytra
how can I put the observer in the direction I want instead the default direction?
when you place an observer sometimes you put it in the opposite direction that you're pointing how can I do this?

Thanks I just was designing this in last days but it went not so good but u did this fantastic! Keep on ur videos!
Materials for a middle section 4-duper module:
- 101 slime blocks
- 4 honey blocks
- 6 glazed terracotta
- 14 sticky pistons
- 20 pistons
- 29 observers
- 8 redstone blocks
To account for the differences at the start and end: -2 honey block, -9 slime block, -1 sticky piston, -1 piston, -2 redstone block, +1 powerable block.
Note - I counted this manually, it may be off by one or two.
