Our lives have taken very similar paths, the worst being losing my remaining family and dog of 17 years a couple of years ago. I’m lucky I wasn’t pushed into drugs by bad influences around me because I was in a bad state. I’m in a much better place now, as hard as it still can be, and I know you’ll continue to get stronger. Losing my mother to cancer young derailed my entire life i went from a 6 figure job to quiting over a speaker phone call to not drinking or eating for close to 2 weeks my wife called an ambulance when i was pissimg bloody sap in our bed i ended up in the hospital severely dehydrated on deaths door i no longer had a will or desire to live 💔 😢 i recovered but never truly it still hurts everyday.

The jumping out of a window, normally is considered a suicide attempt. I don't want to judge him because I've dealt with depression. Most of the time, maybe not every time, when someone tries to commit suicide it's because they are in so much pain and have been for a while. It's not so much that they want to die. It's more like they just want the pain that they've been in for so long to stop. That may have endured abuse, bullying or experienced some other painful series of events. There's also, normally, a lot of other things going on. It's never a first resort and tends to be a decision made out of desperation to find relief from the pain. It also tends to be a decision that has been thought out for a while. So this Calum person what was the reason? Was there a history of depression, treatment resistant depression, a mental health diagnosis, unresolved past trauma or something else?
