Starfield’s New Game Plus is amazing. Even unlocking it is pretty mind-blowing. Yeah, you do lose all your stuff but you also get super cool new stuff, and unlock a ton of branching narratives and more choice and consequence. I’m loving it.
Let's make a list of some classic ones: -Metal Gear Solid (you keep the item that the ending give you and can go after the other ending) -Dark Souls 2 (Adds different enemies, reveals the great souls from the first game, etc.)
Not watched the whole video, and if Dragons Dogma 1 hasn't been mentioned, some of the enemies get more powerful and change to more dangerous variants.
If starfield let you save your "schematics" for ship and outpost layouts the new game+ would easily be one of the best out there and a defining feature of the game
Final fantasy 7 remake has one of the most entertaining new game plusses that I’ve played it adds new boss battles in the simulators and the game it self is just way way harder than it is in the first play through so you have to strategise correctly to get the right characters with the right skills materia that I found useless in my first play through became a crucial tool during my second and my character builds were completely different.
Shadow Of Memories : Once you've uncovered the truth (by unlocking enough endings), you get new dialogue options during your 'first' meeting with Homunculus, where you remember all your time travels from the previous playthroughs and reach the very last ending in a matter of minutes. Eternal Darkness - Sanity's Requiem : In each playthrough, you'll have to pick up a different artifact, out of the three available. Not only will this affect whichever Ancient Eldritch being you'll have to fight (and which minions will be most prevalent in the game), but, after your third playthrough, all previous three timelines are merged into one where only a fourth abomination survives and reigns supreme. Spider-Man (PS1) : Not really a new game +, but you can unlock 'What If ?'. In that mode, dialogues and sounds are changed, to make the game absolutely hilarious. For instance, some enemies will parody Apocalypse Now, by singing Wagner's Ride Of The Valkyries, while you are being chased by helicopters. Instead of Venom trying to crush Spider-Man, he'll tickle him. Instead of Mary Jane urging Spider-Man to 'pull the switch' to save her, she'll call him an idiot, if he takes too long.
take a look at Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. This often overlooked ps2 classic featured a system where you received a score at the start of the game, starting at 1/5012 or something. Every new game plus cycle you get a new score depending on certain conditions you met in the previous cycle, going up to 1/4. The higher your score, the more locked doors are unlocked, the more cutscenes play and the more of the story you unlock

Calling you out, Falcon! Where is the OG of the term “New Game +”? Chrono Trigger not only allowed you to start again with everything, but by doing so allowed you to experience multiple endings by killing Lavos (or doing other things) at different points in the story! That changed the narrative immensely! I will call out that Chrono Cross went further by allowing you to get Serge replaced in various battles along with requiring 3 full play throughs to get every character and 100% the game! With its vast array of characters, this opened up numerous story tidbits and opportunities for different reactions to the same storylines. If your baseline is AC:Mirage, the entire Chrono series should be higher than that! Edit: let’s not forget the original Legend of Zelda making the entire game brand new -- dungeons, enemies, overworld locations….all changed.
I enjoyed Atomic Hearts NG+ a lot. Infact, I enjoyed my second playthrough significantly more than my first playthrough bc I fully understood the combat, how the systems worked, and was used to the "jank". the ng+ upped the difficulty to max and it randomized traits enemies would have (like some would move faster, some would be suicide bombers and explode, some had extra strength, others had more health, etc).
Ain't no way you guys haven't put Ghost of Tsushima here: New Game + starts after the prologue directly into the open world You get a new colored horse You unlock the white dye merchant and black dye merchant to customize ALL clothing in the game New difficulty modes and SPOILER ALERT The fact that there are 2 endings really makes it worth it
Not directly related, but I appreciate any game that allows you to toggle your new game plus perks. Being able to choose what I want to bring and level gives the choice of being able to keep your build that you grinded to get, while also allowing the base game to still remain relatively challenging. I think what people want out of NG+ changes depending on the person and the game, so having the option is god-tier.
Why don’t you guys ever mention Ghost of Tsushima?! The game fits perfectly in many videos you guys make and it’s never mentioned. For example, NG+ not only does it give you amazing charms and several armor dyes and masks, but the difficulty Lethal+ is actually lethal, plus you get 3 curses that give the game an even harder challenge. Don’t sleep on the ghost please.

the different endings of nier games aren't new game+ , they are essentially one campaign split into 5
I so wish that Control had a new game plus.
Armor core was one for the few games I played multiple times without it feeling like a chore. It was the perfect gameplay length for quick replays
Starfield’s New Game Plus is amazing. Even unlocking it is pretty mind-blowing. Yeah, you do lose all your stuff but you also get super cool new stuff, and unlock a ton of branching narratives and more choice and consequence. I’m loving it.
Let's make a list of some classic ones:
-Metal Gear Solid (you keep the item that the ending give you and can go after the other ending)
-Dark Souls 2 (Adds different enemies, reveals the great souls from the first game, etc.)
But more games need to do it where it changes the story and the atmosphere.
SUGGESTION: Top 10 games with the best lighting
New Game plus needs to be the standard
Not watched the whole video, and if Dragons Dogma 1 hasn't been mentioned, some of the enemies get more powerful and change to more dangerous variants.
Metal gear solid 3 new game + is pretty good
That Alan Wake dude at the start of that sequence looks like the G-Man!!😱
If starfield let you save your "schematics" for ship and outpost layouts the new game+ would easily be one of the best out there and a defining feature of the game
Borderlands 3 being missed off this is madness 😢
take a look at Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter.
I remember the first 3 ratchet and clank games new game plus was always great. Some of my favorite platformers
It’s a shame cyberpunk 2077 hasn’t got a new game+ yet. Really disappointing.
I haven't played Horizon Zero Dawn has an amazing NG+ that allows you to continue to improve your gear beyond just the first NG+ run and it looks like Horizon Forbidden West's NG+ is just as amazing. I can't wait for HFW's release next month.
i did play ng+ all i gotta say its much faster to play thru it if only you have the special armor played it because steam 100% but if u go for 100% collect the stuff before ng+ gonna do that with west too
@@ItzDnZ The unique weapon and armor mods from the DLC also make your weapons much more powerful, especially if you play through 3-4 times. You can downright trivialize Ultra Hard with Banuk weapons with 3-4 unique mods.
@@geoffrogue3049 i completed the story with those basic weapons on normal then did sidequest and oh man o man the sidequest armor is worth it then started doing dlc stuff and got every banuk piece expect 1 armor i think also the dlc area is 100% done but the special armor saved my ass multiple times in ng+ cus i needed to play it hardest diff (played it lastly after getting everything else) but i wish i knew about the sidequest armor sooner but well i didnt want to get any spoilers soo
@@geoffrogue3049 i think i had best mods on those banuk weapons when i started ng+
@ItzDnZ You can obtain another one copy of those unique mods every playthrough. Four playthroughs and you can outfit the best mods into every weapon.
FF7 Remake has an amazing NG+/Hard mode system where your level is fixed at the cap and you cant use items. Makes balancing for a really tight experience easier so the HM becomes a literacy check for the rpg systems.
The list is specifically for 2023 games. I like your picks, though!
DMC 5 new game plans is a must. You get to unlock new moves, new endings, and play as Vergil
i love the Resident Evil game’s NG+
I enjoyed Atomic Hearts NG+ a lot. Infact, I enjoyed my second playthrough significantly more than my first playthrough bc I fully understood the combat, how the systems worked, and was used to the "jank". the ng+ upped the difficulty to max and it randomized traits enemies would have (like some would move faster, some would be suicide bombers and explode, some had extra strength, others had more health, etc).
Alan Wake deserves to be a TV Show.
I'm struggling to go through Alan Wake 2 for the first time, would never feel encouraged to play a second time
Ain't no way you guys haven't put Ghost of Tsushima here:
New Game + starts after the prologue directly into the open world
You get a new colored horse
You unlock the white dye merchant and black dye merchant to customize ALL clothing in the game
New difficulty modes
and SPOILER ALERT
The fact that there are 2 endings really makes it worth it
Not directly related, but I appreciate any game that allows you to toggle your new game plus perks. Being able to choose what I want to bring and level gives the choice of being able to keep your build that you grinded to get, while also allowing the base game to still remain relatively challenging. I think what people want out of NG+ changes depending on the person and the game, so having the option is god-tier.
Not a Gameranx video without a Fromsoft game being on the list
Yeah, definitely getting tired of hearing about them. Never really played a Fromsoft game that I liked.
Darksouls 2 ng+ was a shock ❤❤😂😂😂😂 you got to give some love to ds2
Hitman freelancer was a pretty nice addition
Resident evil 4 remake was the best game in the series It has so much replay value the parry mechanic is 🔥😍
Why don’t you guys ever mention Ghost of Tsushima?!
Yay! It’s Falcon!
Still surprises me that none of the Pokémon games have a New Game +
Dark souls 2 has one of the best and most creative ng+ system ever in my opinion even those who don't like the game can agree shame it wasn't used in the other souls games.
