    Lies of P was well worth replaying. The only game I've not only completed a ng+ but did it 3 times. The weapon customisations alone makes you want to fight the bosses again and on top or that each ng+ I did add more and more powerful perks to unlock

    Nioh 2 with NG cycles is the goat. Different enemy placements, bosses getting new moves and changes to movesets, new mechanics, etc.

      Nioh 2 will go down as one of my favorite games of all time. It’s fairly well known but it still doesn’t have nearly as much recognition as it should. I feel like people assume it sucks because people call it a souls like copy, when in reality it doesn’t feel like souls at all- the combat system is way better, leagues better.

    • @RepublicofODLUM
      @RepublicofODLUM 10 месяцев назад

      Gow Ragnarok did something similar. All the berserker have new movesets and there also ng+ specific armor to unlock. I just love that game, completely addicted to that combat system

    • @Godin72
      @Godin72 10 месяцев назад

      @@SwiFTDBLNo, comparison is the thief of joy
      You explain how it's reductive for Nioh 2 to be compared to souls then compare it to souls. Explain instead why the combat is better for you, instead of being reductive of all souls-borne games. Like, how, in your opinion, does Sekiro stack against Nioh 2's combat?

    • @SwiFTDBL
      @SwiFTDBL 10 месяцев назад +4

      @@Godin72 I get what ur saying but all I said was I like niohs combat over any souls combat, and I’m someone that loves souls games / sekiro.
      If your comparing sekiro and nioh the main difference is just the depth of niohs combat system= multiple weapons with each weapon having a unique skill tree and play style, plus not to mention all the guardian spirits and soul core abilities, it’s just so much more in depth, and it’s super satisfying once you get good with a specific weapon skill tree, and the beauty of nioh is you can switch builds and weapons and the game will feel 10x different since each weapon is so unique.
      But I def agree with the fact that it’s annoying how everyone compares it to souls games, my point was i actually enjoy it more than souls games. And like I said I’m someone that loves fromsoft and has put thousands of hours into Their games.
      Sekiro is still amazing and the rhythm you get into with perfect deflects / return attacks is also very satisfying, but you only get one weapon and the depth really just isn’t there, but that’s also okay it’s not necessarily a bad thing. It just doesn’t have as much replay ability since you can’t try out as many new things if that makes sense.

    I like the New Game + from Final Fantasy 16.
    It let's you choose a mode called "Final Fantasy", which adds a couple things. It increases the character's lvl cap from 50 to 99, encounters get mixed up with new, stronger foes, and you get additional ways to enhance all your gear, including relics that strengthen the eikon abilities.

      If I remember correctly, when you unlocked NG+ it only unlocked it in that one slot, so if you wanted to play the game again in NG+ you had to unlock it again in a different slot by playing in normal mode again. And I never understood why they didn't just have an option to toggle the prompts off if you wanted to. Great game, but some of those decisions were dumb.

      Batman Arkham Knight has by far the worst NG+ mode ever.
      The game trains you for 20 hours to play one way then out of nowhere forces max difficulty on you in NG+, complete with removing the hit prompts, instead of simply unlocking that new difficulty for you to play if you want. Completely sucks. What if you've 100%'d the game and just want to chill and do a fun victory lap to experience the story again without having to worry about collectibles? Sorry idiot, sucks to be you.

And then you guys are here playing NG5+-es and shit, telling me how awesome it all is that there is not just one but like five remixes of the same shitty five or six levels. Starfield’s New Game Plus is amazing. Even unlocking it is pretty mind-blowing. Yeah, you do lose all your stuff but you also get super cool new stuff, and unlock a ton of branching narratives and more choice and consequence. I’m loving it.

    Let's make a list of some classic ones:
    -Metal Gear Solid (you keep the item that the ending give you and can go after the other ending)
    -Dark Souls 2 (Adds different enemies, reveals the great souls from the first game, etc.)

    Final fantasy 7 remake has one of the most entertaining new game plusses that I’ve played it adds new boss battles in the simulators and the game it self is just way way harder than it is in the first play through so you have to strategise correctly to get the right characters with the right skills materia that I found useless in my first play through became a crucial tool during my second and my character builds were completely different.

    Shadow Of Memories : Once you've uncovered the truth (by unlocking enough endings), you get new dialogue options during your 'first' meeting with Homunculus, where you remember all your time travels from the previous playthroughs and reach the very last ending in a matter of minutes.
    Eternal Darkness - Sanity's Requiem : In each playthrough, you'll have to pick up a different artifact, out of the three available. Not only will this affect whichever Ancient Eldritch being you'll have to fight (and which minions will be most prevalent in the game), but, after your third playthrough, all previous three timelines are merged into one where only a fourth abomination survives and reigns supreme.
    Spider-Man (PS1) : Not really a new game +, but you can unlock 'What If ?'. In that mode, dialogues and sounds are changed, to make the game absolutely hilarious. For instance, some enemies will parody Apocalypse Now, by singing Wagner's Ride Of The Valkyries, while you are being chased by helicopters. Instead of Venom trying to crush Spider-Man, he'll tickle him. Instead of Mary Jane urging Spider-Man to 'pull the switch' to save her, she'll call him an idiot, if he takes too long.

    take a look at Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. This often overlooked ps2 classic featured a system where you received a score at the start of the game, starting at 1/5012 or something. Every new game plus cycle you get a new score depending on certain conditions you met in the previous cycle, going up to 1/4. The higher your score, the more locked doors are unlocked, the more cutscenes play and the more of the story you unlock

    FF7 Remake has an amazing NG+/Hard mode system where your level is fixed at the cap and you cant use items. Makes balancing for a really tight experience easier so the HM becomes a literacy check for the rpg systems.

    Calling you out, Falcon! Where is the OG of the term “New Game +”? Chrono Trigger not only allowed you to start again with everything, but by doing so allowed you to experience multiple endings by killing Lavos (or doing other things) at different points in the story! That changed the narrative immensely!
    I will call out that Chrono Cross went further by allowing you to get Serge replaced in various battles along with requiring 3 full play throughs to get every character and 100% the game! With its vast array of characters, this opened up numerous story tidbits and opportunities for different reactions to the same storylines.
    If your baseline is AC:Mirage, the entire Chrono series should be higher than that!
    Edit: let’s not forget the original Legend of Zelda making the entire game brand new -- dungeons, enemies, overworld locations….all changed.

    I enjoyed Atomic Hearts NG+ a lot. Infact, I enjoyed my second playthrough significantly more than my first playthrough bc I fully understood the combat, how the systems worked, and was used to the "jank". the ng+ upped the difficulty to max and it randomized traits enemies would have (like some would move faster, some would be suicide bombers and explode, some had extra strength, others had more health, etc).

    New Game + starts after the prologue directly into the open world
    You get a new colored horse
    You unlock the white dye merchant and black dye merchant to customize ALL clothing in the game
    New difficulty modes
    and SPOILER ALERT
    The fact that there are 2 endings really makes it worth it

    Not directly related, but I appreciate any game that allows you to toggle your new game plus perks. Being able to choose what I want to bring and level gives the choice of being able to keep your build that you grinded to get, while also allowing the base game to still remain relatively challenging. I think what people want out of NG+ changes depending on the person and the game, so having the option is god-tier.

    Why don’t you guys ever mention Ghost of Tsushima?! The game fits perfectly in many videos you guys make and it’s never mentioned. For example, NG+ not only does it give you amazing charms and several armor dyes and masks, but the difficulty Lethal+ is actually lethal, plus you get 3 curses that give the game an even harder challenge. Don’t sleep on the ghost please.
